Abstract

This experimental study investigates the impact of sleeve gastrectomy on blood glucose regulation in obese diabetic rats. Obesity and Type 2 diabetes are major health concerns globally, and sleeve gastrectomy has been identified as an effective bariatric surgery for managing these conditions. The study used a randomized control group pretest-posttest design with two groups: one underwent sleeve gastrectomy, and the other served as a control group. The rats' body weight and blood glucose levels were monitored before and after the procedure. The results demonstrated a significant reduction in random blood glucose levels in the group that underwent sleeve gastrectomy compared to the control group, indicating an improvement in glucose metabolism. These findings suggest that sleeve gastrectomy effectively improves blood glucose levels, potentially due to changes in hormonal and metabolic pathways, particularly the enhancement of GLP-1 secretion, which plays a role in insulin sensitivity. The implications of this research highlight the potential of sleeve gastrectomy as a therapeutic intervention for obesity-related Type 2 diabetes. Further studies are recommended to explore the underlying mechanisms and long-term effects of this procedure in humans and its broader applications in metabolic disease management.

Abstract

This study investigates language disorders in individuals with autism from a psycholinguistic perspective, focusing on the cognitive and social factors that affect language development. Language disorders are a defining feature of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), hindering effective communication and social interaction. The research examines pragmatic difficulties, semantic challenges, and the cognitive processing issues that individuals with autism experience, particularly in understanding and producing language. Through a qualitative approach, this study explores the relationship between these language disorders and psycholinguistic interventions that aim to improve communication skills. The results highlight the significance of targeted interventions, such as speech therapy and social communication training, in enhancing the ability of individuals with autism to engage in social interactions. The study concludes that while language disorders in autism cannot be completely cured, appropriate therapeutic methods can significantly improve language skills and social interactions. The implications of this research suggest that a psycholinguistic approach to autism language disorders can provide deeper insights into effective intervention strategies and improve communication abilities for individuals with ASD.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the distribution of land value in the Administrative City of East Jakarta through spatial modeling. With the increasing concentration of economic activities in East Jakarta, the demand for land also continues to increase, which has an impact on the increase in land values in the area. This study uses market data and Tax Object Selling Value (NJOP) from 1,522 land sample points, with variables that affect land value, such as land area, building area, and distance to the village and sub-district administrative centers. The spatial analysis approach with the Geoda application is used to evaluate spatial dependencies through the Classic, Spatial Lag, and Spatial Error models. The results of the study show that the variables of building area and distance to the village have a significant influence on market prices and NJOP in East Jakarta. The spatial dependency test carried out by the Lagrange Multiplier (LM) Lag and LM Error methods indicated the existence of spatial autocorrelation in the dependent variables. In addition, the results of the Moran's I and LISA indices identified areas with high (hot spots) and low (cold spots) value patterns, which describe the spatial distribution of land values in the region. This research is expected to contribute to spatial planning and property tax policy. By understanding the factors that affect land value, the government and property developers can make more effective decisions in the management of urban areas of East Jakarta.

Abstract

This study focuses on the fixed asset management practices of Mataram City’s Regional Finance Agency, addressing the challenges and successes in managing regional assets in line with government regulations. The research aims to assess the efficiency of asset management processes, including planning, procurement, utilization, security, and maintenance, under the framework of Permendagri No. 47 of 2021. A descriptive qualitative method was applied, involving interviews, observations, and documentation from key informants, including officers from the Mataram City BKD. The results indicate that while asset management processes are generally aligned with the regulations, challenges such as input errors in bookkeeping, difficulties in determining asset values, and discrepancies between reported data and actual conditions persist. The study highlights the positive impact of Permendagri No. 47 of 2021 on asset management, though it also identifies areas for improvement, particularly in staff awareness and data accuracy. The findings suggest that enhanced training and further integration of digital tools are needed to optimize asset management practices in local governments. The implications of this research are valuable for policymakers, local governments, and asset managers, offering insights into improving asset management systems and ensuring financial transparency in regional administrations.

