Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of drug abuse prevention policies and examine their implementation from the perspective of Siyasah Tanfidziyyah. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using field research. Data were obtained from primary and secondary sources through interviews and documentation. The informants consisted of officials from the North Lampung Regency Health Office, community leaders, and junior and senior high school students selected based on the relevance of their information to the research focus. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the drug abuse prevention policy has been implemented through socialization and educational activities, cross-sectoral coordination, and program evaluation. However, its implementation remains suboptimal due to budget constraints, limited health promotion personnel, and uneven coverage of socialization activities. From the perspective of Siyasah Tanfidziyyah, policy implementation reflects the principles of amanah in fulfilling governmental responsibilities, maslahah and dar’u al-mafasid in protecting society from the harmful effects of drug abuse, as well as ta’awun, justice, and mas’uliyyah in program implementation. These findings indicate that policy effectiveness is determined not only by the availability of programs but also by adequate resources, equitable implementation, and stronger collaboration between government and society

Abstract

Productive zakat is an instrument of Islamic philanthropy directed at empowering mustahik in a sustainable manner rather than merely fulfilling short-term consumptive needs. This study aims to analyze the role of business development as an intervening variable in the effect of productive zakat on mustahik welfare at the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Padang Lawas Regency. It employs an explanatory quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) processed with SmartPLS version 4.0. The sample was determined through a saturated sampling technique covering 74 mustahik who received productive zakat during 2021–2024. The results show that productive zakat has a positive and significant effect on mustahik welfare (β = 0.593; p < 0.05) and on business development (β = 0.753; p < 0.05), while business development has a positive and significant effect on mustahik welfare (β = 0.255; p < 0.05). The indirect-effect test confirms that business development partially mediates the effect of productive zakat on mustahik welfare (β = 0.192; p = 0.020) with a Variance Accounted For of 24.5%. These findings affirm that the effectiveness of productive zakat in improving welfare operates not only directly but also through strengthening mustahik business activities. The implication is that the success of productive zakat programs requires continuous business assistance rather than stopping at capital disbursement.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a needs-based discipline module design to support Guidance and Counseling services for tenth-grade students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach limited to five stages: identifying potentials and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. The participants were 50 tenth-grade students selected purposively. Data were collected using a discipline questionnaire consisting of 45 Likert-scale statements and analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The findings showed that students’ overall discipline level was categorized as moderately high, with a percentage of 61.30%. Among the indicators, academic responsibility obtained the highest percentage at 63.51%, whereas punctuality and attitudes and behavior were the lowest, each at 59.56%. These findings served as the basis for developing a module design containing materials, activities, reflection, evaluation, and follow-up components, with emphasis on aspects requiring reinforcement. The module design was subsequently validated by material, language, and media experts and revised based on their assessments and suggestions. The study produced an initial module design aligned with students’ disciplinary needs, while its practicality and effectiveness require further testing in subsequent research

Abstract

This research analyzes the semantic meaning of QS. al-A‘rāf verse 22 through a comparative study between the classical tafsir Jāmi‘ al-Bayān by Imam al-Ṭabarī and the scientific tafsir Azanal-An‘ām by Sheikh Imad Muhammad Babakar Hasan, an Egyptian doctor. The focus is on key phrases: fa-dallāhumā bi-ghurūr, badat lahumā sawātuhumā, and wa-ṭafiqā yakhṣifāni ‘alayhimā min waraq al-jannah. A qualitative method with a library research approach and semantic analysis is employed. Primary data are drawn from both tafsir works, while secondary data come from tafsir literature, Qur'anic semantics, and Arabic linguistics. The findings show that al-Ṭabarī uses a tradition-based approach (bi al-ma’tsūr), relying on Arabic language, hadith, and the sayings of companions and successors. In contrast, the scientific tafsir develops a contextual interpretation by linking the verses to scientific, psychological, and human aspects, without abandoning the moral message. Both agree on the basic meaning but differ in their development and orientation. Al-Ṭabarī preserves textual authority, while the scientific tafsir expands relevance to modern knowledge. This study demonstrates that different interpretive approaches enrich meaning without undermining the substance of the Qur'an

Abstract

Psychological pressures in modern life require coping mechanisms rooted not only in individual capacities but also in spirituality and community support. This study examines the implementation of the Tasbih prayer and collective remembrance as a Living Qur’an practice and their contribution to strengthening the psychological resilience of congregants at the PERMADANI Dhikr Assembly in North Sumatra. This qualitative research employed a descriptive field-study design. Data were collected from 21 June to 2 August 2026 from three purposively selected informants: a member of the advisory board, the chairperson of PERMADANI North Sumatra, and one congregant. Participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation were used to collect data, which were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data credibility was examined through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the habituation of the Tasbih prayer, collective remembrance, interactive religious lectures, and social support creates a spiritual sanctuary that fosters inner tranquility, muraqabah, positive meaning-making in adversity, and solidarity among congregants. These practices support the development of adaptive psychospiritual coping strategies. The findings highlight the potential of community-based religious activities to complement initiatives aimed at strengthening mental health and social resilience.

