Abstract

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a life-threatening condition in pediatric patients characterized by alveolar fluid accumulation that disrupts gas exchange. Various scoring systems—Pediatric Index of Mortality 3 (PIM 3), Pediatric Risk of Mortality III (PRISM III), and Pediatric Logistic Organ Dysfunction 2 (PELOD 2)—are utilized to estimate mortality, disease severity, and organ dysfunction. However, their validation specifically in pediatric ARDS remains limited. This prospective cohort study aims to evaluate the predictive validity of PIM 3, PRISM III, and PELOD 2 in children aged 1 month to 18 years diagnosed with ARDS and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). A total of 60 patients were enrolled, with 16 observed for a full 28-day period and 44 reaching clinical outcomes earlier (19 deaths, 25 survivals). Each scoring system was assessed using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis to determine optimal cut-off values for mortality prediction. The PIM 3 score with a cut-off of ≥6.8 yielded a sensitivity of 90.0% and specificity of 95.0%. PRISM III with a cut-off of ≥26 showed 85.0% sensitivity and 100% specificity, while PELOD 2 with a cut-off of ≥9 demonstrated similar performance (85.0% sensitivity, 100% specificity). Among the three, PIM 3 exhibited superior sensitivity for mortality prediction. These findings support the clinical utility of PIM 3 as a more responsive tool for early risk stratification in pediatric ARDS, aiding in timely and targeted interventions.

Abstract

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) remains a leading cause of death globally. The accumulation of plaque in the coronary arteries, frequently triggered by lipid deposition, is a primary contributor to CHD. Lipid profiles serve as crucial indicators for assessing risk and monitoring treatment response in CHD patients. This study aimed to analyze the lipid profiles of patients diagnosed with CHD at the RSPAD Gatot Soebroto heart clinic. This was a quantitative descriptive observational study. The sample comprised 84 CHD patients whose diagnosis was confirmed through EKG, coronary CT scan, or angiography. Measured variables included total cholesterol, triglycerides, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL). Results indicated that 38.6% of patients had one-vessel disease, and over half of the sample was under 60 years old. While a majority of patients had normal levels of triglycerides (64.3%), total cholesterol (64.3%), and HDL (53.6%), a substantial proportion (63.1%) exhibited abnormal LDL levels. This study demonstrates that, despite many CHD patients having normal lipid profiles, a significant proportion still presents with abnormal LDL levels. Further research is necessary to identify the factors contributing to abnormal lipid profiles in CHD patients and to evaluate the efficacy of interventions aimed at improving lipid profiles.

Abstract

The prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas has experienced significant escalation, particularly following the events of October 7, 2023. This escalation has shifted the confrontation from conventional warfare to digital battlegrounds, where both parties engage in cyber and narrative warfare. The increasing use of digital platforms highlights a new dimension of conflict: the battle for public opinion and international legitimacy. This study aims to analyze the role of propaganda warfare within the Israel-Hamas conflict through a qualitative approach and descriptive-analytical method. The research is framed using computational propaganda theory and digital diplomacy concepts, utilizing primary and secondary data sources critically assessed through literature review and digital media observation. The findings reveal that both Israel and Hamas systematically employ digital platforms to frame narratives that justify military actions, influence global opinion, and gain strategic advantage. Propaganda content is carefully curated to evoke international sympathy and mobilize political support. Social media, in particular, emerges as a powerful tool for operationalizing digital warfare tactics, shaping public perception, and sustaining momentum in the global discourse surrounding the conflict. The study concludes that digital propaganda has become a central strategy in modern asymmetric warfare. Its growing influence demands increased digital literacy and critical media analysis, especially in conflict zones. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how contemporary conflicts evolve in the digital sphere and emphasizes the need for regulatory frameworks to address the misuse of digital platforms in international disputes.

Abstract

Technology has brought a huge impact in the field of education. Technology in the field of education not only includes online learning resources, but also involves the concept of Smart Learning Environment (SLE). SLE in the world of education is increasingly influential along with the evolution of modern learning needs. The challenge to realize SLE as a whole is that there is no reference that is a standard in the application and evaluation of technology in the educational environment. Currently, there is still no data on standards or frameworks detailing the use of technology in education. So the purpose of this study is to focus on exploring the trend of the framework in the Smart Learning Environment (SLE) to see what kind of related research can provide future research recommendations. This study uses a systematic literature review approach from 27 final articles. The results of this research found that many studies conducted case studies at the university level. In addition, the research discusses a lot about the performance evaluation of the implementation of existing systems. On the other hand, some research focuses on too general and lacks a teacher's perspective. So that in the future, this study recommends research that explores specifically on certain aspects such as providing practical guidance to increase learning effectiveness and providing recommendations for improvement and development that can ensure that the learning process remains relevant and responsive to the demands of the times.

Abstract

Indonesia’s literacy crisis, evidenced by its low PISA rankings (score: 371; rank: 74/79) and the collapse of major bookstores (e.g., Gunung Agung, Kinokuniya), underscores the urgency for innovative solutions like Balai Pustaka’s EduBP, a digital literacy platform. Despite its potential, EduBP’s sales remain low (16.5% of revenue), necessitating research into consumer behavior to enhance adoption. This study investigates how brand image, product quality, and price perception influence customer loyalty, mediated by customer satisfaction, in the context of EduBP’s digital platform. Using purposive sampling, 125 EduBP users were surveyed via Likert-scale questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS, with validity (KMO > 0.5; loading factor > 0.4) and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.6) tests ensuring robustness. Brand image significantly drives satisfaction (β = 0.476, *p* = 0.001) and loyalty (β = 0.295, *p* = 0.004), while product quality shows no effect. Price perception indirectly affects loyalty (β = 0.703, *p* = 0.000) but not satisfaction. Customer satisfaction strongly mediates loyalty (β = 0.703, *p* = 0.000). Balai Pustaka must prioritize brand reputation and CRM strategies (e.g., after-sales service) over quality enhancements. Future research should explore market segmentation and technology acceptance factors (TAM) to refine digital literacy strategies. This study contributes to the nascent literature on digital product loyalty in emerging markets.
