Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The transition to a circular economy necessitates the valorisation of abundant resources like agricultural waste into bioenergy. However, the development of this sector is frequently hampered by inefficient, fragmented, and economically unviable supply chains. This study aims to systematically review how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is leveraged to enhance the efficiency, profitability, and scalability of bioenergy production from agricultural waste. Employing a rigorous Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology based on the PRISMA guidelines, we synthesized evidence from the major international databases, ScienceDirect and Emerald Insight, focusing on publications from the last five years (2021–2025). The synthesis of results reveals that key ICT applications, such as GIS for route optimisation, IoT sensors for real-time feedstock monitoring, and mobile platforms for coordinating logistics between farmers and biorefineries are critical for overcoming supply chain barriers. These technologies demonstrably reduce logistical costs, improve feedstock quality control, and create transparent, viable business models for farmers. A key finding highlights that ICT creates a powerful synergy where economic efficiency and environmental sustainability are mutually reinforcing. Key challenges identified include the high initial investment for technology adoption and the digital literacy gap in rural communities. In conclusion, strategically leveraging ICT is fundamental to transforming the agricultural waste-to-energy ecosystem from a nascent concept into a robust and sustainable industry. This review’s primary contribution is a comprehensive conceptual framework of ICT interventions across the supply chain stages, and the identification of critical socio-institutional research gaps regarding farmer adoption models and supportive policy measures.

Abstract

The urgency of accelerating energy transition in Indonesia arises from its commitment to the Paris Agreement and the national target of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060. However, the current legal framework remains highly centralized, limiting the autonomy of local governments and constraining innovation in renewable energy development. This study aims to propose a progressive legal framework through an asymmetric decentralization model that provides differentiated authority for regions based on their renewable energy potential and climate risk exposure. The research employs normative legal methods with a statute approach, conceptual analysis based on the welfare state theory and subsidiarity principle, and a comparative study with India and South Africa, which have implemented more decentralized models of energy governance. Findings show that Indonesia’s legal system suffers from normative deficits, particularly in integrating justice, participation, and flexibility into energy governance. The proposed asymmetric decentralization model emphasizes granting special authority to regions with strategic roles in the energy transition, supported by a green fiscal transfer mechanism and multilevel governance structures. This model strengthens Indonesia’s ability to bridge international climate commitments with local socio-ecological realities. The study concludes that reconstructing Indonesia’s energy law through asymmetric decentralization offers both academic novelty and practical relevance, providing a path toward more equitable, participatory, and adaptive energy governance. The contribution of this research lies in its formulation of a context-sensitive legal model that advances interdisciplinary debates on law, energy transition, and sustainable development in the Global South.

Abstract

As climate litigation widens in Indonesia, courts increasingly recognize and quantify “ecological loss,” yet enforcement remains the weak link. This article examines how Indonesian law defines ecological loss, how courts and experts measure it in practice (especially in land- and forest-fire cases), and why conversion from judgment to restoration frequently fails. Using doctrinal and comparative analysis, we map valuation methods grounded in Law No. 32/2009 and Permen LHK No. 7/2014 and benchmark them against the US NRDA/HEA model and the EU Environmental Liability Directive’s restoration-first approach. We find that courts often blur ecolosgical loss and remedial costs, rely on simplified carbon pricing, and face procedural barriers and execution bottlenecks. Although large awards exist, collections are rare and restoration outcomes are unclear. We propose litigation-centric reforms: a Supreme Court standard operationalizing Permen 7/2014 for evidence and methods; fast-track execution and ring-fenced restoration funds; and concise judicial guidance to avoid double counting. These steps would align valuation, judgment, and enforcement, so damages translate into verifiable ecological repair rather than symbolic numbers.

Abstract

The increasing demand for reliable and efficient Internet of Things (IoT) applications underscores the importance of ensuring high-quality sensor data for accurate monitoring and decision-making. This study focuses on data quality in an IoT sensor system for water quality monitoring, specifically demonstrated on time-dependent water temperature fluctuations. The system integrates fuzzy logic–based analysis and IoT connectivity using the Adafruit MQTT platform to enable real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and anomaly detection through smartphones, tablets, or computers. To ensure systematic development, the research employs the ADDIE methodology (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), enabling iterative refinement of both hardware and software components. Experimental results show that the system effectively captures temperature variations over time while identifying anomalies that may indicate sensor drift, environmental irregularities, or potential system faults. By addressing both measurement reliability and anomaly detection, this research contributes to improving data quality in IoT-based water monitoring systems, providing a scalable solution for sustainable water resource management and industrial applications/

Abstract

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems are major energy consumers in commercial buildings, often accounting for nearly half of total energy usage. A primary source of inefficiency is conventional operation that ignores occupancy patterns, leading to unnecessary conditioning of unoccupied spaces. This paper presents a simulation study of an occupancy-based HVAC control system using a simplified first-order thermal model of a building space. Three control strategies are compared: a baseline system without active control, a reactive On-Off controller, and a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller tuned using the Ziegler-Nichols method. Both the On-Off and PID controllers are integrated with an occupancy model to enable adaptive operation. Simulation results show that the occupancy-based PID controller achieves the best performance in balancing energy efficiency and thermal comfort compared to the other strategies. In addition, this work highlights a planned extension toward intelligent control methods, such as Deep Reinforcement Learning (DQN), to provide more adaptive and robust HVAC operation in dynamic environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors that contribute to students becoming skilled at writing scientific articles. This study used a qualitative approach using the Participatory Action Research method. The results and discussion indicate that enthusiasm is a key factor in students becoming skilled at writing scientific articles. When theorized, enthusiasm is understood not only from a psychological perspective, but also from a philosophical perspective as a principle, and even as a discipline from a management perspective. The conclusion of this study is that students will certainly be trained in article writing skills to the point of productive publication in scientific journals if enthusiasm is the primary factor. It is not merely a desire without being accompanied by training to improve skills. This study encourages student academics to practice writing scientific articles enthusiastically until they truly become skilled resources.
