Abstract

The Islamic capital market in Indonesia faces challenges due to speculative practices containing elements of Gharar (uncertainty), which contradict the principles of Islamic law. This reduces market stability and undermines public confidence in the Islamic financial system. This study aims to analyze the influence of Gharar in Sharia-compliant stock transactions, assess its ethical impact, and propose regulatory measures to curb detrimental speculative practices. This research adopts a qualitative normative-juridical approach with supporting case analysis to examine Gharar practices in the Islamic capital market., analyzing related regulations, such as DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 80/2011 and POJK No. 15/POJK.04/2015, as well as empirical data on market volatility. The study shows that excessive Gharar contributes to price distortion and market volatility. Mitigating speculative practices requires strengthening corporate governance, information transparency, and law enforcement consistent with Sharia principles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transparency and accountability of financial reporting in Islamic financial institutions (IFIs) in Indonesia from the perspectives of Islam and stakeholders. Transparency and accountability are fundamental principles in Islamic financial management that serve to uphold trust (amanah), enhance public confidence, and ensure compliance with Sharia principles. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design involving several Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the management of Islamic financial institutions, analysis of financial statement documents, and a review of relevant literature. The findings indicate that the practices of transparency and accountability in the financial reporting of Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia have shown considerable improvement, particularly in terms of compliance with Sharia accounting standards and the disclosure of basic financial information. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including limitations in human resource capacity, variations in the understanding of Sharia accounting standards, and the suboptimal disclosure of non-financial information such as social impact and Sharia compliance. This study provides important implications for strengthening Islamic financial management practices and for formulating policies aimed at improving the quality of Sharia financial reporting in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sebagai lembaga keuangan, asuransi memainkan peran penting dalam menawarkan perlindungan moneter dan mengurangi risiko bagi pemegang polis (klien). Berbagai jenis ancaman dan ketidakpastian hadir dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, yang relevan bagi perusahaan maupun individu. Studi ini dilakukan untuk secara empiris menguji pengaruh yang timbul dari hubungan antara Pendapatan Premi dan Pengembalian Investasi terhadap Laba, yang berfungsi sebagai indikator utama kesehatan keuangan secara keseluruhan. Investigasi ini menggunakan sampel 14 emiten asuransi yang terdaftar secara legal di Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) sebagai subjek observasi. Metodologi yang diadopsi adalah kuantitatif, mengandalkan data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan yang tersedia dan dapat diakses melalui IDX. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pengaruh yang menguntungkan dan signifikan secara statistik dari Pendapatan Premi dan Pengembalian Investasi sebagai variabel independen terhadap Laba sebagai variabel dependen di sektor asuransi pada IDX. Temuan dalam penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai salah satu faktor pertimbangan dalam penilaian fundamental entitas asuransi.

Abstract

The current study explores how fintech influences financing access for MSMEs and considers financial literacy as a moderating variable. The problem statement in the current research includes the limited financing access that represents a significant challenge for MSMEs and is especially common in regional settings. The methodology applied in this study is quantitative, with an explanatory research design adopted. The primary data collection technique used was the questionnaire distributed among 120 respondents who represented MSMEs located in Jambi City. To measure the constructs, a Likert scale was employed, while PLS-SEM analysis was conducted. The results showed that fintech significantly and positively impacts MSME financing access. In addition, financial literacy is proved to be significantly and positively associated with financing access. Additionally, financial literacy is established as a moderator that amplifies the effect of fintech on financing access. The coefficient of determination shows that the proposed model explains a considerable amount of the explained variance in financing access. Hence, it can be concluded that successful MSME financing access depends on both the use of fintech and the financial literacy of entrepreneurs. From the standpoint of policy implications, promoting financial literacy programs and developing a fintech ecosystem would contribute to the development of MSMEs.

Abstract

The increasingly dynamic and competitive work environment requires organizations not only to focus on performance targets but also to pay attention to employee well-being as a key factor in enhancing work productivity. Employee well-being, which encompasses psychological, social, and physical aspects, plays a strategic role in supporting individual and organizational performance. From an Islamic business perspective, employee well-being is not merely an organizational strategy but also a moral responsibility, reflecting principles such as justice (al-‘adl), balance (tawazun), and trust (amanah) in managing human resources.This study aims to analyze the role of employee well-being in improving employee productivity. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving active employees within an organization. The data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation techniques applied to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that employee well-being significantly contributes to work productivity. Psychological well-being enhances work motivation, work-life balance improves work effectiveness, a supportive work environment fosters collaboration, and physical health directly influences performance. Notably, psychological well-being and work-life balance emerged as the most dominant factors affecting productivity. These findings are consistent with the Job Demands-Resources theory, which emphasizes the balance between job demands and individual resources. In the context of Islamic business values, these results highlight the importance of fostering a humane and balanced work environment that promotes both material and spiritual well-being. The study offers novelty by emphasizing that, in the modern work context, mental well-being and work-life balance have a stronger influence on productivity than other factors. Therefore, organizations are encouraged to implement well-being-oriented policies grounded in ethical and Islamic values to achieve sustainable performance and holistic success (falah).
