Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of perceived behavioral control and halal labeling on the purchase intention of Mixue beverage products among students of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 active students of Universitas Negeri Surabaya who had an interest in purchasing Mixue beverage products. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results indicate that perceived behavioral control has a significant effect on purchase intention toward Mixue beverage products. Halal labeling also has a significant effect on purchase intention. Furthermore, perceived behavioral control and halal labeling simultaneously have a significant effect on purchase intention. These findings indicate that students’ purchase intention is influenced not only by their perceived ability and ease of making a purchase but also by certainty regarding the halal status of the product. This study contributes to consumer behavior literature by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior and the Islamic consumption perspective to explain purchase intention toward contemporary beverage products.

Abstract

Indonesian Qur'anic scholarship tends to treat fakhūr as a generic synonym for arrogance and to dissolve it into discussions of riyā', takabbur, and 'ujb, thereby blurring its conceptual specificity and frequently misreporting its lexical distribution. This article reconstructs the conceptual structure of fakhūr through Toshihiko Izutsu's Qur'anic semantics basic meaning, syntagmatic and paradigmatic relational meaning, diachronic-synchronic analysis, and the reconstruction of the Qur'anic Weltanschauung while re-verifying all lexical data against al-Mu'jam al-Mufahras and primary lexicographical sources. Four findings emerge. First, the root f-kh-r occurs six times in the Qur'an, with the form fakhūr appearing only four times across four surahs (Q. 4:36; 11:10; 31:18; 57:23), while Q. 57:20 contains tafākhur and Q. 55:14 contains al-fakhkhār. Second, syntagmatically fakhūr is bound to three consistent nodes: an obligatory collocation with mukhtāl, affective instability (faraḥ-ya's), and most decisively an appositional (badal) relation to al-bukhl, as al-Zamakhsharī asserts for Q. 57:23–24 and as Q. 4:36-37 parallels. Third, diachronically the Qur'an does not negate the root f-kh-r wholesale but narrows its pejorative valence to the hyperbolic form and material referent, so that its positive derivatives survive in post-revelation Islamic tradition. Fourth, the Qur'anic Weltanschauung frames fakhūr not as a private psychological failing but as a distributive one: ostentation and avarice are two faces of a single disposition

Abstract

This study aims to historically analyze the evolution of education curricula in Indonesia during the implementation of the 1975, 1984, and 1994 Curricula and to identify the direction of curriculum policy changes toward the Reform Era. This study employed a literature review method using a descriptive-historical approach. Data were obtained through an examination of educational policy documents, scholarly literature, books, and other relevant sources concerning curriculum development in Indonesia. The data were analyzed descriptively and interpretively by examining the characteristics, learning orientations, driving factors, and implications of each curriculum for educational practices. The findings indicate that curriculum evolution reflects changes in educational orientation influenced by social dynamics, development needs, and government policies. The 1975 Curriculum emphasized systematic and structured instruction oriented toward the achievement of learning objectives within a centralized educational framework. The 1984 Curriculum strengthened student involvement through the Active Student Learning approach (Cara Belajar Siswa Aktif/CBSA), while the 1994 Curriculum integrated national and local content but was characterized by excessive material density and learning burdens. Entering the Reform Era, curriculum policy shifted toward educational decentralization and competency-oriented learning. These changes demonstrate that curriculum evolution represents an adaptive process in responding to changing societal needs and developments in national education policy

Abstract

This research reconstructs the concept of iḥtikār based on three āthār (narrations) in Imam Mālik's Bāb al-Ḥukrah from al-Muwaṭṭaʾ and applies it as an analytical framework to assess predatory pricing practices in the digital economy. Departing from the limitations of fiqh literature that narrowly defines iḥtikār as the hoarding of physical commodities, this normative, library-based legal study employs taḥlīl al-naṣṣ (textual analysis), maqāṣid al-sharīʿah (objectives of Islamic law), and commentaries by Mālikī scholars. The findings reveal that the normative construction of iḥtikār in al-Muwaṭṭaʾ has a broader scope, encompassing three dimensions: (1) market access monopolization by holders of surplus capital; (2) destruction of competition through pricing that undermines market structure; and (3) the necessity of systematic and sustainable state intervention to maintain market justice. Based on this reconstruction, predatory pricing practices on digital platforms—which leverage capital power to eliminate competitors, create market concentration, and reduce economic accessibility—are understood as a contemporary manifestation of iḥtikār. The novelty of this research lies in its reconstruction of the concept grounded directly in authoritative āthār, thereby producing a new normative framework capable of bridging the prophetic tradition with competition law challenges in the digital economy

