Abstract

: Inventory management in academic institutions frequently faces challenges including delays, inaccurate records, and a lack of transparency. To address these issues, this study developed SIMS: A QR Code–Enabled System for Locating, Monitoring, and Managing Office Supplies at USTP Panaon Campus. The system aims to improve supply monitoring, enhance visibility of custodianship, and provide a structured process for faculty requests. Using the Agile Software Development Life Cycle, the system was designed and evaluated through a mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were gathered using ISO/IEC 9126-based evaluation forms, while qualitative feedback was collected through interviews. Six respondents, including administrators and faculty, assessed the system’s functionality, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, security, and reliability. Results showed excellent ratings across all criteria, with weighted means of 5.0 for administrators and 4.90 for faculty, indicating strong performance in monitoring, usability, and security. These findings confirm that SIMS significantly improves operational efficiency, reduces human error, and promotes transparency in supply management. The study concludes that integrating QR code technology with web-based inventory systems provides a sustainable and scalable solution for institutional resource management. It is recommended to enhance the system with a mobile application for QR scanning during field operations and cloud-based backup for improved resilience.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has driven the transformation of library services from conventional systems to web-based digital libraries. However, many digital library applications still experience issues related to user interface and user experience, particularly in ineffective and unintuitive book search features. This study aims to design the UI/UX of a web-based digital library application using the Design Thinking method with a focus on book searching. The Design Thinking method consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The empathize stage identifies user needs and problems in searching for books. The define stage formulates the main problems, while the ideate stage generates user-centered design solutions. The prototype stage produces interface designs, and the test stage evaluates usability and user comfort. The results show that the proposed UI/UX design improves the effectiveness of book searching and enhances user experience. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing user-centered web-based digital library applications.

Abstract

Manual water level monitoring is ineffective and unable to provide real-time data. This study develops an Internet of Things-based water level monitoring system using ESP32 and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to monitor water height in a 1200-liter capacity tank. The system employs Research and Development method encompassing requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Implementation results demonstrate the system successfully reads water level changes in real-time through OLED and local web dashboard based on SPIFFS. Testing across various water height conditions shows an average measurement error of 1 cm with response time of 1-2 seconds. The system classifies water conditions into Empty, Filled, and Full with appropriate buzzer response. Local web server implementation enables the system to operate independently without external server, making it effective for small-scale water tank applications.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly improved efficiency in financial technology (fintech) services in Indonesia and globally. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of university students in Indonesia regarding the use of financial technology in an era of rapid AI development. In addition, the study examines students’ perspectives on fintech usage in relation to the security of users’ assets. The research employs a questionnaire-based method conducted across Indonesian universities, involving 217 university student respondents. The results indicate that psychological factors influence the intention to use virtual agents differently across basic and advanced digital financial services. Perceived security has a stronger effect on the adoption of virtual agents for routine transactions, whereas perceived convenience plays a key role in encouraging their use for more complex financial services. These findings highlight the importance of tailoring the design of AI-based virtual agents to the level of complexity of the financial services offered.

Abstract

Pacu Jalur cultural tourism attracts wide public interest, particularly for its historical value and rich traditional heritage in Riau, Indonesia. In recent years, its appeal has increased through the circulation of visual content on social media platforms, especially TikTok. However, scholarly studies examining the influence of digital content on visit intention to cultural tourism destinations remain limited. This study addresses that gap by analyzing the relationship between perceived entertainment, destination image, and visit intention toward the Pacu Jalur festival. Utilizing a quantitative approach and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS), data were collected from 167 respondents who had seen the TikTok trend related to Pacu Jalur. The results indicate that perceived entertainment significantly affects both destination image and visit intention. Furthermore, destination image plays a mediating role in the relationship between entertainment and visit intention. These findings demonstrate that user-generated, visually engaging, and culturally authentic content on social media can enhance destination perceptions and increase visit motivation, particularly among younger audiences. The study offers theoretical contributions in digital tourism and practical implications for cultural promotion strategies through social media in preserving intangible heritage.
