Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed the pattern of Islamic preaching (dakwah) communication from traditional approaches to online-based platforms. This study aims to analyze the dakwah communication strategies implemented in the Kajian Keluarga Online program at Al Irsyad Mosque, Surabaya, focusing on the effectiveness of the marketing communication mix in reaching and maintaining audience engagement. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with mosque administrators, media managers, and active participants, supported by observation and digital documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the dakwah communication strategy at Al Irsyad Mosque effectively integrates elements of advertising, public relations, direct promotion, and social media marketing. The utilization of Zoom and social media platforms, particularly Instagram and YouTube, successfully expands audience reach and enhances participant loyalty. This study highlights that innovative, technology-based dakwah communication can strengthen the mosque’s role as a center for Muslim family development that is adaptive to the dynamics of the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) in poultry slaughtering practices. The research focuses on assessing the conformity of the slaughtering process with HAS standards and identifying factors that influence the effectiveness of its implementation. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, involving data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation using triangulation techniques. Data were analyzed descriptively through the processes of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of HAS has been carried out in accordance with Islamic principles, including the recitation of basmalah, the orientation toward the qibla, and the cutting of the three vital channels. However, weaknesses remain in documentation, internal audit routines, and staff training. These findings highlight the importance of comprehensive halal assurance implementation to ensure compliance with Islamic law while enhancing consumer trust in animal-based products. This study is expected to contribute to the strengthening of halal governance within the poultry slaughtering industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze differences in consumption patterns between permanent and contract employees at PT. Sadhana Purwosari Pasuruan within the framework of Islamic economic ethics. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations to understand how employment status influences economic behavior. The findings reveal that permanent employees, supported by income stability and job security, exhibit more balanced and planned consumption behavior. Their spending patterns reflect Islamic ethical principles such as tawazun (moderation), avoidance of israf (wastefulness), and the spirit of zuhud (simple living), as well as regular engagement in infaq and charitable giving. Conversely, contract employees tend to allocate a greater portion of their income to immediate needs and consumptive spending, often exceeding their financial capacity. Limited income stability and financial uncertainty hinder the implementation of Islamic consumption principles. The study concludes that employment stability significantly shapes one’s ability to practice ethical consumption. Therefore, it recommends the implementation of financial literacy programs based on Islamic ethical values and the development of workplace spiritual guidance to encourage responsible and balanced consumption behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the validity of using digital applications as mahr (bridal dower) in marriage from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian positive law. The rapid development of digital assets and their economic value has raised contemporary legal questions regarding their legitimacy as objects of mahr. Using a qualitative, library-based research method, this study analyzes classical fiqh literature, statutory regulations, and legal reasoning related to property ownership and transferability. The findings show that digital applications can be categorized into three types: freeware, lifetime license, and subscription-based applications. Through the application of qiyās (analogical reasoning), the study concludes that paid applications both lifetime and subscription-based—may serve as valid mahr because they have measurable value, lawful benefit, and transferable ownership, fulfilling the conditions required in Islamic law. In contrast, freeware lacks economic value and therefore does not meet the legal requirements for mahr. From the perspective of Indonesian law, as long as the object of mahr is mutually agreed upon and does not contradict religious or civil principles, digital applications with legitimate ownership rights may be considered valid.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding of the Girimulyo Village community regarding the prohibition of gotong dalan marriage, a traditional Javanese custom that forbids marriage between couples whose houses directly face each other without being separated by a crossroads. The purpose of this research is to explore how this prohibition is perceived and practiced by different generations and to assess its relevance from the perspective of Islamic legal principles, particularly through the concept of sadd adz-dzari‘ah (blocking the means to harm). This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the gotong dalan prohibition has no explicit foundation in Islamic law; however, the fiqh principle of sadd adz-dzari‘ah can be applied to interpret its function as a preventive effort to maintain social harmony and avoid potential conflicts within the community. The study highlights the importance of preserving local wisdom insofar as it does not contradict Islamic law, while fostering dialogue and education between customary norms and religious principles. In this way, traditional values may coexist with the protection of individual rights in marriage, contributing to a harmonious and just social order.