Abstract

Psychological well-being is a complex construct involving optimal psychological functioning and experience. When people are experiencing problems in psychological well-being, self-compassion is a powerful resource for dealing with stress, depression, and increasing resilience. Self-compassion is directly related to feelings of compassion and concern for others. Self-compassion is very important for adolescents because adolescence is a vulnerable period for self-criticism. Education is one of the important things in the life of every human being and is an obligation for every human being. Through education, a person can develop their potential. In education, of course, there is stress in itself. Academic stress results from stress related to grades and competition for higher education advancement. The researcher conducted this study to determine whether self-compassion mediates the relationship between academic stress and psychological well-being in high school and vocational high school students. Researchers used the Hayes mediation regression analysis technique with Process to see the role of self-compassion as a mediator in the relationship between academic stress and psychological well-being of SMA and SMK students. There were 164 participants in this study, aged 15-19 years, who were high school or vocational high school students. The study results show that self-compassion fully mediates the relationship between academic stress and psychological well-being in SMA and SMK students. These results are expected to be the basis for creating intervention programs that can prevent the impact of academic stress on high school and vocational students so that they can have good psychological well-being.

Abstract

In today's dynamic business environment, the ability of a company to continue its operations or maintain a going concern status is crucial, especially in capital-intensive sectors such as transportation and logistics. This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity, solvency, and company growth on the provision of going concern audit opinions in transportation and logistics companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021–2023 period. This quantitative research involved 101 companies as the population, with a sample of 75 companies selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria. Data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques to test the significance of each independent variable. The results reveal that both liquidity and solvency have a positive and significant effect on the issuance of going concern audit opinions, indicating that higher liquidity and lower debt levels increase the likelihood of receiving a favorable opinion. In contrast, company growth was found to have no significant effect on the auditor’s decision to issue a going concern opinion. Additionally, the three variables simultaneously exert a significant influence on the provision of going concern opinions. These findings suggest that financial indicators related to short-term capability and capital structure are more influential in auditors’ assessments than growth metrics. The study implies the need for companies to maintain healthy liquidity and solvency levels to strengthen stakeholders’ confidence and sustain their operational continuity. Future research is recommended to include qualitative factors or external economic conditions that may affect auditors’ judgments.

Abstract

Cognitive and affective factors play a crucial role in language learning, influencing the acquisition process and outcomes for learners. The cognitive aspect, such as working memory and metalinguistic awareness, is particularly important in processing and understanding language structures. Additionally, the cognitive load theory suggests that when learners are overwhelmed with information, their language processing abilities are reduced, highlighting the importance of a well-structured learning environment. The research methodology employed in this article is a literature review, involving steps such as topic identification, source gathering, source analysis, classification of findings, synthesis, report writing, and evaluation. The cognitive role in language learning includes various processes, including working memory, cognitive flexibility, attention, metacognition, and cognitive load management. Understanding these cognitive mechanisms is crucial for developing effective language learning strategies and interventions. Furthermore, factors such as self-esteem, language ego, cultural background, emotional involvement, and teacher-student relationships also significantly influence language learning. Therefore, educators must create supportive and engaging learning environments that recognize and respond to students' emotional needs, ultimately facilitating more effective language learning experiences for secondary school students.

Abstract

The Audit Board's audit reports from 2021 to 2023 consistently reveal suboptimal tax debt collection implementation in Indonesia, with policies stagnating for over 20 years. This highlights the need to evaluate Indonesia's tax collection law based on recent research. However, research on tax debt collection is relatively limited, and an understanding of the research development in related topics is not yet available. Through a literature review and thematic analysis, the authors identified six research themes related to tax debt collection: "Causes of Tax Arrears," "The Government as a Tax Creditor," "Tax Debt Collection Strategies," "Protection of Tax Delinquent's Rights," "Utilization of Information Systems and Technology in Tax Debt Collection," and "Tax Delinquent's Reactions to Tax Debt Collection Measures." The mapping of these themes can guide future research or policy improvements related to tax debt collection that are needed in Indonesia.
