Abstract

Background. One of the factors determining CHD patients' adherence to treatment is Illness Cognition (IC). IC is described as acceptance, perceived-benefits, and helplessness. This study aims to identify and compared IC in CHD patients treated in different wards. Method: This research used a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was CHD patients who were undergoing treatment at a referral hospital in West Java. Selection of respondents using consecutive sampling, and data collected within three months, using the Illness Cognition Questionnaire on 106 respondents. Data were analyzed using mean and frequency distribution. Furthermore, ICs were compared using the Kruskal Wallis Test. Results: The following are an average IC respondent based on different IC dimensions and ward. Dimensions of helplessness: High Care Cardiac Unit (HCCU) 16.1 (SD = 4.06); Regular ward 12.86 (SD = 4.95); Outpatient 14.05 (SD = 5); Cardiac-Rehabilitation (CR) 11.04 (SD = 3.52) with p = 0.013. Dimensions of acceptance: HCCU 14.00 (SD = 2.7); Regular-ward 18.26 (SD = 2.7); outpatient 19.34 (SD = 2.88); RJ 18.20 (SD = 3.47) p = 0.005. Dimensions of perceived-benefits of HCCU 18.00 (SD = 3.6); Regular-ward 19.96 (SD = 2.76); outpatient 20.95 (SD = 3.01); RJ 20.08 (SD = 3.46) p = 0.043. Conclusion: The worst ICs of all dimensions were owned by respondents who were undergoing treatment at HCCU. ICs with relatively better are seen in respondents who were undergoing treatment in outpatient and cardiac-rehabilitation. ICs in CHD patients differ in all dimensions and categories of the ward. Thus, patient acceptance at HCCU need to be increased and as well as participation in cardiac rehabilitation so that patient perceived-benefits increase.

Abstract

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a cardiovascular disease. Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) is a revascularization therapy in CHD which causes side effects in the form of pain which can worsen the patient's health if left untreated. The use of pharmacological therapy requires additional therapy such as non-pharmacological therapy to support the success of the pharmacological therapy that has been given. Slow Deep Breathing has the potential to be an intervention that nurses can perform to efficiently manage pain. The purpose of writing this article is to report on the implementation of Slow Deep Breathing (SDB) interventions in patients with CHD after the Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting procedure with acute pain nursing problems. There was a 66-year-old patient with a history of CAD who had performed the second day of the CABG procedure and experienced chest pain after CABG surgery accompanied by tightness. Slow Deep Breathing given for 15 minutes every time the patient feels pain can potentially be an additional pain management intervention for patients with post-CABG chest pain.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has been considered a global challenge for all countries around the world. The strategy that can be done to control Covid-19 is to develop an effective vaccine. The targets for the first wave of vaccines are health workers, public officials, and the elderly. For the second wave, the targets are vulnerable groups and the general public. The lack of acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccination in the community causes the vaccination program to be less than optimal. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence people's doubts about the Covid-19 vaccine. The literature review method used is a scoping review. Researchers searched for the scientific articles in the Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Ebscohost databases. The keywords that researchers used consisting of 2 languages, in English keyword Covid-19 vaccine AND doubt OR hesitation AND factor OR reason OR cause. The year published was the last 5 years, and articles were selected using critical appraisal tools from The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). After screening according to inclusion criteria, 8 articles were found. The conclusion from the results of the journal analysis is that there are factors that influence people to refuse vaccines, including people with low education so they believe more in negative issues about vaccines, are not sure about the side effects of vaccines, are afraid of being injected, lack of information about vaccines, believe that no need vaccines to avoid Covid-19, and people who don't believe in Covid-19.

Abstract

Methods: Strategi review artikel menggunakan PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analyses) dan dianalisa menggunakan konten analisis. Studi yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2009-2019, artikel penelitian dengan bahasa inggris, dipertimbangkan sebagai kriteria inklusi dalam tinjauan ini. Results: Didapatkan 25 artikel; 15 kuantitatif, 7 kualitatif, 2 case report dan 1 mixed methods.

Abstract

Introduction: A diaphragmatic rupture, which can also be called a diaphragmatic tear, is a tear that occurs in the diaphragm. The muscles at the base of the thoracic cavity play an important role when breathing. The purpose of this study is to present a nursing care plan with a focus on handling ventilation disorders in patients with diaphragmatic rupture so that it can become nursing implications in the prevention and complications of diaphragmatic rupture. Method: Researchers used the case study method which was obtained in November 2022 in the General Intensive Care Unit Room at the Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, Bandung City. Discussion: The best treatment for this diaphragmatic rupture is surgery, one of which is laparotomy, a diaphragmatic rupture will result in impaired ventilation and must be treated using a ventilator in full control. When using a ventilator, the patient's condition must always be monitored hemodynamically, especially respiration rate and oxygen saturation. The collaboration of midazolam and rocuronium drugs is useful as a sedative to make the patient drowsy and decrease anxiety. Conclusion: respiratory monitoring and drug collaboration are very useful in patients who experience impaired ventilation with a medical diagnosis of post-laparotomy exploration rupture diaphragmIntroduction: A diaphragmatic rupture, which can also be called a diaphragmatic tear, is a tear that occurs in the diaphragm.
