Abstract

This study aims to understand how solidarity is formed and maintained among members of the Boy Group Seventeen fan community, Carat Indonesia, on social media X (formerly Twitter,we use the term "social media platform X" throughout this manuscript) despite the anonymity of interactions. It explores the paradox of solidarity emerging without personal identity disclosure, challenging the conventional notion that solidarity is trust-based. This study employs a qualitative method with a netnography approach to provide an in-depth analysis of solidarity dynamics in online communities. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique to provide relevant insights into this phenomenon. The study reveals that anonymous identities do not hinder the formation of trust among Indonesian Carat members on social media X. Instead, trust is built by assessing the track record of account owners. The solidarity that emerges aligns with Durkheim’s concept of mechanical solidarity, which is characterized by shared interests, low division of labor, high collective consciousness, and repressive norms. This study focused solely on the Carat Indonesia community on social media platform X, limiting its generalizability to other online fan communities. Additionally, reliance on online observations and interactions may not fully capture offline aspects of solidarity. This study contributes to the understanding of online community solidarity by demonstrating how trust and cohesion can be established despite anonymity. This extends Durkheim’s theory of social solidarity to digital interactions, providing insights into the mechanisms of mechanical solidarity in contemporary online spaces.

Abstract

In the digital era, media plays an essential role in shaping public opinion, with alternative media platforms emerging as key players in critiquing government policies. Among these, satirical content has gained significant traction as a method of social critique. This study investigates MEET NITE LIVE, an Indonesian satirical program, to understand how humor and framing techniques are employed to critique government policies and influence public perceptions. By utilizing a qualitative approach that combines Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and Content Analysis, the study explores how the host uses satirical humor—particularly irony, sarcasm, and parody—to frame government policies, highlighting inefficiencies, injustices, and contradictions, particularly within the economic and educational sectors.  The research reveals that the humor in MEET NITE LIVE goes beyond mere entertainment. It serves as a tool for social critique, encouraging the audience to critically reflect on pressing socio-political issues. By using humor to expose the flaws in government actions, the show fosters a deeper public awareness, prompting meaningful discussions about the implications of these policies.  This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how satirical media, specifically through programs like MEET NITE LIVE, functions as a tool for political discourse. By analyzing the specific humor techniques employed, such as irony, sarcasm, and parody, the research reveals how satirical content critically engages the public with government policies. It demonstrates the potential of satire not only to entertain but also to stimulate critical reflection on socio-political issues, thereby encouraging a more informed and active public engagement with the implications of government actions  The findings highlight the importance of alternative media in providing a space for open critique, allowing the public to engage with social and political issues that are often overlooked or constrained by mainstream media. These findings emphasize the role of alternative media in expanding the public discourse, which in turn can have a significant impact on shaping opinions and policies.

Abstract

This study provides closer insight into how Quantum Learning may be applied in teaching English to first-semester students in the Universitas Negeri Makassar Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Program. Given its emphasis on active participation, experiential learning, and the creation of a positive learning environment, Quantum Learning is considered a possible means of raising student motivation and participation in language acquisition. The survey consisted of 50 students and utilized a quasi-experimental design to measure the changes in student motivation and participation. Pretest and post-test questionnaires, classroom observations, and follow-up interviews were used to measure the changes. The findings showed a noticeable improvement: student motivation increased by 26.4% and participation increased by 32.0%. Class observations revealed that the students were more active and assertive, especially when discussing in groups, playing games, and conducting experiments. Some students even said that they felt less stressed when communicating in English and that learning was more fun compared to previous classes. But all was not well. One of the most significant challenges was the gap in the level of English proficiency among students. This necessitated teachers to adjust their style so that everyone could maintain pace. Differentiated instructions and adapted support are essential for making learning accessible. Finally, the observations are that Quantum Learning can prove to be a successful method for developing English classes and making them more interactive and student-centric, especially in the sphere of sports education. More research could examine its long-term effects, explore how it can be paired with technology, or examine how it contributes to other language skills, such as writing and listening.

Abstract

This study critically examines the intricate relationship between transparency, accountability, and public trust in the justice system within a changing socio-political landscape. Grounded in legal theory and employing a qualitative methodology that integrates phenomenology, ethnology, and virtual ethnography, the research explores how societal values, cultural perceptions, and institutional practices shape trust in judicial institutions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and digital ethnographic observations involving members of the public and judicial officials. Findings reveal that transparency particularly in court decisions, budget management, judicial appointments, and public access to information significantly enhances accountability and fosters institutional legitimacy. The study also highlights how perceptions of fairness, openness, and ethical conduct of law enforcement directly impact public confidence and legal compliance. Moreover, public trust is shown to strengthen social integration and the overall effectiveness of law enforcement by encouraging community participation and reducing legal cynicism. Policy recommendations include the institutionalization of performance evaluations, transparent financial reporting, and digital platforms for public engagement. These measures are proposed as critical steps to create a responsive, equitable, and trustworthy judicial system. The study contributes to the evolving discourse on legal reform and offers actionable strategies for enhancing judicial integrity and democratic governance.

Abstract

This study examines the role of digital advertising and price in the sales volume of Ultra Glue products in Java, Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied and data were collected from 50 respondents through a survey. This study evaluates the impact of promotion, price, and sales using multiple regression analysis. The results show that promotion, especially through digital marketing, has a significant impact on sales, which is in line with the literature that recognizes promotional activities as vital in stimulating consumer demand and purchase intention. On the other hand, the impact of price on sales, although positive, is more complex because it is influenced by product quality, overall strategy, and other marketing elements. This study emphasizes the importance of integrated marketing, in which digital promotions are effective, prices are competitive, and products are of good quality to maximize sales. This study also highlights external variables, such as brand loyalty and market competition, to understand consumer behavior in greater depth. We recommend using a blended approach to enrich our understanding of the consumer decision-making process.