Abstract

The development of the metaverse has expanded Generation Z’s social interactions from direct encounters to virtual environments that facilitate communication, identity construction, and social activities through digital avatars. Despite its various opportunities, interaction in the metaverse also raises ethical concerns, including the dissemination of unverified information, cyberbullying, verbal harassment, identity manipulation, privacy violations, and diminished accountability resulting from user anonymity. This study aims to analyse Qur’anic principles that can serve as an ethical foundation for Generation Z’s social interactions in the metaverse. It employs qualitative library research with a descriptive-analytical approach. The primary sources consist of relevant Qur’anic verses and works of Qur’anic exegesis, while the supporting sources include books and scholarly articles addressing digital ethics, Generation Z, and the metaverse. The data are analysed thematically by identifying, classifying, and interpreting the ethical themes found in the selected sources. The findings demonstrate that ethical interaction in the metaverse can be developed through the principles of tabayyun, qaulan sadidan, the prohibition of ridicule and insult, the protection of dignity and privacy, and accountability for digital information and actions. These principles constitute an ethical framework encompassing information integrity, responsible communication, human dignity, privacy protection, and digital accountability. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive integration of Qur’anic ethical values into the context of Generation Z’s social interactions in the metaverse

Abstract

This study responds to two opposing assumptions: that moral perfection is a prerequisite for covering the awrah and that compliance with Islamic dress can be separated from its spiritual dimension. It aims to examine the relationship between the command to cover the awrah in Surah al-Nūr verse 31 and the concept of libās al-taqwā in Surah al-A‘rāf verse 26 through the interpretations of al-Qurṭubī, Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī, and M. Quraish Shihab. This qualitative library research employs a comparative Qur’anic exegesis (muqāran) method. Primary data consist of the two verses and the three exegetes’ interpretations, while secondary data are drawn from books and scholarly articles. The data are analyzed by identifying linguistic elements and verse contexts, comparing the interpretations, and constructing a conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that covering the awrah constitutes an outward religious obligation that does not depend on the attainment of moral perfection, whereas libās al-taqwā represents inward qualities of piety, modesty, and righteous conduct. The two verses therefore reveal a processual relationship between outward obedience and moral formation rather than a hierarchy that separates them. This finding positions covering the awrah as part of spiritual development and discourages moral judgment against those undergoing that process

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the value of ta’awun (mutual assistance) in the Qur’an through a thematic interpretation (maudẓū‘ī) and its implementation in post-flood trauma healing activities conducted by volunteers from the Gerakan Sumut Mengajar in Batuhula Village, Batang Toru District, in 2025. This qualitative study employed observation, interviews with four informants, and documentation, with data analyzed through reduction, presentation, and verification. The thematic interpretation focused on QS. Al-Ma’idah [5]: 2 and QS. Al-Taubah [9]: 71. The findings indicate that ta’awun encompasses both a vertical dimension in relation to Allah and a horizontal dimension in relation to others, as explained by Ibn Kathir and M. Quraish Shihab as an obligation to support one another in goodness, including during disasters. Interviews with Zahra, Nainggolan, Marnik, and Ratna demonstrate that activities such as play-based assistance, learning, joint coloring, educational games, and psychosocial support reflect the practical implementation of ta’awun. These activities were supported by the victims’ openness and collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and medical personnel, although recurring psychological anxiety and unmet material needs remained challenges. The study concludes that ta’awun can serve as a normative foundation for volunteer-based post-disaster recovery while remaining distinct from clinical psychological interventions, emphasizing the strengthening of social solidarity and community resilience.

Abstract

Curriculum innovation at the educational unit level is often adopted reactively without a strong methodological foundation, causing reform to focus more on administrative compliance than on sustainable pedagogical transformation. This issue is particularly complex in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which requires the ability to contextualize spiritual and moral values within students’ contemporary realities. This article aims to propose an original theoretical framework, namely the Ecological-Adaptive Curriculum Innovation Theory Formulation Method (MPEA). The study employs a conceptual Design-Based Research (DBR) approach integrated with qualitative Grounded Theory analysis. MPEA is formulated through four cyclical phases: deconstruction of constants, conceptual co-creation, prototyping through resonance testing, and organic theory formulation. The analysis indicates that MPEA has the potential to minimize structural resistance, reduce teaching burnout, and create space for teachers’ legitimate pedagogical ijtihad in developing contextualized content differentiation. This framework is expected to serve as a methodological compass for academics and policymakers in developing curriculum innovation theories that are deeply rooted in local philosophical values while remaining optimally adaptive to global change.

Abstract

This article examines how disaster reactivates kinship networks and shapes functionally extended family patterns among residents of Kampung Banjar, Mataram, following the 2018 Lombok earthquakes. Drawing on qualitative empirical research based on observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, the analysis traces relational changes before, during, and after the crisis. Kinship is treated as a social practice rather than merely a genealogical tie or a form of co-residence. The findings show that extended-family networks had not disappeared before the earthquakes, but in some families they operated with limited intensity. The disaster functioned as a disruptive moment that altered the relevance of these networks: relatives resumed searching for one another, communicating, gathering, circulating resources, and providing protection and care. These functions could be sustained even when family members continued to live in separate households, making the post-disaster pattern intelligible as a functionally extended family. Yet reactivation did not persist uniformly. In some families, intensified ties were largely situational and declined as everyday routines resumed; in others, crisis-generated practices became more enduring. The article argues that post-disaster family change is better understood through the renewed capacity of kinship networks to work than through household composition or emotional closeness alone across the longer recovery process.
