Abstract

Islamic boarding schools face a number of fundamental problems, such as weak institutional governance, limited quality and quantity of human resources, low mastery of Information and Communication Technology, an underdeveloped research culture, limited infrastructure, and suboptimal data quality. The implementation of a web-based information system in Islamic boarding schools is necessary to maintain a balance between technological modernization and the preservation of Islamic values. The method for implementing community service is designed with a participatory and applicative approach. The activity stages are arranged into three main parts, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The findings indicate that the implementation of a web-based system in Islamic boarding schools is considered highly effective because it not only improves the technical aspects of services but also transforms work mechanisms to be more systematic, fast, and easily accessible. Web-based information systems in Islamic boarding schools can be seen as a strategic necessity in facing the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, but their impact will be optimal only if accompanied by strengthening organizational capacity and sustainable management. Islamic boarding schools need to formulate a more targeted digital transformation policy so that the development of web-based information systems in Islamic boarding schools does not stop at the creation stage, but continues to active, integrated, and sustainable use.

Abstract

Microenterprises in the tailoring service sector continue to face limitations in utilizing digital media for marketing, resulting in suboptimal promotional reach and sales performance. This community service program aimed to enhance entrepreneurs' capacity to use TikTok as a digital marketing platform to expand promotional outreach and increase sales volume. The program was conducted on May 29, 2026, at Uli Kebaya Tailoring Service, Pematang Raya Market, Simalungun Regency, employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The activities included educational sessions, demonstrations on TikTok utilization, hands-on assistance in developing promotional content, and a 28-day self-evaluation period from May 30 to June 26, 2026. The results demonstrated that the business owner successfully managed the TikTok account independently and consistently uploaded six promotional videos during the mentoring period. These videos generated a total of 27,860 views, 823 likes, 39 comments, 129 saves, and 19 shares. Throughout the evaluation period, the TikTok account achieved 97,900 total views and approximately 3,000 likes, with most audience reach originating from the For You Page (FYP) feature, indicating the effectiveness of organic content distribution. In addition to improving the participant's digital marketing competencies, the implementation of TikTok also produced an initial business impact, evidenced by the acquisition of two new customers following account activation. These findings suggest that practice-based training combined with continuous mentoring is effective in strengthening the digital marketing capabilities of micro-enterprise owners while creating opportunities for broader market expansion.

Abstract

The partner in this community service activity is the Integrated People's School 9 Banjarbaru with 48 teachers and educational staff participating. This school is relatively new and has been operating for approximately eight months. The problems faced are the limited competence of teachers in recognizing early signs of students' psychosocial problems, a lack of understanding of Psychological First Aid (PFA), and teachers' uncertainty in providing initial psychological support to students experiencing emotional distress. The solution offered is the implementation of group-based training and psychoeducation on Psychological First Aid (PFA). The target outputs to be achieved are increasing teacher competence in identifying psychosocial problems, implementing empathetic communication, providing initial psychological support, and understanding the referral mechanism to professionals. The implementation method is carried out through initial discussions, interactive material delivery, case discussions, PFA implementation simulations, reflection sessions, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity show a significant increase in participants' understanding and competence regarding the implementation of PFA in the school environment. This activity has proven effective in strengthening teachers' readiness to provide initial psychosocial support and supporting the creation of a more supportive and responsive school environment for students' mental health.

Abstract

Writing ability in English particularly subject-verb agreement requires strong grammar mastery as the core of constructing correct sentences. However, the eighth grade of junior high students in Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Ghozali, Gunung Sindur have difficulty in using Subject -Verb Agreement, particularly in the present tense and present progressive tense. The causes of having much more theories and lacking of writing practice in English make them have low understanding and confidence in using English in the class. This Community Service (PKM) is aimed to enhance students’ understanding in Grammar, to improve students writing in English, and to build their confidence through interactive and applied learning. The method was conducted through observation, pre-test, presentation delivery, interactive game, error analysis, writing practice, and post test. The material is focusing on the use of subject-verb agreement in writing English text. The activity was conducted on Sunday, 12 April 2026 at Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Ghozali, Gunung Sindur, Bogor. The results show a significant improvement in students’ understading indicated by the rise in the average pre-test score from 45% to 76% at the stage of error analysis, and a further increase to 85% in the post-test, representing a total improvement of 40%. These findings imply that an interactive teaching approach combined with error analysis is effective in enhancing students’ ability to apply subject-verb agreement rule in English text.

Abstract

Excessive use of chemical pesticides can have adverse effects on the environment, human health, and the sustainability of the agricultural sector. One viable solution is to utilize shallot skin waste as a botanical pesticide. This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Danger Village residents in processing shallot skin waste into natural pesticides to support sustainable agriculture. The methods employed included awareness-raising sessions, training, hands-on production of the botanical pesticide, and an evaluation using post-test questionnaires completed by 51 participants. The results indicated that 64.7% of participants understood the benefits of botanical pesticides, while 58.8% understood the production process. Participant satisfaction with the training was high, with an average score of 4.53 out of 5; notably, 88.2% of participants rated the training a 4 or 5. In addition to increasing participant knowledge, the activity resulted in a botanical pesticide product made from shallot skins that can serve as an alternative for natural pest control. As a follow-up measure, the service team conducted outreach across all hamlets in Danger Village to broaden the dissemination of information and encourage the continued use of botanical pesticides. This initiative demonstrates that utilizing shallot skin waste has the potential to support organic waste management and the adoption of more environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

Abstract

Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu) play a crucial role in monitoring maternal and child health at the village level. However, manual administrative record-keeping at the Posyandu in Danger Village has hindered data recapitulation and the early detection of nutritional issues among toddlers. This community service initiative aimed to equip Posyandu volunteers with the skills to operate an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Posyandu Management System for monitoring the growth and development of children aged 0–59 months. The implementation employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach comprising four stages: needs assessment, design of a WhatsApp-integrated system, dissemination and training, and mentoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated an improvement in the digital skills of 70 volunteers, enabling them to independently migrate from conventional data collection to a digital platform. Data for 62 toddlers was successfully entered, and the system's automated WhatsApp notification feature successfully delivered health assessment results to parents in real-time. The primary challenge identified was limited internet network infrastructure at the service location. The program highlights the importance of network infrastructure support from the village government to ensure the sustainability of healthcare service digitalization.

Abstract

Perianesthesia education is essential for improving patient safety. However, a needs assessment at RS TK II Udayana identified gaps in the delivery of structured perianesthesia education. This program aimed to improve the knowledge of patients and families through the implementation of the ATIKA (Integrated Access to Anesthesia Health Information) method based on the Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC) approach. A one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted involving 20 patients and their family members scheduled to undergo anesthesia. Educational interventions were delivered using PowerPoint, leaflets, and the ATIKA Digital Booklet. Participants knowledge was assessed using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The proportion of participants with good knowledge increased from 25% (n = 5) to 75% (n = 15), while poor knowledge decreased from 50% (n = 10) to 10% (n = 2). Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement in knowledge following the intervention (Z = −3.832; p < 0.001). The program also produced sustainable educational resources, including presentations, leaflets, and the ATIKA Digital Booklet. These findings indicate that the ATIKA method effectively enhances patient and family knowledge and supports the development of a structured, sustainable, patient- and family-centered perianesthesia education system.
