Abstract

The Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 places education as the main pillar in creating superior human resources. School Participation Rate (APS) data is an important indicator to evaluate student access and participation in education. This study utilizes the K-Means Clustering method to analyze APS big data to identify patterns of education participation in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show significant participation clusters based on demographic, socio-economic, and geographical factors, and reveal gaps and potential for education improvement in various regions. In this study, RapidMiner is used as an analysis tool to process and visualize APS data. The results of clustering show a striking difference between areas with good access to education and areas with poor access to education. Factors such as income levels, educational infrastructure, and geographical location were found to have a major impact on student participation rates. Strategic recommendations include increasing access to education in disadvantaged areas through equitable distribution of education facilities, infrastructure development, and flexible data-based policies. In addition, scholarship programs in vulnerable areas are also proposed as a solution. This research supports strategic efforts towards the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 by providing a strong foundation for policies that focus on the sustainability of national education.

Abstract

This study predicts cigarette consumption per capita in Medan City using the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) model. The problem faced is the fluctuation and increasing trend of cigarette consumption which requires accurate prediction. The SES model was chosen due to its ability to capture historical data and produce accurate forecasts. To test the accuracy of the model, three prediction error indicators were used, namely Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results of the analysis show that the SES model has low MSE, MAD, and MAPE values, which indicates a high level of accuracy. For the type of filter clove cigarettes, the MAPE value is 9.43%, for clove cigarettes without filter, the MAPE value is 27.77%, white cigarettes MAPE value is 27.73%, tobacco MAPE value is 38.13% and for other types of cigarettes and tobacco 33.20% where the accuracy results are good. The predictions generated by this model show an increasing trend of consumption in Medan City. These predictions provide important insights for policymakers in designing cigarette consumption control. This study thus confirms the effectiveness of the SES model in predicting per capita cigarette consumption in Indonesia. It makes a significant contribution to the literature on tobacco product consumption prediction.

Abstract

Depression is a serious mental condition that affects both individuals and society. The Random Forest algorithm will be used in this project to create a depression categorization model based on work pressure and lifestyle characteristics. The Depression Professional Dataset was analyzed using the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) approach, which included 2,054 data points with 11 factors such as age, work pressure, working hours, sleep habits, and family mental health history. The results showed that the Random Forest algorithm classified depressive states with 91% accuracy. The investigation found that age was the most important predictor, followed by work pressure, working hours, and job happiness. In contrast, gender and family mental health history had a smaller impact. This study demonstrates that the risk factors for depression are multifaceted, including demography and work pressure. These findings can be used to develop mental health preventive and intervention methods in the workplace. Future model development can include new factors, such as socioeconomic status, to produce a more comprehensive study

Abstract

The number of civil servants is a crucial factor in determining budget allocation, human resource planning and the provision of public services. In Medan City, the number of civil servants has decreased from year to year based on data from the North Sumatra Province Central Statistics Agency. The uncertainty of the number of civil servants from year to year makes forecasting the number of civil servants a challenging task and requires appropriate analytical methods. Therefore, an analysis of the estimated number of civil servants is needed to determine the right policy. One method that can be used is Single Exponential Smoothing (SES). Based on the results of testing predictions for the number of civil servants in the city of Medan for the 2023 period using alpha SES of α0.1, α0.3, α0.5, α0.7 and α0.9, it was found that using alpha 0.7 gave prediction results with a Mean Square Error value the smallest is 26515890 and the predicted number of civil servants is 11867 people in 2023. The prediction results can be used by local governments to plan human resource needs, including recruitment, training or development of civil servants according to future needs.

Abstract

According to the 2018 PISA results, Indonesian students' creative thinking skills remain low. This study aims to analyze students' creative thinking in logo design through Problem-Based Learning (PBL) using a web-based e-portfolio. The research followed the ADDIE model. In the Analysis phase, students' creative thinking needs were identified; the Design and Development phases involved constructing the PBL framework and configuring the e-portfolio platform. During the Implementation phase, students worked in groups of 3-4 over three weeks on logo design tasks, documenting their processes and receiving feedback via the e-portfolio. In the Evaluation phase, student progress was monitored, and portfolios were qualitatively assessed for improvements in creative thinking. A sample of 34 high school students was selected through convenient sampling based on class scheduling. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and student portfolios and analyzed qualitatively using creative thinking dimensions of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Overall, 50% of students’ performances across all dimensions were rated "Very Good," and 47.5% were rated "Good." The use of e-portfolios facilitated self-reflection and iterative feedback, demonstrating a positive impact on creative thinking skills. These findings suggest that e-portfolios can be effectively integrated into broader educational contexts to enhance creative thinking.
