Abstract

Divorce does not merely terminate the marital relationship between husband and wife but may also create problems in fulfilling children’s rights and development when parental responsibilities are not continuously maintained. This study aims to analyze the nature, scope, and distribution of parental responsibilities toward children after divorce from a Qur’anic perspective through a thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) of QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 233 and QS. At-Talaq [65]: 6–7. This study employs a qualitative approach based on library research. Primary data consist of Qur’anic verses and authoritative classical and modern exegetical works, while secondary data are derived from relevant literature on Islamic family law and child protection. The data are analyzed textually, contextually, comparatively, and thematically. The findings demonstrate that divorce does not eliminate parental responsibilities toward children. Mothers play an important role in breastfeeding and caregiving, while fathers are responsible for providing financial support according to their capacity. These responsibilities are governed by the principles of ma‘rūf, tarāḍin, tashāwur, proportionality, and the prohibition of mutual harm. The study emphasizes the relevance of Qur’an-based co-parenting ethics for ensuring the protection and well-being of children after divorce

Abstract

This study examines the illumination of zoomorphic motifs in the Muṣḥaf of Raden Haji Abdul Majid, part of the collection of the Prabu Geusan Ulun Museum in Sumedang, which is important to preserve as an Islamic cultural heritage of religious, historical, artistic, and cultural value. The illumination represents local identity as well as the socio-cultural context of its copying. The study aims to analyze the formal characteristics, philosophical meaning, and contextualization of the zoomorphic motifs in the muṣḥaf. A qualitative descriptive-analytical method was employed, with data collected through interviews, field documentation, and library research, analyzed using philological, codicological, and Qur'anic anthropological approaches. The results show that the zoomorphic illumination in the muṣḥaf produced by Raden Haji Abdul Majid in 1856 CE is not merely ornamental, but represents the relationship between the Qur'an, local culture, and the process of Islamization in Sumedang. The Macan Ali motif at the beginning of Surah al-Kahf and at the end of Surah al-Falaq and al-Nās indicates the transmission of Cirebon culture to Sumedang as well as the acculturation of Islamic tradition with Tatar Sundanese cultural identity. This motif carries symbolic meanings of strength, protection, and steadfastness of faith, thus demonstrating aesthetic, cultural, and symbolic functions within the Qur'anic manuscript

Abstract

Even when a platform for national welfare is already in place, if leaders and citizens succumb to the maladies of unhealthy competition and power struggles driven by ambitions to control the state, appropriate the fruits of justice and welfare, and plunder the collective prosperity of the people the ethno-religious foundation becomes volatile and dangerously fragile. The dominance of interests by a specific ethno-religious group threatens to undermine efforts to build a cohesive nation-state both internally and externally as witnessed in the aftermath of Indonesia’s 1998 Reformasi (Reform Era). The nation-state foundation, which had remained solid for 53 years, was suddenly called into question following conflicts and violence within civil society. This context gave rise to the concept of "multicultural citizenship" a proposal envisioning a civil society order that plays a greater role in managing diversity based on culture, religion, ethnicity, gender, and other social ideologies, thereby transforming this diversity into social and cultural capital for the realization of democracy.

Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of digital hadith literacy among millennial santri, a generation of students growing up alongside smartphones, social media, and digital religious applications. The presence of information technology opens significant opportunities for expanding access to hadith texts, yet simultaneously gives rise to serious threats in the form of fabricated hadith, decontextualized excerpts, and the viral spread of religious content without adequate methodological verification. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a review of literature, patterns of religious media consumption, and hadith learning practices within pesantren that are adapting to digital culture. The findings indicate that millennial santri occupy an ambivalent position in digital hadith literacy, possessing far greater access to religious information than previous generations while remaining vulnerable to inauthentic hadith content due to insufficient mastery of sanad and matn criticism methodology needed to filter digital information. This article underscores the importance of pesantren in equipping santri with critical literacy skills that combine classical hadith science with digital information navigation competence, so that ease of access does not turn into a source of religious misunderstanding