Abstract

Lecturer competency development is an essential factor in improving the quality of higher education and the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. However, lecturers’ competencies do not always align with job demands and the evolving academic environment. Therefore, a training needs analysis is necessary to identify competency gaps and determine priorities for lecturer development programs. This study aims to analyze lecturer competencies and identify the training needs of lecturers at STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib Surabaya. The research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The population consisted of all 36 lecturers at STAI Ali bin Abi Thalib Surabaya, all of whom were included as research respondents. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring the importance and mastery levels of pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies. Data were analyzed using gap analysis by comparing the mean scores of importance and mastery for each competency. The findings revealed competency gaps across all dimensions, indicating the need for further development. Professional competence showed the highest average gap (1.03), followed by pedagogical competence (0.84), social competence (0.60), and personal competence (0.56). The primary training needs identified were research and scientific publication, the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technology, and instructional development. These findings can serve as a basis for designing more targeted and sustainable lecturer development programs.

Abstract

Bullying remains a common issue in elementary schools and can negatively affect students’ social, emotional, and academic development. The limited availability of learning media that present bullying topics in an engaging and interactive manner has become a challenge in helping students understand and prevent bullying behavior. This study aimed to develop a digital storybook on bullying for fifth-grade elementary school students and to determine its validity, practicality, and attractiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research participants included one material expert, one media expert, one fifth-grade teacher, and 26 fifth-grade students at SDN Pandanwangi 3 Malang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed that the developed media achieved validity scores of 3.6 from the material expert and 3.65 from the media expert, both categorized as highly valid. In addition, the practicality scores were 3.7 from the teacher and 3.6 from the students, indicating that the media was highly practical and attractive. Therefore, the digital storybook on bullying is considered feasible for use as a valid, practical, and engaging learning medium in elementary school classrooms

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening interreligious tolerance in multicultural public universities, considering that student diversity has the potential to trigger conflicts if not managed wisely. This qualitative case study aims to analyze students' tolerance attitudes, strategies for strengthening tolerance through religious education, as well as the challenges and solutions at Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with informants selected purposively, including students from various faculties, religious education lecturers, and monitoring team members. The findings reveal that students' tolerance attitudes are reflected in their appreciation of the existence and worship practices of other religions, inclusive social interactions, and avoidance of syncretism. Efforts to strengthen tolerance are pursued through curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular channels, including the Tafaqquh Fiddin student organization, UK3 (Christian Spiritual Activity Unit), and the Religious Moderation Center. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, such as limited worship facilities for non-Muslim students, a shortage of Catholic religious education lecturers, and the suboptimal implementation of interfaith dialogue-based learning. Proposed solutions encompass inclusive policies, the provision of temporary prayer rooms, and the reinforcement of interfaith activities to foster a harmonious and conducive campus climate for all members of the academic community

Abstract

Islamic inheritance law, through the farāʾiḍ system, provides legal certainty in the distribution of inheritance based on kinship and marital relationships. However, the transformation of contemporary Muslim family structures has highlighted the growing practice of caregiving for elderly parents, which has not yet been adequately recognized within the framework of Islamic inheritance law. This situation creates a gap between formal justice and substantive justice, as the social, economic, and emotional contributions of caregivers are not considered in the distribution of inherited assets. This study aims to analyze the limitations of Islamic inheritance law in accommodating caregiving contributions and to reconstruct its implementation through the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah. The study employs normative legal research using conceptual and Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah approaches by examining the Qur'an, Hadith, classical Islamic jurisprudence, and contemporary literature on the ethics of care. The findings reveal that the primary issue does not lie in the farāʾiḍ provisions, which are qaṭʿī (definitive) in nature, but rather in the underutilization of Islamic legal instruments such as hibah (inter vivos gifts), waṣiyyah (bequests), waṣiyyah wājibah (obligatory bequests), and takhāruj (voluntary redistribution among heirs) to recognize caregivers' contributions. This study proposes a reconstruction of Islamic inheritance law based on the ethics of care by integrating birr al-wālidayn (filial piety), the ethics of care, and Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah as a paradigm for implementing inheritance law. This reconstruction promotes substantive justice, family welfare, and the protection of human dignity while preserving the normative authority of the farāʾiḍ system.
