Abstract

Learning, especially studying Koran, is obligatory for every Muslims. the condition of Muslim children at early age in urban areas especially in Bandung age 6 to 13 years allegedly almost 80% have not been able to read the Koran, therefore Al-Hadi Middle School (SMP) feels obliged to overcome these problems by requiring all students to learn read and write the Koran through Local Subject that is read and write the Koran. To achieve the effectiveness of learning, Al-Hidayah Method is used which is adjusted to the conditions and objectives of learning Read and Write Koran in school. The research used is Analytic Descriptive Method based on observation result, in-depth interview and test conducted. The result of this research shows Al-Hidayah method in Al-Hadi middle school implemented by using classical pattern, individual and cooperative learning. The obstacle is the lack of learning modules and not yet mastered the concept of learning the method of al-hidayah. While the superiority seen in the shortness of existing materials and exercises that enable students to achieve basic competence in reading and write Koran is shown from the number of students who can achieve the basic competencies that have been set.

Abstract

This study originated from the lack of student mastery of the math concepts and math materials often mistakenly understood by students. The purpose of this study was to determine how far an increase understanding of Mathematics Concepts fifth grade students of SD Negeri 05 South Curup after applied learning model Concept Attainment. This type of research is a classroom action research that consisted of 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The technique of collecting data through observation and evaluation tests. Data analysis techniques through test data pengelolahan classical completeness learning outcomes, pengelolahan learning outcomes data, and test data processing observation. The results of observations of the activities of teachers and students has increased from cycle to cycle, namely from the category enough in the first cycle, the category enough in the second cycle, and both categories at the third cycle. The results of the study test understanding of the concept in the first cycle, the second cycle and the third cycle in a row shows the classical learning completeness students 61.11%, 70.08% and 83.04%. Improved results of tests and observation sheet understanding of the concept of the first cycle to the third cycle, it can be concluded that the application of the Conce pt Attainment can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts fifth grade students in mathematics.

Abstract

This study attempts to identify how the concept of the integration between religion and nature environment of learning process in PAUD Sekolah Alam Ungaran (SAUNG) Semarang is, and its impact for realizing student behavior in protecting nature eternity. Applying field research as a qualitative study, researcher used observation, interviews, and documentation as the method of collecting data. Data analysis of the study is descriptive by using data from manager, teacher, student and parents. Meanwhile, this study also used phenomenology as the approach for finding the essence of school culture. This paper Founds that PAUD SAUNG Semarang integrated its learning process through sunnah kauniyah in nature and social life combined with Islamic precepts or the integration between dalil kauniyah and dalil naqliyah. On the other side, PAUD SAUNG Semarang used integrative method using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) as the learning model. It also supported by unique classroom design, the curriculum (combination of Islam precepts and nature environment) and outdoor activity in learning process. So, it can improve student’s awareness to love their nature

Abstract

The recent study identifies student learning problem on the course of linear program for students at mathematics department. The population is taken from students of mathematics department in Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. The findings show that there are four types of problem faced by students when learning Linear Program, such as: a) the lack number of references relating to the course, b) difficulties in modeling problem to mathematics model, c) teaching strategies causes student difficulties in in modeling problem to mathematics model, and d) students have no idea yet relating to the application of the course.

Abstract

The current research aims to explore the examples of mathematical ideas which exist in motives produced by weavers in Sukarara. Although, it is still in the form of the dialogue and preliminary observations, revealed the principles of geometry such as translation, reflection, rotation and enlargement. These principles are often used in the patterns in making songket motifs in Sukarara village, Central Lombok. Weaving by most of the mothers of the households in this Sukarara indirectly applying the principles of geometry, even if they are not yet familiar with geometric concepts taught in school, but they can apply them in the form of beautiful and high-value motifs. It is important for us to learn and teach the students to be used as sources in contextual learning.

