Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential, challenges, and efforts that can be undertaken to advance the culture of Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan. The regency possesses a diverse cultural heritage, particularly from the Dayak community and its various subgroups, which is reflected in cultural advancement objects such as oral traditions, manuscripts, rites, traditional knowledge, local technology, arts, language, folk games, traditional sports, and cultural heritage sites. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through document analysis, involving an examination of various written sources, including government documents, and academic publications. The findings indicate that strategies to preserve the cultural diversity of Mahakam Ulu must be implemented comprehensively and collaboratively, especially amid the influences of modernization, the lack of cultural practitioner regeneration, and limited human resources and preservation funds. Efforts to advance culture have been carried out through protection, development, utilization, and fostering, integrated into local tourism development

Abstract

This study is motivated by fluctuations in the Operating Surplus net profit at Credit Union Loan (Kopdit Swastisari Kupang), which indicates problems in the financial performance of cooperatives. This study aims to analyze the influence of member savings, total assets, and member loans on SHU in KSP Kopdit Swastisari Kupang. The research approach is quantitative, utilizing secondary data in the form of cooperative financial statements for the 2016–2024 period. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression preceded by classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. The results show that the savings of some members and total assets had no significant effect on SHU, while member loans had a negative and insignificant effect on SHU. Simultaneously, the results of the F-test show that member savings, total assets, and member loans together affect SHU, but the effect is not statistically significant. These findings suggest that the increase in SHU is not entirely determined by the amount of savings, assets, and loans but is also influenced by the effectiveness of the cooperative's financial management. Therefore, KSP Kopdit Swastisari Kupang must optimize deposit management, utilize assets productively, and strengthen credit risk management to improve operational efficiency and encourage sustainable SHU growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of rebranding strategies on brand image and company performance in organizations facing crises. In a dynamic and competitive business environment, rebranding is understood as a strategic transformation process that goes beyond changes in logos or brand names and encompasses the renewal of the company’s vision, mission, values, and brand communication. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method targeting consumers aware of the company’s rebranding process after the crisis. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results indicate that rebranding strategies positively and significantly affect company performance. Brand image plays a dominant role in strengthening positive consumer perceptions and enhancing loyalty and trust in the company. The findings also suggest that consistent, honest, and transparent brand communication is a key factor in the success of rebranding initiatives in the hospitality industry. Holistic rebranding accompanied by internal reforms can restore corporate reputation and improve business performance in the post-crisis period. This study contributes theoretically to the development of marketing management literature and serves as a practical reference for companies in designing effective rebranding strategies for image recovery and performance enhancement.

Abstract

This study normatively analyzes the legal status of the Catholic Church’s annulment within the Indonesian national legal system by comparing the concepts of annulment and divorce. This study is normative legal research that employs statutory and conceptual approaches. The results indicate that annulment in Catholic Church Law is declarative and based on the principle of the indissolubility of marriage, thus being conceptually distinct from divorce in national law. Although annulment shares similarities with marriage annulment, the decisions of ecclesiastical tribunals do not have binding legal force in the national legal system because they are not explicitly regulated by Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. This lack of synchronization between canon and national laws creates legal uncertainty and has implications for the protection of Catholic citizens’ rights. This research affirms the necessity of harmonizing legal norms within the framework of legal pluralism to achieve legal certainty and justice in the regulation of marital status in Indonesia

Abstract

This article presents a comparative literature review examining pedagogical and professional competence among elementary school teachers in Indonesia and Finland, with the aim of generating policy-relevant insights for teacher development in Indonesia. Existing studies on teacher competence often emphasize isolated components, such as certification, curriculum compliance, or professional development, without sufficiently addressing how these elements interact within broader education systems. Drawing on recent international literature published between 2023 and 2025, this review adopts a multidimensional analytical framework that encompasses pedagogical practice, professional preparation, institutional support, and systemic coherence. The findings indicate that teacher competence is not solely determined by individual capability or formal qualifications but by the alignment between teacher education, professional autonomy, assessment practices, and ongoing professional learning structures. Finland has a coherent competence ecosystem characterized by research-based teacher education, strong professional trust, and reflective pedagogical practice. Although Indonesia is supported by national standards and certification systems, it continues to face challenges related to implementation consistency, administrative burden, and uneven professional learning opportunities. This article argues that strengthening teacher competence requires systemic integration rather than incremental reform and offers strategic directions for enhancing elementary teacher professionalism in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia’s archipelagic geography and exposure to Indo-Pacific tensions continue to underscore the need for credible defense capabilities. The Minimum Essential Force (MEF) program (2010–2024) concluded with realization of only approximately 65–70% overall (service-specific: Air Force ~51%, Army ~60%, Navy ~76% by 2023–2024 estimates), constrained by low defense spending (consistently 0.7–0.8% of GDP) and global economic pressures including supply-chain disruptions from U.S.–China competition. This qualitative policy analysis examines MEF optimization strategies—budget efficiency, technological modernization, domestic industry development, and international cooperation—while identifying persistent barriers. It addresses the post-2024 transition to Optimum Essential Force (OEF) under the Prabowo administration, filling contextual gaps by integrating recent fiscal trends (2025–2026 budgets) and policy shifts. Key contributions include updated evidence-based recommendations for resource optimization, reduced import dependency, and accelerated self-reliance, with implications for sovereignty, regional stability, and sustainable defense-industrial growth in archipelagic middle-income states.

