Abstract

Productive zakat is one of the Islamic economic empowerment instruments designed to enhance the economic independence of mustahik through the development of sustainable business activities. However, the success of productive zakat programs depends not only on the amount of assistance provided but also on the effectiveness of program implementation. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of a productive zakat program across its major stages, including planning, assistance distribution, mentoring, and monitoring, while examining its contribution to the empowerment of mustahik-owned Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving productive zakat program administrators and five mustahik beneficiaries as research informants. Informants were selected using purposive sampling based on their direct involvement in the program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of productive zakat has followed the prescribed stages of planning, verification, assistance distribution, monitoring, and mentoring. The program has positively contributed to business sustainability and the economic self-reliance of mustahik. Nevertheless, improvements in beneficiaries' income remain limited due to constraints related to business capacity, market access, and the intensity of mentoring. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive evaluation of productive zakat implementation from the perspectives of both program administrators and beneficiaries using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening business mentoring, entrepreneurship training, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of productive zakat programs.

Abstract

Indonesia Migrant Worker Placement Companies (P3MI) operating in the professional manpower sector face a persistent vulnerability: international market concentration. PT. Binawan Inti Utama (BIU), part of the Binawan Group ecosystem, currently concentrates placements on a small set of destination corridors (Middle East, Japan, Germany) and three core sectors (healthcare, hospitality, aviation), leaving the firm exposed to country-specific regulatory shifts, employer-side bargaining pressure, and currency volatility. At the same time, a global talent shortage is driving sustained demand across new markets, particularly in healthcare and logistics where vacancies have reached 77% and 74% respectively (ManpowerGroup, 2026). This study designs an international market diversification strategy for BIU's professional manpower business along two dimensions: geographic (destination country) and sectoral (industry segment). A qualitative case study approach was employed. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with directors, heads of placement programs, human capital management, and prospective migrant workers; secondary data were drawn from internal company documents, KP2MI/BP2MI statistics, and credible international sources. The analysis applied PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, VRIO, Parenting Advantage, IFE/EFE matrices, SWOT-TOWS, the Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM), the Internal-External (IE) Matrix, the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM), and the Balanced Scorecard for implementation. The IE Matrix positions BIU in Cell V (“hold and maintain”), and the QSPM ranks market penetration in existing destination corridors as the highest-priority strategy (total attractiveness score 6.78), followed by product development through new Specified Skilled Worker sectors (5.62) and market development into new destination countries (5.34). Because the three scores are close and complementary, this study positions diversification as a phased program in which market penetration funds the near-term revenue base while geographic and sectoral expansion build the medium-term growth path. The proposed design combines geographic expansion into Australia, broader European Union markets, and the Nordic region with sectoral expansion into construction, manufacturing, and non-medical caregiving under Specified Skilled Worker and equivalent schemes. Execution is enabled by activating the Binawan Group ecosystem (UnBin, BTC, LPK, BICCA), digital integration through the Vokati platform, and structured managerial capability development. The study contributes a two-dimensional diversification framework for partnership-intensive service exporters in emerging markets and an implementation-oriented Balanced Scorecard that translates diversification intent into measurable execution.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the factors that influence customers' decisions in using People's Business Credit (KUR) financing products at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Indralaya. The decision to use financing products is influenced not only by economic aspects but also by psychological and social factors explained through the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), namely attitude, subjective norms, and perception of behavioral control. In addition, religiosity is seen as having a role in strengthening customers' decisions in choosing sharia-based financing products. This study aims to analyze the influence of attitude, subjective norms, and perception of control on customers' decisions to use People's Business Credit (KUR) financing products with religiosity as a mediating variable at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Indralaya. This research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research type. The population of the study is customers using KUR financing products at BSI KCP Indralaya. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires with measurement scales developed based on the indicators of each research variable. Data were analyzed using statistical analysis to test the direct and indirect effects between variables through religiosity as a mediating variable. The results of the study indicate that only perceived control has a significant effect on customers' decisions to use Sharia KUR financing products, while attitude and subjective norms do not show a significant effect. Religiosity also has a significant effect on customer decisions and only mediates the relationship between perceived control and customer decisions. The findings of this study can serve as evaluation material for Bank Syariah Indonesia to strengthen product information, simplify administrative procedures, improve customer assistance, and expand access to sharia financing services.

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the global research landscape of idiosyncratic risk in corporate finance using a bibliometric approach. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database and analyzed using VOSviewer software to examine publication trends, co-authorship patterns, institutional collaborations, country contributions, and keyword co-occurrence structures. The findings indicate that research on idiosyncratic risk is highly concentrated within a core intellectual structure dominated by corporate finance, asset pricing, and financial market theories. Co-authorship and institutional analyses reveal a significant dominance of U.S.-based authors and universities, while emerging contributions from countries such as China, Germany, and India highlight increasing global participation. Keyword analysis shows that the field has evolved from foundational studies on volatility and market efficiency toward more interdisciplinary themes, including behavioral finance, corporate governance, and macroeconomic policy. The study concludes that idiosyncratic risk research has developed into a mature and expanding field that integrates multiple dimensions of financial economics and corporate decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze sustainable development planning strategies based on the local potential of seaweed products to increase the income of local communities in Tekolabbua Urban Village, Pangkajene District, Pangkep Regency. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through Focus Group Discussions, interviews, field observations, and documentation. Research informants include seaweed cultivator groups, women's groups, community leaders, group leaders, and relevant stakeholders. The results show that Tekolabbua has strong ecological and social potential for seaweed development, particularly due to the availability of ponds, community cultivation experience, and the presence of local groups. However, the development strategy has not been optimal because cultivation remains traditional, post-harvest processing is limited, economic institutions are weak, market access depends on middlemen, and community income fluctuates due to prices and environmental conditions. The findings emphasize the need for an integrated strategy that includes improving human resource capacity, strengthening cooperatives or local economic institutions, product diversification, market partnerships, provision of post-harvest infrastructure, and environmental risk mitigation. The novelty of this study lies in integrating upstream-downstream dimensions, institutions, added value, women's empowerment, and environmental sustainability into a single framework for local development planning based on seaweed. Practically, the results provide a basis for local governments and communities to design participatory, adaptive, and sustainable seaweed development programs in local coastal areas.
