Abstract

Corrosion of API 5L Grade B steel is a common challenge in industries where the material is exposed to corrosive environments, such as saline solutions. To combat this issue, corrosion inhibitors are often used to protect the steel. This study explores the effectiveness of two inhibitors—Triethanolamine (TEA) and Cocamide DEA (CDEA)—in reducing corrosion on API 5L Grade B steel. By calculating the corrosion rate and inhibitor efficiency, we evaluated the protective properties of each substance. The results showed that TEA provided better corrosion protection, with a corrosion rate of 0.00045 mpy, compared to CDEA’s rate of 0.0009 mpy. Additionally, TEA demonstrated a higher inhibitor efficiency of 70.97%, while CDEA showed only 41.94%. These findings suggest that TEA is a more effective choice for preventing corrosion in API 5L Grade B steel, offering a viable solution to enhance the material’s durability in harsh environments.

Abstract

Air conditioning system has a very important role in a building, this is to support activities in the building. Conventional cooling systems are based on vapor compression systems using refrigerant as the working fluid in the cycle. Commonly used refrigerant fluids have very high global warming and ozone destruction potential. Prolonged use of refrigerants will have negative impacts on the environment such as greenhouse gases and global warming. Through a photovoltaic (PV) system, solar light energy can be converted into electrical energy. Meanwhile, thermoelectric systems can convert temperature differences into electrical voltage differences or vice versa. Hybridization of the two systems can be used as an air conditioning system in buildings or other equipment. In this research, a prototype of a thermoelectric cooling system was produced with an energy source from solar panels, by determining the cooling temperature of a cube-shaped room with a side length of 30 cm at 26oC, the time required to reach this temperature was 18 minutes, data taken starting at 08.00, able to produce an average daily power from solar panels of 54.25 watts at each data collection. Meanwhile, the Coefficient of Performance of the cooling system in this study was 0.305. This system still cannot be compared with conventional cooling systems, but the cooling system in this research has the advantage of being a cooling system that is capable of producing cooling without using an electrical energy source from PLN.

Abstract

As a result of the use and access of social media, it also has an impact on increasing the amount of data and information, especially text data. Text has become one of the most natural forms of data that is stored, so that the field of text mining is believed to be an advanced field of data mining. Facts that emerge from research studies that have been conducted show that 80% of company information is presented in text documents. Text mining is a multidisciplinary field, involving information retrieval, text analysis, information extraction, and clustering. The text mining classification method is one technique that can be used to carry out classification. Text classification specifically works to group text documents based on categories, and within the scope of news datasets, categories are generally divided into politics, economics, military, sports and others. Statistical methods are one of the most frequently applied methods in text emotion classification. As a method in statistics, Naive Bayes is a classification algorithm that is easy to understand in text classification. Apart from that, Naïve Bayes has good classification effects and performance for processing large-scale data. The conclusion of this research is, Naïve Bayes gets an accuracy value of 77.78%. Random Forest gets an accuracy of 70.1%. KNN gets an accuracy of 24.88% and SVM gets an accuracy value of 80.60%. Meanwhile, the respective running times are Naïve Bayes 0.046 seconds, Random Forest 150 seconds, KNN 15 seconds, and SVM 0.43 seconds.

Abstract

Schools must carry out effective promotions and target the right markets to attract prospective students efficiently. This study applies data mining using Association Rule and Apriori algorithms to uncover patterns for identifying promising promotional areas. It consists of four stages: data collection, preprocessing, implementation and testing, and evaluation, aiming to determine strategic locations for school promotion. The Apriori algorithm analyzed student data and produced 16 association rules, all with 100% confidence. Findings show that Kaliwates District appeared eight times, Sumbersari four times, and Tempurejo and Patrang twice each, indicating most students come from Kaliwates. The ‘Public Elementary School’ itemset appeared 12 times, revealing that most students enrolled from public rather than private schools. The study concludes that educational data plays a crucial role in shaping promotion strategies, especially through association analysis. Rules with the ‘District’ itemset in the antecedent are particularly useful as a promotional reference. These insights help decision-makers identify high-potential regions and school origins, supporting more targeted and effective promotional efforts.

