Abstract

Speaking skill, or mahārah al-kalām, is a skill that requires more than just linguistic proficiency; it also requires a certain setting and amount of practice. In addition to directly enhancing students' Arabic speaking abilities, the debate technique can unintentionally foster a language environment that has a significant impact on foreign language learners. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well the debate approach works for enhancing Arabic speaking abilities. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach and is conducted in the field. The note-taking method is the data collection methodology, and the intralingual equivalent method is used to evaluate the collected data. Overall proficiency in speaking Arabic has increased significantly by 61.5% as a result of this study. There was an 84% rise in the pronunciation component when speaking skills were taken into consideration. The percentage improvement was 87% in the vocabulary area. The percentage rise in PBA students' debate in the comprehension area was 75%, the percentage improvement in the fluency area was 82%, and the percentage gain in grammar accuracy was 74%. Pronunciation and fluency had the greatest average scores across the five categories in the PBA student debate community's post-test evaluation.

Abstract

The integration of audio-visual tools in modern classrooms has revolutionized traditional teaching methodologies, shifting from conventional chalkboard techniques to multimedia-based instruction. This study examines the impact of multimedia projectors on teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and learning outcomes compared to traditional methods. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data was collected from 500 secondary school teachers in District Kot Addu, South Pakistan, through a structured questionnaire. The analysis was conducted based on respondents' demographic characteristics to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. The findings reveal that multimedia projectors significantly enhance student engagement, comprehension, and retention of information. Teachers reported that the dynamic nature of audio-visual tools fosters an interactive learning environment, making complex concepts more accessible. However, the study also highlights challenges such as technical limitations, lack of training, and resistance to change, which hinder the seamless integration of these tools. Despite these obstacles, the research underscores the necessity of digital literacy in contemporary education, emphasizing the need for professional development programs to equip teachers with the necessary skills. Based on the findings, the study recommends targeted teacher training programs, improved access to multimedia resources, and strategic policy interventions to facilitate the adoption of technology in classrooms. By addressing these challenges, educational institutions can leverage audio-visual tools to create more engaging and effective learning experiences. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on educational technology and provides insights for policymakers, educators, and institutions aiming to enhance teaching practices in the digital era.

Abstract

Conveying a written idea in other languages is really a challenge, especially for students. Not only does the challenge come from the grammar of the target language, but the vocabulary also takes a big deal. These things can result in unclear ideas and failure in written communication. This research aims to find out students’ problems in English writing. The data were taken from the writing of English Literature students of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan with samples from three classes. The types of writing were varied starting from essay, formal letter, and topic-based writing. The major finding shows that the students have problems in the subject and verb agreement where they have problems in classifying the subjects and verbs in compound and complex sentences. Besides, the structure of the sentences is sometimes incorrect, especially in forming long phrases. This research is expected to be able to make more students aware of the mistakes and give some clues for the teachers or lecturers related to some problems faced by students in composing a piece of writing.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the user experience of mobile banking applications in Indonesia using usability testing and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Given the rapid growth of mobile banking technology, significant attention must be paid to user experience to ensure the application is efficient and enjoyable. By combining these two research approaches, we identify key factors influencing user experience, such as user interface, navigation, and overall satisfaction. Usability testing was conducted to assess how well the mobile banking application meets user needs and expectations. Participants completed a series of tasks designed to cover the application's main features, while researchers observed and recorded responses, challenges, and time spent on each task. The results provided valuable insights into specific issues users face while interacting with the app. Following this, the UEQ was used to measure qualitative aspects of the user experience, including satisfaction, anxiety, stimulation, and focus. Users filled out the questionnaire after interacting with the app, providing data on their perceptions and emotions during usage. The UEQ data helped identify design elements that positively or negatively impact user experience. The findings offer a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of mobile banking applications in Indonesia. This information can guide developers in making necessary improvements to ensure users have a satisfying and efficient experience. The research also contributes to raising awareness and understanding of user-centered mobile banking application development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea, characterized by menstrual pain, is a common condition experienced by many young women, typically manifesting as cramping and localized in the lower abdomen. The intensity of dysmenorrhea is often influenced by the duration and volume of menstrual flow. One effective strategy to improve understanding of this condition is through Health Education. This study aims to assess the impact of Health Education on the knowledge of dysmenorrhea among female nursing students at Muhammadiyah University Klaten, particularly those in their third year of the S1 Nursing program. The research utilized a Quasi-Experimental design with a one-group pre-test/post-test structure. Health Education sessions were conducted via Zoom, and 10 students participated in the study. Knowledge levels were evaluated using pre- and post-test questionnaires. Before the Health Education intervention, 70% of the participants had limited knowledge about dysmenorrhea, while following the education session, knowledge levels increased significantly to 86.7%. The findings indicate a substantial improvement in the participants' understanding of dysmenorrhea and strategies for managing menstrual pain.
