Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a type of dangerous and infectious disease that is very important and causes serious health problems in many countries, including Indonesia. This disease is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis which can attack through the air when another infected person sneezes, coughs or talks. Pulmonary TB can infect anyone, especially individuals who live in densely populated areas and have weak immune systems. Implementing correct cough etiquette is very important to prevent transmission of pulmonary TB. Correct cough etiquette includes the habit of covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow when coughing or sneezing, and washing your hands afterwards. The purpose of this education is to examine the importance of education regarding correct cough etiquette and increase knowledge of pulmonary TB sufferers at the Galang Community Health Center while also supporting the government's efforts to achieve the target of eliminating TB as a public health problem in Indonesia. The method used includes a pretest before implementing education, followed by an explanation of material regarding correct cough etiquette, and then ending with a posttest. This educational activity was carried out at the Galang Community Health Center, Deli Serdang Regency with the participation of 24 participants. Before the education was carried out, the majority of participants had poor knowledge (60%), but after the education, the majority of participants showed good knowledge (95%) and understood the principles of correct cough etiquette. It was concluded that the education participants' knowledge increased, whereas previously the majority was lacking and after the education was given the majority had good knowledge. It is recommended that we continue to apply good cough etiquette and it is hoped that there will be a significant reduction in the transmission of pulmonary TB so that it can improve the quality of public health.

Abstract

Higher level of achievement of the community in the local area, this is also a service in the area which is a world-class public and individual service, at the same time prioritized in promotion and prevention efforts. Decree of the Minister of Health Number 129 of 2008 concerning Minimum Service Standards in Emergency Installations, Response Time, also known as "emergency service response time", is the time needed by patients from the time they arrive at the Emergency Installation until they are given first aid in minutes. The maximum response time is five minutes. The results of the study showed that the number of qualified nurses, the availability of medical equipment, and emergency room employees are the main factors affecting response time. An important factor in evaluating the quality of health services is patient satisfaction, which is measured by how patients act after receiving health services. Patient satisfaction also depends on how well the service offers patient expectations. Patient service has a significant impact on patient satisfaction and is an important component in the Puskesmas system that must always be evaluated. The experience and ability of a doctor in handling emergency patients quickly and accurately correlates with patient satisfaction. Patients who receive good health services will indirectly promote and recommend the health facility to their families.

Abstract

Respiratory disorders can attack anyone indiscriminately. It is often found that types of respiratory diseases such as asthma and ARI. The causes are varied, such as dirty air, bacteria, and viruses. The world death rate of 20% is caused by asthma which is estimated for the next 10 years if it is not treated properly. Bronchial asthma is a type of non-communicable but chronic disease of varying severity in the respiratory tract. Pharmacological therapy such as nebulization and non-pharmacological therapy such as the semi-Fowler position are appropriate treatments to be given to patients with bronchial asthma so that they can regulate the patient's respiratory frequency. Giving a nebulizer can overcome shortness of breath, relax bronchial spasms, liquefy phlegm, and clear the airways. Meanwhile, the semi-Fowler position can provide comfort in breathing so that the lungs become wider. This training activity was attended by PkM participants, namely 20 nursing staff. The series of PkM activities include the delivery of material, discussions, therapy demonstrations, and simulations of treating bronchial asthma patients using nebulization and the semi-Fowler position. The media used are a nebulizer, teaching aids, and SOP. The results of the PkM implementation show that the PkM participants have understood the benefits of nebulization in the semi-Fowler's position. Apart from that, PkM participants were also able to carry out the two treatments by the SOP which was implemented through simulation.
