Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels due to impaired insulin production or use. The global prevalence of DM in 2021 reached 10.5% and is projected to increase to 12.2% by 2045. In Indonesia, the prevalence of DM in 2021 was recorded at 10.8% or around 19.5 million cases, while in Bekasi Regency, the prevalence of T2DM in 2022 reached 8.04% per 100 population. This study aims to evaluate the effect of Stevia (Steviol Glycosides) extract consumption on reducing blood sugar levels in T2DM patients. The research method used a quasi-experiment design with two group pre-post design, involving 76 T2DM patients who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group given Stevia extract and the control group without treatment. The results of data analysis showed that before the intervention, there was a significant difference in blood sugar levels between the two groups (p = 0.000), with higher blood sugar levels in the intervention group. After the intervention, Stevia extract consumption was shown to significantly reduce blood sugar levels compared to the control group (p = 0.023). The conclusion of this study is that Stevia extract consumption has a significant effect on reducing blood sugar levels in T2DM patients, so it can be considered as a complementary therapy in the management of type 2 DM in the community.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the ongoing negotiations between Indonesia and China regarding the Natuna Islands from the perspective of international law. As a maritime nation comprising over 17,000 islands, Indonesia possesses vast territorial waters and abundant natural resources, including fisheries, minerals, and hydrocarbons. These assets render territorial disputes inevitable, particularly in contested maritime zones. The Natuna Islands, located in the northern part of Indonesia's exclusive economic zone (EEZ), have emerged as a focal point of contention with China, whose expansive claims in the South China Sea overlap with Indonesia's sovereign rights. The dispute stems from China's assertion of historical rights over the South China Sea, encapsulated in its "nine-dash line," which Indonesia rejects as incompatible with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Under UNCLOS, coastal states like Indonesia are entitled to an EEZ extending up to 200 nautical miles, encompassing rights to exploit resources and enforce jurisdiction. Incidents, such as Chinese fishing vessels entering Indonesian waters in 2016, have escalated tensions, prompting diplomatic protests and military patrols. These clashes highlight the broader geopolitical rivalry, where China's Belt and Road Initiative intersects with Indonesia's strategic interests. The ramifications of this unresolved dispute are multifaceted. Economically, it fosters instability by deterring foreign investment in resource-rich areas like the Natuna's oil fields, potentially costing billions in lost revenue. Globally, it contributes to polarization, exacerbating divisions between Western-aligned nations and those like China, while straining ASEAN unity. Politically, it undermines Indonesia's domestic stability, fueling nationalist sentiments and social unrest amid rising populism. Socially, it burdens communities dependent on maritime livelihoods, exacerbating issues like illegal fishing and environmental degradation. In light of these consequences, a peaceful resolution is imperative. Pursuing such an outcome could enhance economic prosperity through collaborative oil exploration, ensuring equitable resource sharing under international oversight. Improved border monitoring and management, facilitated by joint patrols or technology transfers, would mitigate incursions and foster trust.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium-sized coffee shops (MSME) in Sukabumi City face increasingly intense competition, necessitating effective business strategies to boost sales volume. This study examines the effects of business innovation strategies and product differentiation strategies on the sales volume of MSME coffee shops in Sukabumi City. A descriptive-associative method with a quantitative approach was employed; the sample comprised 114 MSME owners selected via saturated sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and F and t tests using SPSS. The results indicate that both business innovation and product differentiation strategies have positive and significant effects on sales volume. The regression analysis yielded a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.517, meaning that 51.7% of the variation in sales volume is explained by these two variables, while the remaining 48.3% is attributable to other factors outside this study. These findings underscore the importance of implementing innovations in processes, products, and organization, as well as creating differentiation in products, services, and brand image to enhance competitiveness and sales of MSME coffee shops in Sukabumi City.

