Abstract

This paper examines the role of trade unions/labor unions in an Islamic perspective. In industrial relations between workers/labor and company owners/entrepreneurs, there may also be disputes between the two. But usually the disputes that occur will be more detrimental to the workers. Usually the imbalance includes the bargaining position between the rights and obligations of workers/laborers and employers. The position of workers/laborers who are weak/not strong need a forum/union to be strong. The forum is the exercise of the right to associate in a trade/labor union. Trade unions/labor unions are representatives of workers/labor in the company to fight for their rights. The method used in this article on the role of trade unions/labor unions in an Islamic perspective uses a qualitative approach. This type of research uses library research/literature review, namely research in which all data comes from written materials such as books, manuscripts, journals, and documents related to bahtsul masail. The method used is descriptive-analytic method, namely the research method by describing and analyzing all the data that has been obtained.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to unravel the root causes of the problem transmition of learning taḥfīẓ Al-Qur'ān through the sanad system at Iqra Global Academy for Qur’anic Studies in Kingdom of Saudi Arabiyah  and Mahad Imam Al-Bukhariy Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar. Both institutions have similarities in applying the study of classical books that are sanad, only Mahad Imam Al-Bukhariy does not apply the system of sanad taḥfīẓ Al-Qur'ān with other riwāyah such as riwāyah Qālūn 'an Nāfi'. Mahad Imam Al-Bukhariy Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar and Iqra Global Academy for Qur’anic Studies in Kingdom of Saudi Arabiyah has a paradigm that the function of sanad can maintain knowledge, authority and legitimacy. Both boards want to produce many sanad ḥuffāẓ who apply Islamic values such as obedience to the rules of Allah, honesty, trust, discipline, fairness, sincerity, and responsibility. The teaching and learning process of tafīẓ Al-Qur'ān with the sanad system has a tendency to transmit original Islamic values that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Abstract

The concept of a Welfare State is a country that discusses the principle of the balance of world morality and religious morality in every people. This study uses a normative, historical, and sociological approach, because it is closely related to Al-Mawardi's thoughts about the welfare state with the reform era in Indonesia in 1998-2018 as follows: First, the Religion aspect, Al-Mawardi makes religion a state ideology, while The Indonesian state uses an ideology known as Pancasila. Second, aspects of Good Governance. Al Mawardi's ideas and what is implemented in Indonesia are in principle the same, Indonesia applies the need for a professional government system, in terms of efforts to meet the needs of citizens; Third, the aspect of Justice, Al Mawardi highly upholds the existence of justice in a country, Indonesia also does the same. The State of Indonesia is a state of law (rechtsstaat), according to Article 1 paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution. All citizens are treated equally before the law (equality before the law); Fourth, the aspect of National Security, related to this, Al Mawardi hopes that state security can provide inner peace to the people, and ultimately encourage people to take the initiative and be creative in building the country. Indonesia also has a desire to build a nation. The Indonesian people always strive for state security which also creates a sense of security for citizens; Fifth, the aspect of Economic Prosperity. Al Mawardi views that prosperity can arouse human enthusiasm to improve work ethic, form various social associations between social classes, reduce levels of social tension, prevent conflict and hostility, create progress in all fields, and build harmony and social cooperation. In Indonesia, the trend of poverty since the 1998-2018 reform era has decreased, this proves that the State of Indonesia is also very concerned about the economy of its people. Sixth, The Nation's Vision. Al-Mawardi emphasized the importance of the entrepreneurial spirit and achievement motivation in the economy for future progress. Currently, Indonesia is very aggressively strengthening MSMEs and entrepreneurship. This is in line with Al-Mawardi's ideas regarding The Nation's Vision.

Abstract

This paper tries to explain Abdullah Saeed's ideas with a new approach to interpreting the Qur'an, namely an approach called the contextualist approach. In Abdullah Saeed's perspective, there has been a gap between the text that has been understood literally by most scholars and the socio-historical context of the Qur'an at the time the revelation was revealed and the contemporary needs of Muslims today. With the hermeneutic interpretation model, he proposes four stages in his interpretation of the Qur’an, namely: meeting the world of the text, conducting critical analysis, finding the meaning of the text for its first recipient, and determining the meaning and application of the text for the present. Abdullah Saeed's idea is at least an alternative solution to address the contemporary challenges faced by Muslims today.
