Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' self-confidence levels and their mathematical understanding of rows and series. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative method on 30 grade X students in one of the high schools in Bandung Regency. The research data were collected through a mathematical comprehension ability test consisting of five essay questions and a self-confidence questionnaire with four main indicators: confidence in one’s own abilities, acting independently, self-respect, and enthusiasm in discussions. The results showed that students with low self-confidence had an average mathematical understanding score of 18.89, while students with moderate self-confidence had an average of 52.2, and students with high self-confidence had the highest average of 95. This shows that the higher students' self-confidence, the better their ability to understand and solve mathematical problems. This study concludes that self-confidence is one of the important aspects that support students' mathematical understanding ability.

Abstract

Abstract

In a contemporary business environment where material success is often prioritized, spirituality offers an important ethical foundation for Muslim entrepreneurs. This study explores how Islamic spirituality is internalized and embodied in the business practices of a Muslim manager at PT Indoboiler, Bekasi, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, this study adopts phenomenology based on Alfred Schutz's theory of the construction of meaning to analyze subjective experience. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with key informants who were known to exhibit consistent spiritual behaviors, supported by additional interviews with Foundation employees and caregivers. The findings revealed that the informant's spiritual orientation was shaped by internalized religious values, a supportive religious environment, the influence of moral role models (teachers), and strong internal motivations. Spirituality in business is expressed through faith, piety, ethical behavior, and a constant awareness of God's presence. Business activities are seen not only as a means of profit, but as a form of worship oriented towards eternal success in the hereafter. The study concludes that spirituality serves three key functions in ethical Muslim entrepreneurship: as a regulator of behavior, an emotional stabilizer, and a source of creative energy. These insights contribute to the growing literature on Islamic business ethics by providing context-rich empirical data on spiritual experiences lived in the workplace.

Abstract

This article aims to formulate an alternative waqf-based financing model to support the transition to a low-carbon economy in Indonesia. This model integrates green waqf and cash waqf as strategic instruments in addressing the challenge of limited conventional funding for environmentally friendly projects. This research employs a qualitative approach using the literature review method, through the analysis of relevant literature related to waqf, sustainable finance, and green economic transition. The results of the study indicate that the synergy between green waqf as a form of physical asset investment is capable of forming a participatory, inclusive, and sharia-compliant financing ecosystem, and cash waqf as a source of flexible financing. The proposed model, namely the Green Asset Initiation Model, encourages the acceleration of the development of green assets such as conservation land, renewable energy, and organic farming. Consequently, this model has the potential to strengthen the role of Islamic social finance in supporting sustainable development, increasing community involvement in environmental preservation, and supporting the achievement of carbon emission reduction targets systemically and sustainably.

Abstract

This qualitative case study analyzes the implementation of halal certification at Donat Qmeuli, a microenterprise in Tasikmalaya City, and its impact on consumer trust. Data were collected through in-depth interview with the owner and direct observation of the production process on November 12, 2025. The findings show that halal certification was systematically implemented with P3H assistance, verification of certified raw materials, and hygienic practices reflecting the halalan thayyiban principle, despite the absence of comprehensive written SOPs. Although certification did not directly boost sales, it significantly enhanced consumer confidence, strengthened the business’s professional image, and facilitated partnerships with modern retailers requiring halal legality. The study emphasizes the need for continuous halal literacy programs and administrative support for SMEs. Limited to a single case, future research should expand to multiple bakery SMEs for a more comprehensive mapping of halal implementation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Displaced Commercial Risk (DCR) presents a real challenge for Islamic Microfinance Institutions (LKMS) operating in a dual financial system. DCR occurs when LKMS feel compelled to adjust their financing margins following fluctuations in central bank interest rates to maintain competitiveness with conventional financial institutions. This study aims to analyze the forms and manifestations of DCR in LKMS practices, trigger LKMS responses to interest rate volatility, and examine its compliance with Islamic economic principles. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach with case study and juridical-normative methods, data were collected through literature studies and regulatory documentation. The results show that DCR manifests in margin determination that is no longer entirely based on the risk and real value of the business, but instead indirectly follows conventional benchmarks. This has the potential to deviate from the principles of fairness and risk sharing in Islamic economics. This study recommends the development of a real-value-based margin determination model, strengthening Islamic regulations, and increasing customer literacy to strengthen the integrity and sustainability of LKMS.

Abstract

This review evaluates the book English for Islamic Studies: Reading and Exercise Book by Yuli Astutik and Ruli Astuti. The review begins with a brief introduction to the book, the authors’ background, and the book’s main features. The review then presents a description and evaluation of the book’s content based on its central themes. Through 14 units, the authors explore the integration of English language proficiency and Islamic values, covering social ethics, rituals, health, and the history of Islamic civilization. The authors suggest that English instruction in the context of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) must validate learners’ religious identities. The review concludes that the book is an important tool for English language teaching practitioners in Islamic educational settings. However, there is room for improvement in the range of cognitive tasks.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of an adapted International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum to improve students’ English learning outcomes in a rural Indonesian TESOL context. The research was conducted as a continuation of a Research and Development (R&D) study, focusing on the implementation and evaluation phase of a previously designed curriculum. The study involved expert validation and field testing with students in a rural partner school. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings reveal that the adapted IB curriculum was effectively implemented, with positive responses across four key indicators: understanding, engagement, skill development, and contextual relevance. Students demonstrated a high level of comprehension (85%), supported by systematic and scaffolded material organization. Engagement was also notably high (88%), indicating the effectiveness of student-centered and interactive learning approaches. In terms of skill development, 82% of students reported improvements in their English abilities, particularly in basic communication skills, although productive skills such as speaking and writing still require further enhancement. The highest result was found in contextual relevance (88%), showing that learning materials closely aligned with students’ daily lives significantly improved motivation and comprehension. The study concludes that integrating IB principles particularly Content and Language have beneficial impacts into the success of instruction.