Abstract

Language ethics in the digital era are a crucial moral foundation for building a civilized communication civilization. Social media, as a modern public space, has shifted the function of language from a mere communication tool to a determinant of image, opinion, and social identity. However, freedom of expression is often misused as a means of spreading hate speech, sarcasm, body shaming, and hoaxes. Various studies (Rozak et al., 2023; Wijayanti et al., 2022; Ramdlanah, 2022) show that the crisis in language ethics is correlated with low digital literacy, moral degradation, and a loss of empathy in online interactions. Polite language reflects not only individual character but also national dignity. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy and language ethics education need to be integrated into the national education system as an effort to foster a civilized digital character. Amidst viral culture and the post-truth era, language ethics serves as a moral filter to maintain truth and social harmony. In conclusion, language ethics is not simply a matter of politeness, but a reflection of the nation's moral, social, and spiritual values, determining the direction of Indonesia's digital civilization.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the US–China trade war on trade volume shifts and port capacity dynamics at Singapore Port, the leading transshipment hub in Southeast Asia. Escalating tariffs between the two major economies triggered supply chain restructuring, rerouting of shipping lines, and increased reliance on alternative logistics pathways within ASEAN. Using a descriptive qualitative method and secondary data from MPA, PSA International, UNCTAD, WTO, and related academic sources, the findings reveal that despite global uncertainty leading to overall trade slowdowns, Singapore maintained its operational resilience through digitalization, efficiency improvements, and the expansion of the Tuas Mega Port. Strong network connectivity and an integrated maritime ecosystem underpin Singapore’s competitiveness amid global trade disruptions, even as high dependency on transshipment remains a long-term strategic vulnerability.

Abstract

Koperasi Serba Usaha (KSU) Yoga Sedana is a microfinance institution that plays an important role in providing savings and loan services to the community. However, the cooperative’s dependence on high-interest deposit products poses financial risks, especially in the event of interest rate fluctuations or simultaneous withdrawals by members. This study aims to analyze the savings product diversification strategies implemented by KSU Yoga Sedana, identify the challenges and opportunities encountered, and assess their impact on the cooperative’s financial stability and member participation. The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Primary data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the cooperative’s management, managers, and members. Meanwhile, secondary data were collected from financial reports, internal documents, and relevant academic references. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to explore diversification strategies and their implications for the cooperative’s financial risk management. The study reveals that over the past five years KSU Yoga Sedana has relied heavily on high-interest deposits, creating liquidity risks during interest rate shifts. Diversification strategies were implemented through products such as flexible term savings, daily savings, and thematic savings. These strategies successfully reduced the proportion of high-interest deposits and increased low-cost funds, thereby lowering dependency risks. The findings confirm that product diversification enhances financial stability and encourages member participation. Overall, diversification proves to be an essential step in strengthening the financial resilience of KSU Yoga Sedana.

Abstract

Ménière’s disease (MD) is a chronic inner ear disorder marked by recurrent vertigo, tinnitus, aural fullness, and sensorineural hearing loss. It represents 7–8% of vertigo cases in outpatient settings and often leads to significant disability. The absence of a gold standard diagnostic test remains a challenge for accurate and timely diagnosis. A narrative review was conducted in line with Scale for the Quality Assessment of Narrative Review Articles (SANRA) guidelines. Literature searches were performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar using the terms (“Meniere's Disease” OR “Vertigo” OR “Auditory”) AND (“diagnostic examination” OR “diagnostic test”), limited to the last 10 years. Eligible studies were human research evaluating diagnostic methods for MD, available in full text. Nine studies met inclusion criteria: three observational cohort, four retrospective study, two prospective study, one structured review. Diagnostic methods assessed included audiometry, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP), Electrocochleography (ECochG), Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT), and hydrops-sensitive Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Among these, MRI emerged as the most promising technique for early and reliable diagnosis. MD is a multidimensional condition involving auditory, vestibular, and neuropsychological systems. Hydrops MRI holds strong potential as a future diagnostic standard, but further multicenter validation is required before its widespread clinical adoption.

Abstract

This study examines the branding challenges of PT Multibina Teknika Utama, a B2B distributor of laboratory equipment in Indonesia. Although the company has strong technical capability and good after-sales service, its brand visibility is low because it rarely appears in Google search results, is difficult to find on e-Katalog LKPP, and has inconsistent product content and digital presentation. These issues make new buyers unaware of the company unless they receive recommendations. The research aims to (analyze Multibina’s current B2B branding strategy and propose solutions to improve its brand awareness and corporate image. A qualitative method was used through semi-structured interviews with internal staff and institutional buyers, supported by digital observations. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis and gap analysis. The findings show five key issues: low discoverability, weak digital content, strong service-based trust, increasing digital expectations from buyers, and limited internal capability for branding. Based on these findings, the study recommends improving digital visibility, standardizing product content, strengthening digital credibility, and developing internal readiness to support branding activities.