Abstract

This study examines the journal writing clinic as a strategic approach to increase the academic capacity of the university community to produce scientific articles in accordance with national publication standards. Using qualitative descriptive methods through literature studies, observation of clinical activities, and analysis of training and mentoring documents, this study explains the basic concepts, implementation process, optimization strategies, and effectiveness of writing clinics in supporting the productivity of scientific publications of the participants. The results of the study show that the writing clinic functions as a systematic, directed, and collaborative guidance space, which provides technical assistance related to article structure, research methodology, journal style of cheating, as well as strengthening scientific argumentation, reference quality, and understanding publication ethics. Optimization strategies in the form of intensive workshops, individual mentoring, peer review, and gradual evaluation have been proven to improve the quality of participants' writing, while the success of the program is greatly influenced by the competence of the facilitators, the availability of literature, and the commitment of participants. Overall, journal writing clinics have proven to be effective instruments for academic development and have important implications for universities in designing sustainable mentoring models to improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulty level of Physics cognitive test items using the Rasch approach and the implementation of analysis through the application of R. The instrument consisted of 10 dichotomous items with three cognitive levels: C2 (comprehension), C3 (application), and C4 (analysis). A total of 100 students from SMAN 9 Gowa participated as respondents. The analysis was carried out using the Rasch 1PL model to obtain difficulty parameters (b), fit items and test information. The results showed that the difficulty of the item varied widely in the range of 0.12 to 2.22 logits, so that it was able to distinguish students' abilities, especially at the intermediate level, as evidenced by the peak of the Test Information Function at θ ≈ 1. However, some C2 items appear more difficult than the theory, which indicates the need for revisions to the redaction and effectiveness of the distractors. Items C3 and C4 were relatively consistent, although some items were classified as very difficult. The ICC analysis also showed differences in characteristics between items according to the principles of the Rasch model. Overall, the use of Rasch through R has proven to be effective in providing objective information about the quality of the items so that it can be used as a basis for improving the Physics cognitive assessment instrument to be more valid and in accordance with students' abilities.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has increasingly been viewed as something beyond a philanthropic act, but as a strategic means by which companies may contribute to sustainable development. CSR in Zanzibar is frequently centered in the service and tourism sectors, where projects are often restricted to a short-term act of charity, rather than a sustained impact. This article discusses CSR's potential as a poverty reduction tool and social welfare enhancement tool in Zanzibar. With a descriptive and analytical approach, employing secondary data from government reports, NGO sources, and case studies in private sector CSR projects, this paper explores CSR interventions' effectiveness. The findings indicate that although CSR projects in Zanzibar give very essential community infrastructure such as scholarships, health programs, and environmental conservation, their poverty reduction input is fragmented, not coordinated, and in need of systematic appraisal. The study posits adopting models such as the Plan-Do-Check-Act-Improve PDCAI cycle and models of participatory approach to development could make CSR a sustainable poverty reduction engine. By aligning CSR directly to social welfare, this piece shows its contribution toward discourse in private sector involvement in social inequalities remedy. Moreover, it gives policy advice toward effectively strengthening CSR governance, ensuring a community-led, sustainable Zanzibar social welfare outcome.

Abstract

This study investigated pre-service early childhood teachers’ perceptions of generative AI in lesson planning. Using a quantitative descriptive design, 30 fifth-semester students completed an online questionnaire assessing perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, ethical concerns, sociopedagogical factors, and attitudes toward AI, complemented by open-ended questions. Findings indicate that students perceive AI as highly useful and easy to use, particularly for generating ideas, structuring lesson content, and supporting pedagogical tasks. Ethical concerns were moderate, highlighting awareness of potential overdependence, content accuracy, and academic integrity issues, while sociopedagogical support, including guidance from lecturers, peers, and institutional resources, enhanced confidence and responsible use. Overall, participants demonstrated positive attitudes toward AI, appreciating its practical benefits while recognizing the need for ethical literacy and structured institutional support. The study provides insight into how generative AI can be integrated effectively into early childhood education, balancing innovation, professional judgment, and responsible use.
