Abstract

Kersen leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) and jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus L.) are tropical plants that grow in Indonesia. The phytochemical content of kersen leaves and jackfruit leaves include flavonoids, tannins and saponins. Flavonoids have antibacterial properties because they can fight bacteria in several ways. These substances can interfere with the formation of bacterial genetic material (nucleic acids), damage cell membranes that maintain the contents of bacterial cells, and inhibit the processes used by bacteria to produce energy. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of secondary metabolite compounds against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria contained in kersen leaves and jackfruit leaves. The research method used is experimental. The sample in this study was a combination of 96% ethanol extract of kersen leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) and jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus. L). The yield of extracts obtained in kersen leaves amounted to 32.1% and avocado leaves 25.42%. Phytochemical screening showed that both samples contained secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins and saponins. The combination of kersen leaf and jackfruit leaf extracts at a concentration ratio of 80:50% and has an average inhibition zone with high effectiveness of 11.10 mm which is classified as strong. This shows that there is a difference, the inhibition zone is better than ampicillin in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Aspek positive relations with others dan personal growth menunjukkan proporsi skor tinggi terbanyak, sedangkan environmental mastery, dan purpose in life memiliki skor rendah yang dominan.

Abstract

The prospective bride and groom are strategic targets for health improvement during the preconception period. Public awareness of preconception health is still low. Counseling, information, and education are highly needed by prospective brides and grooms, especially as they prepare for a healthy pregnancy. The research method was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews using a structured interview guide. The data was validated using data triangulation. Based on input indicators, the administrative staff needed includes midwives, doctors, laboratory analysts, health promotion personnel, and village heads/village staff. HRM competencies include knowledge, the premarital screening process, SOPs, and screening fees. The performance of program implementers is evaluated by the reproductive health program holders, cluster 2 managers, coordinating midwives, and health center heads. The source of funds comes from the State Budget and Regional Budgets, including the implementation of the premarital screening program. The target group is very supportive of the screening program. Based on process indicators, there are no supervision procedures yet. The planning SOP is approved by the head of the health center. The organization follows the SOP, which aligns with the work program in Cluster 2. The coverage of the premarital screening program is measured through reporting from the Kescatin application. Based on output indicators, whether the premarital screening program requirements have been met or not is only assessed based on the health certificates issued by the Puskesmas for the prospective bride and groom. It is hoped that the Puskesmas (Community Health Centers) will need to improve the quality of the premarital screening program by arranging a strategic plan to enhance the performance of program implementers and facilities and by collaborating with various sectors to achieve the set targets and goals.

Abstract

Self-care is an effort to develop a health system in which patients and their families participate in their care. Patients and families are partners in making health decisions and ensuring that these decisions align with the goals of improving health and sustaining life. Self-care in post-stroke patients includes adherence to treatment, maintaining physical health (diet, avoiding smoking, alcohol consumption, and consuming high-cholesterol foods), managing stress, consulting with healthcare professionals, and providing social support for self-care. This study is a non-experimental study with a correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. The population was 200 post-stroke patients in the Tuban Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area. The sample size was 130 respondents selected using cluster random sampling. The independent variable was quality of life, while the dependent variable was self-care. The research instrument used was a questionnaire measured using the Spearman rank sum test. The statistical test results using the SPSS application yielded a significance value of 0.000, indicating p < 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between quality of life and self-care in post-stroke patients in the Tuban Community Health Center work area. To increase insight into self-care quality of life in post-stroke patients in the Tuban Community Health Center work area

Abstract

Population growth has contributed to gout becoming a global health issue with a significant prevalence rate. According to WHO data in 2017, the global prevalence of gout reached 34.2%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of doctor-diagnosed gout among the population aged ≥ 15 years reached 7.30%, with Bali recording 10.46% and Buleleng Regency reaching 12.93% (Riskesdas, 2018). WHO has recognized Body Mass Index (BMI) as the best epidemiological measure to evaluate overweight or underweight and is a potential risk factor for various metabolic problems, including increased uric acid levels. This study aimed to determine the relationship between BMI and uric acid levels at Kubutambahan II Public Health Center in 2025. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, aiming to analyze the relationship between variables at a single point in time. Secondary data were used, consisting of medical records with a sample size of 45 patients. Data analysis included univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution of the independent variable (BMI) and dependent variable (uric acid levels), as well as bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test to examine the relationship between the two variables. The results showed a weak positive correlation between BMI and uric acid levels, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.344 (0.20-0.399) which Indicated an increase in BMI tends to be followed by an increase in uric acid levels. The results also showed a p- value of 0.021 (< 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between BMI and uric acid levels.

Abstract

Public health significantly impacts a country's progress and resilience, particularly through economic growth, human development, and social stability. Outbreaks are a serious public health issue because they can disrupt the health system, increase the burden of disease, and lead to inequity in services. This study aims to develop a health dashboard to monitor and analyze outbreaks in East Kalimantan. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Satu Data Kalimantan Timur were used to develop the dashboard. The District/City Health Profile Technical Guidelines were used to assist in compiling the dashboard data sources. This research method employed action research with a quantitative descriptive approach. This study successfully developed a dashboard with three levels of analysis. The first level consisted of scorecards and controls; the second, area maps and bar charts; and the third, line charts and heatmap tables. The KPI using the scorecard showed a 0% validity tolerance in the KPI calculation accuracy test. In the interactive functionality test, cross-filtering and control filters worked as expected. From the 2024 data analysis, the rapid response ratio for areas affected by outbreaks and conducting epidemiological investigations was 1.69% in Samarinda City. Meanwhile, Balikpapan City had the highest rapid response rate, with 5.88%. This study's findings indicated a data anomaly in the Satu Data Kalimantan Timur data, as evidenced by a service coverage ratio exceeding 100%. The number of residents in the outbreak- affected areas receiving services, according to the Satu Data Kalimantan Timur standard, exceeds the population recorded in the 2024 BPS data.

Abstract

Escherichia coli is a Gam-negative, short rod-shaped, non-spore-forming bacterium that normally inhabits the human intestine. However, when its population exceeds the normal limit or when it relocates from its natural habitat (the large intestine) to other parts of the body, it can pose a serious health risk. Numerous reports have indicated increasing antibiotic resistance in E. coli, which has encouraged the use of natural products for disease prevention and treatment. Honey and red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) are among the natural ingredients known to contain antibacterial compounds such as polyphenols, flavonoids, glycosides, and phenolic derivatives including gingerol and shogaol. This study aimed to determine the inhibitory activity of Amfoang honey enriched with red ginger extract (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) against the growth of Escherichia coli. Red ginger extracts at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% were mixed with wild honey in a 1:1 ratio. Antibacterial testing was conducted using the disc diffusion method. Amoxicillin 30 µg served as the positive control, while a blank disc soaked in sterile distilled water was used as the negative control. After 24 hours of incubation, inhibition zone diameters were recorded as 24.1 mm, 25.0 mm, 24.0 mm, and 15.8 mm for concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, respectively. These results indicate that the 50% concentration produced the geatest antibacterial activity, with an inhibition zone of 25.0 mm.