Abstract

Communication strategies should be included in a speaking class in order to enable learners have strategies to cope with the communication problems both as message delivers (speakers) and as message receivers (listeners) in taking turns speaking. When the learners face problems in taking turns speaking, they may employ achievement/compensatory strategies as an attempt to deal with problems in communication directly by using alternative in order to get the message across. The use these strategies are regarded as good learners’ behaviors because they are able to maintain communication, such as use of word coinage, language switch, paraphrase, circumlocution, cooperative strategies, non-linguistic strategies, and so forth. Otherwise, the learners may rely on the avoidance/reduction strategies if they are not able to convey or understand the message to or from the interlocutors. These behaviors affect interaction negatively and are common among low proficiency learners. The avoidance message as such topic avoidance, message abandonment, replace the message, reduce the content of the intended message, and so forth. Learners as message delivers (speakers) and message receivers (listeners) may use verbal communication strategies to cope with communication problems, such as topic avoidance, message abandonment, approximation, word coinage, circumlocution, literal translation (interlingual transfer), language switch, appeal for assistance, foreignizing (interlingual transfer), paraphrase, self-correction, self-repetition, asking for repetition, asking for clarification, and so forth. Meanwhile, nonverbal CSs which may be employed by learners as message senders (speakers) and message receivers (listeners) are smiling, head nodding, head shaking, hand raising, hand moving, thumb up, drawing something, and so forth.

Abstract

The recent study intends to describe the usefulness of mathematics laboratory as learning resource for students at Mathematics Department IAIN Mataram. It is a qualitative descriptive research. The finding shows that the laboratory has been used relatively well as learning resource for students even though there are some obstacles faced by students. It is also found some alternate solutions to address the obstacles in order to maximize the usefulness of laboratory as learning resource.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problem relating to school children and adult (around 7 to 21 years old) engagement in alcoholic drink. The research is a descriptive analysis which has been conducted around five months in Batu Layar District, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It is found that the factors caused their engagement in alcoholic drink are: their low level of education, economic weaknesses, lack of parent control, and environment that support them to close to alcoholic drink.

Abstract

The current research intends to find out the different effect of the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with CTL approach, the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model without CTL approach, and the direct learning model towards students mathematics learning achievement and affective aspect regarding student spatial ability which is categorized into high, medium and low. The research was quasi experimental. The results of the research were as follows. (1) The cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type with CTL approach and the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type gaves a better achievement than direct learning model, and the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type with CTL approach gaves the same achievement as the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type. (2) The cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type with CTL approach results a better affective effect than the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type and direct learning model, and the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type gaves a better achievement than direct learning model. (3) Students with the high spatial ability had better achievement than students with the medium and low spatial ability, and students with the medium spatial ability had better achievement than students with the low spatial ability. (4) Students with the high spatial ability had better affective aspect than students with the medium and low spatial ability, and students with the medium spatial ability had the same affective aspect as students with the the low spatial ability. More findings are elaborated further on the discussion and conclusion part of the current report.

Abstract

The current research intends to clarify the lab activities program of Basic Chemistry course (including its planning and implementation) at Science Education Department of IAIN Mataram and the factors affecting the quality of the program in order to maximize students’ learning achievement. It is a qualitative research where that data are obtained from students, lecturers, and laboratory assistances. The research found the following remarks: 1) the planning process shows that students have weaknesses on their understanding of the topic being practiced, their capability on using the tools and stuff used in the practices, and on the quantity of consultation to laboratory assistances; 2) During the implementation process, there some blind spots such as inadequate equipment to do lab activities, students’ difficulties in compiling report, unsynchronized schedule of lab activities, and inadequate explanation and consultation to supporting lecturers and laboratory assistances. To anticipate the problems above, an intensive evaluation is held together with students, laboratory assistances, and supporting lecturers to optimize their roles. The factors contributing to the quality of the lab activity are student motivation, the lecturers and laboratory assistances contributions, and the lab equipment.
