Abstract

The Indonesian criminal justice system faces significant challenges related to the role and function of correctional institutions, which are still viewed as mere technical enforcers of punishment rather than integral parts of the rehabilitation and social reintegration process. This inequality results in high recidivism rates and failure to achieve true restorative justice, while also causing problems in enforcing prisoners human rights. This study aims to examine the structural disharmony between criminal justice subsystems and formulate an integrative model that positions correctional institutions as strategic actors in criminal policy and the implementation of restorative justice. The method used is normative legal research with a qualitative approach through an analysis of legislation, legal doctrine, and comparative studies of international correctional systems. Research findings show that marginalization in the criminal justice system exacerbates recidivism rates and weakens rehabilitative functions. The proposed integrative model places the correctional system as a partner from the early stages of the criminal process, including sentencing recommendations, risk assessments, and post-sentencing reintegration plans. This study reinforces the importance of functional equality between subsystems and the integration of restorative justice principles as the foundation for a more humane and effective criminal justice system reform in accordance with international human rights standards.

Abstract

Physics education depends on work and energy concepts because they enable students to understand the natural events and technological systems. Students face challenges when learning these concepts because they exist at an abstract level and require a complex understanding while facing restrictions from limited resources and traditional teaching approaches. Students who study energy and work face poor learning results because they lack motivation and critical-thinking abilities. Research from 15 recent academic journals shows that digital education advancements have led to the development of multiple interactive learning tools, including the Physics Education Technology (PhET) Simulation. The implementation of Physics Education Technology (PhET) simulation media has demonstrated successful solutions to overcome learning challenges. The interactive visualizations in PhET media enable students to explore concepts independently, which leads to a better understanding of subjects, improved cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning results, enhanced critical thinking abilities, and improved scientific literacy. The combination of PhET media with innovative learning approaches, including guided inquiry, problem-based learning, and blended learning, enhances student learning effectiveness for energy and work subjects. The PhET simulation platform functions as an optimal educational resource that enhances physics education quality, specifically for energy and work subjects, to help students reach their best learning potential and develop critical thinking abilities at different educational levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social and economic impact of the Nusa Penida Festival on local communities in Nusa Penida, Bali. This annual festival showcases the cultural, artistic, and marine tourism of Nusa Penida, as well as the promotional media of the destinations and community empowerment. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and a case study approach. Data were collected through a literature review by examining various relevant secondary sources, such as scientific articles, government reports, and media publications. The results of the study showed that the Nusa Penida Festival has a positive contribution to local communities. From a socio-cultural perspective, this festival strengthens community identity and pride, encourages social participation, and increases awareness of the importance of cultural preservation. From an economic perspective, this festival encourages micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSMEs) activities, creates job opportunities, and increases local economic turnover. However, challenges such as decreased visitors, overtourism potential, and environmental pressure must be a concern in future management. Therefore, the Nusa Penida Festival must be directed toward the principle of sustainable tourism that emphasizes collaboration between government, community, and industrial actors so that the benefits can be distributed evenly and sustainably.

Abstract

This study examines the legal position and strength of medical records and informed consent as evidence in medical malpractice cases in Indonesia. Using normative legal research methods, this study applies a statutory approach and an analytical approach to understand the aspects of health law and related evidentiary law. The study results indicate that medical records have a strong position as written evidence in civil procedural law and as written evidence in criminal procedural law. Meanwhile, informed consent plays an important role in proving the fulfilment of the doctor's obligation to provide information to patients. However, the existence of informed consent does not necessarily eliminate the doctor's responsibility if proven to have committed negligence. This study also reveals that the use of medical records and informed consent as evidence must consider aspects of patient confidentiality and the development of electronic medical record technology. In conclusion, although medical records and informed consent have significant evidentiary power, their use must be carried out carefully by considering the case context, medical professional standards, and applicable health law principles to ensure justice in resolving medical malpractice cases in Indonesia.

Abstract

Computational thinking (CT) is a 21st-century skill that is currently receiving widespread attention in many developed countries, where it has been incorporated into primary and secondary school curricula. Developing this skill requires a learning model that provides students with direct experience; one such model is experiential learning. This model emphasises that real-life experiences are the primary source of knowledge formation and computational thinking skills. This study aims to apply the concept of computational thinking to programming algorithms for junior high school students. This was achieved by comparing the learning outcomes of experimental classes that implemented an experiential learning model with computational thinking with those of a control class that used conventional methods. The results of the analysis showed that the average student learning outcome value in the experimental class was 87.826, compared to 81.36363 in the control class. Based on the t-test, the calculated t-value of 1.33676 is smaller than the t-table value of 1.68107, so H₀ is accepted and H₁ is rejected. Therefore, there is no significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. However, applying computational thinking through experiential learning models shows a positive upward trend in student learning outcomes and provides a more meaningful learning experience for understanding programming algorithm concepts.

Abstract

Fandom activism refers to the ways fans engage with social, cultural, and political issues that affect their daily lives. Over time, social media has reshaped fan activism by altering fans’ roles within the entertainment industry and amplifying their presence in society, including in Indonesia. Using digital ethnography, this study focuses on key moments in the K-pop fandom in Indonesia, such as the DAY6 and ELF conflicts with a concert promoter and the protest against the 12% VAT increase. This study demonstrates how fandom activism serves as a framework for resisting dominant powers, overcoming the negative stigma of a patriarchal society, and adapting to evolving patterns of activism across generations. These findings highlight the complex interplay between the internal and external dynamics that shape K-pop fan activism in Indonesia. Fans continually renegotiate their identities and roles within fan communities and society at large.