Abstract

This study explores the urgency of education for children with special needs (CSN) in light of Surah ‘Abasa (1-10) through Ibn Kathir’s exegesis. Using a qualitative library research method, the study analyzes classical and contemporary tafsir literature relevant to inclusive education. The findings highlight that Surah ‘Abasa conveys a fundamental message of equality in educational access. Allah’s admonition to the Prophet ﷺ regarding Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum, a blind companion, affirms that the right to education must not be restricted by physical limitations or social status. The analysis identifies four core values essential to inclusive education: equality, compassion, appreciation of potential, and inclusiveness. These values provide theological legitimacy for inclusive education in Islam while connecting classical exegesis with modern educational theory. The study contributes theoretically by enriching Islamic educational discourse, practically by guiding institutions to design inclusive learning, and at the policy level by supporting the implementation of inclusive education regulations in Indonesia. Future research should extend the discussion by examining other exegetical works, such as those of Al-Qurtubi and At-Tabari, and by conducting field studies in pesantren-based inclusive schools. This research thus strengthens the paradigm of Islamic education that is humanistic, inclusive, and just.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the criminal sanctions for the smuggling of imported second-hand clothing as stipulated in Article 102 of Law Number 17 of 2006 on Customs, viewed from the perspective of Islamic criminal law. The research employs a normative juridical method with a statutory and comparative approach, supported by secondary data derived from legal literature, statutory regulations, and official government reports. The findings indicate that the smuggling of imported second-hand clothing constitutes an economic crime that undermines fiscal integrity, public health, and the domestic textile industry. Article 102 provides for imprisonment and fines as sanctions, reflecting the taʿzir category in Islamic law, punishments determined by the ulil amri (legitimate authority) for maintaining public order and welfare. The analysis also reveals a strong alignment between positive law and Islamic criminal principles, particularly in achieving maqaṣid al-syari‘ah objectives such as the protection of wealth (ḥifẓ al-mal), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), and social stability. Therefore, strengthening law enforcement, border surveillance, and public awareness is essential to uphold justice and prevent recurrent smuggling practices that harm the nation’s economic and moral order.

Abstract

This study analyzes the wage system for scrap collectors in the context of Sharia economic law in Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency. Labor guidelines have not yet established clear wage standards for scrap collectors, who are part of the informal sector. Current wage practices still depend on verbal agreements between employers and workers without written contracts. The compatibility of the wage system with the principles of ijarah contracts in Islamic economic law was examined through a qualitative approach using field research methods. The results of the study show that the wage system for scrap workers does not fully meet the principles of fairness, clarity of object, and voluntary agreement that are important in ijarah contracts. Injustice and gharar, or uncertainty, can arise if it is unclear how wages, workloads, and payment times are determined. This contradicts sharia principles. To protect the rights of informal sector workers, this study recommends standardizing the wage system with reference to fairness in Islamic economic law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Questions Students Have (QSH) method and its impact on increasing students’ learning interest in the subject of Aqidah and Akhlak. Low learning interest among students is often caused by teaching methods that do not actively engage them in the learning process. The QSH method encourages students’ participation and curiosity by providing opportunities to express questions that arise during learning activities. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected from principals, subject teachers, and students through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify patterns and impacts of the QSH method. The results show that (1) the QSH method is implemented by distributing question sheets, allowing students to formulate questions individually, followed by group discussions; and (2) the method effectively increases learning interest, as reflected in students’ enthusiasm, attentiveness, willingness to ask questions, and active participation in discussions. Therefore, the QSH method can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy to foster students’ engagement and motivation in Aqidah and Akhlak learning.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relevance of the moral alues of Imam Al-Ghazali proposed in Bidayatul Hidayah in view of the practice of social relations of students of Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum, Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya. In this qualitative study case, one of the methods of the sample of ten key informants the principal (kiai), the teachers (ustadz), and the students was applied. These methods included the interviews and observation. The data was analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, while validity was established via source and methodological triangulation. Seven principal values emerged from the findings. These values are respect and courtesy, selectivity in friendship, selflessness, trust, constructive communication, empathy, and truthfulness. These values are internalized, and learned morals are translated during the practice, daily activities, and by the teacher's role model. The principles' internalization has been instrumental in nurturing and diminished social discord. This study illustrates the character education value of classical Islamic literature in later periods of the education system, and the bedrock of turath (Islamic tradition) on character education from Islamic literature.