Abstract

Corrosion in flowline pipes represents one of the critical challenges frequently encountered in the oil and gas industry, particularly within fluid transportation systems in the upstream sector. This issue significantly compromises material performance, incurs substantial economic losses, and poses serious occupational safety risks. Carbon steel, commonly used in flowline pipes, is highly susceptible to corrosion due to exposure to aggressive environments, including high humidity, formation water, and corrosive gases such as H₂S and CO₂. In line with the growing demands for infrastructure reliability and compliance with safety standards, effective corrosion mitigation has become increasingly urgent. The degradation of pipe integrity due to corrosion can jeopardize the long-term reliability of fluid transport systems, potentially leading to severe operational disruptions and escalating maintenance costs. This study aims to investigate the primary causes of corrosion and evaluate the effectiveness of applied mitigation strategies on flowline pipes at a production facility. The methods examined include the application of protective surface coatings and the use of wrapping systems to inhibit direct contact between the metal and corrosive agents. Additionally, pipe wall thickness measurements were conducted to estimate the remaining service life of the flowline system based on the extent of corrosion-induced degradation. The findings of this study are expected to offer technically sound and practically applicable recommendations for corrosion control, thereby enhancing operational reliability and contributing to the sustainable performance of oil and gas infrastructure.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of a mobile-based class book designed to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of academic information dissemination within the Information Technology study program. The main issues addressed include the limited availability of printed class materials, inefficiencies in updating academic information, and the absence of integrated digital solutions that support students and faculty in accessing up-to-date academic guidance. The primary objective of this research is to design and implement a mobile application that functions as a digital class book, enabling users to access academic information anytime and anywhere. This study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to thoroughly develop and evaluate the application. The Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and usability testing involving both students and faculty members. The results indicate that the mobile class book significantly enhances user access to academic content and improves the efficiency of information dissemination. Usability testing revealed high levels of satisfaction regarding interface design, functionality, and ease of use. Furthermore, the digital platform enables faster updates and better alignment with curriculum changes. Overall, this study demonstrates that a mobile-based solution can effectively address the limitations of traditional class material distribution methods and positively contribute to the delivery of academic services in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of economizer water temperature and steam flow on boiler operational efficiency in Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) type Steam Power Plant (PLTU). The study was conducted through a literature review of a number of recent studies that examined the relationship between these two parameters and the thermal efficiency of the boiler system. The analysis shows that increasing the economizer water temperature from 65°C to 67°C can increase the efficiency up to 4%, while installing economizer in general can increase the efficiency up to 10%. On the other hand, excessive steam flow variation can cause temperature fluctuations and decrease efficiency, while optimal steam flow regulation is proven to increase heat recovery from flue gas and decrease operating costs. The optimal interaction between economizer water temperature and steam flow is proven to save fuel, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and extend the service life of boiler components. This study concludes that the implementation of automatic control and real-time monitoring of both parameters is essential to improve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and support the sustainability of power generation systems.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to undergo digital transformation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in academic data management. This study discusses the design and implementation process of a web-based Academic Information System at the Information Technology Study Program, Universitas PGRI Silampari. The main objective of the system development is to replace manual processes that are often inefficient and error-prone, as well as to integrate currently fragmented systems. The research methodology includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, and comprehensive testing using a structured software development approach. The implementation results show that the system significantly improves the efficiency of academic administration, accelerates student data processing, and provides accurate, real-time access to academic information. Furthermore, the system supports scalability, allowing it to accommodate the growing number of students each year. It also simplifies academic reporting processes, making it easier for administrators to manage academic data. In conclusion, the web-based academic information system offers an effective solution to support the improvement of academic service quality in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a chicken manure drying machine powered by a 50 Wp solar panel. The system stores energy in a 12V battery and converts it through a 1500W inverter to operate four 50W heating lamps. The main objective is to reduce the high moisture content in raw chicken manure, making it suitable for use as organic fertilizer. The design process included field surveys, literature review, and component calculations. Experimental testing showed that the machine successfully reduced the initial moisture content from 31% to 13% within 6 hours at a controlled temperature of 43°C. These results indicate that the solar-powered drying system is effective and energy-efficient for small-scale organic fertilizer production.

Abstract

This study will determine the stock movement pattern of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) using Association Rule Mining according to the Apriori algorithm. The main focus is to investigate the correlation of the lowest price, the highest price, and the trading volume of BBCA shares in one time period. Past stock data is first processed and discretized into categorical data: lowest and highest, on each attribute. The data mining process is carried out using WEKA software to generate association rules with very high confidence values and lift values. Mining produces the top 10 association rules, some of which have 100% confidence values and lift values greater than 1, indicating a very strong relationship between the attributes. For example, it is found that when the lowest price is in the "high" category, the highest price is also high with absolute confidence. These observations indicate that BBCA stock behavior can be inferred through correlations between simple technical variables. This can help investors and market analysts to identify hidden patterns and make informed decisions based on evidence. This approach in the future can be complemented with other technical indicators such as Moving Average and RSI for more accurate predictions. This method offers practical value for investors by revealing hidden patterns and supporting data-driven decision-making, especially when combined with other technical tools like Moving Average and RSI.
