Abstract

This research aims to explore human resource management strategies in maintaining teacher commitment and mitigating burnout risks within philanthropic educational institutions. The study focuses on a free elementary school experiencing a significant surge in student enrollment despite offering non-competitive financial compensation. Using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the Chairman of the Foundation, the Principal, and teachers with more than ten years of service. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The results indicate that organizational commitment is built through the internalization of transcendental values and paternalistic leadership. The Chairman serves as a nurturing figure providing emotional support and psychological safety as a substitute for financial incentives. Although the workload increased due to high student participation, burnout risks were effectively mitigated through a familial work climate and a profound sense of meaning in work. These findings imply that value-oriented and empathetic leadership is a crucial instrument for the sustainability of community-based schools amidst fiscal constraints.

Abstract

n the era of disruption and the 4.0 industrial revolution, educators should think about the balance of hard skills and soft skills to avoid boring and demagogic learning processes, which might decrease human dignity. This research is aimed at in-depth evaluation of the efficiency of the "JERMAN GC" Learning Community (Kombel) at SMP Islam PB. Soedirman Bekasi as a platform for the transformation of the potential professionalism of teachers. The evaluation was conducted utilising the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product) with a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was done by observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies. Data analysis was done by using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The research findings indicate that in terms of context, this program is very relevant to the teachers’ desires for a reflective collaborative space. On the input side, the existence of internal resource persons and comprehensive training materials provide a good basis. In terms of procedure, there is a steady managerial cycle of planning, implementation and successful peer coaching. In terms of product, the program was successful in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence, improving the quality of 4C-based learning (critical, creative, collaborative, communicative), and was considered to be very cost-effective. The outcome of this research is that Kombel “JERMAN GC” has successfully become the driving force for the reform of the learning culture in schools. This research has consequences, to the fact that community-based teacher professionalism development with minimum costs can have maximum impact on the quality of education, thus this approach is highly replicable by other educational institutions in developing an adaptive and innovative school ecosystem.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze co-parenting patterns in post-divorce child education and to examine the integration of Islamic values in parenting practices, particularly in response to the increasing divorce rate in Indonesia and its impact on children’s emotional, social, and academic development. Method: This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Data were collected from Google Scholar and Scopus databases, focusing on publications from 2010 to 2025. A total of 124 articles were initially identified, with 36 articles meeting the inclusion criteria and analyzed using content analysis techniques. Findings: The findings indicate that co-parenting patterns in post-divorce families can be classified into three main types: cooperative, parallel, and high-conflict. Cooperative co-parenting is associated with positive outcomes in children’s well-being and academic achievement, while high-conflict co-parenting increases the risk of behavioral problems. Furthermore, the effectiveness of co-parenting is influenced by communication quality, clarity of role distribution, and conflict management skills. In the context of Muslim families, Islamic values such as shura (consultation), amanah (responsibility), ‘adl (justice), and ta’awun (cooperation) play a significant role in strengthening constructive co-parenting practices. Research Implication: This study emphasizes the importance of integrating Islamic values into co-parenting practices as a strategic approach to support children’s holistic development in post-divorce families. It also provides a conceptual basis for educators and parents to develop more adaptive and value-based parenting strategies. Originality: This research offers a conceptual framework of Islamic values-based co-parenting that bridges contemporary parenting models with Islamic principles, providing a contextual and practical contribution to post-divorce child education.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the ethno-flipped classroom model, which integrates Nias cultural artifacts, in enhancing students’ self-regulated learning (SRL) in statistics. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with a longitudinal design. Data were collected from 152 students at the Senior High School residing on Nias Island, Indonesia via SRL questionnaires administered at the pre- and post-intervention stages. Data analysis utilized stacking analysis within the Rasch Model framework to measure growth in ability on a consistent logit scale, supplemented by in-depth interviews to clarify inconsistent response patterns. Findings: The results showed a significant increase in students’ self-regulated learning, with the percentage of students at the “High” level surging dramatically from 17.76% at the pre intervention stage to 76.35% at the post-intervention stage. All students demonstrated positive logit score growth, reflecting a paradigm shift in learning from individualistic to collaborative approaches. However, it was found that students with low initial mathematics ability still require additional support during the self-monitoring phase. Research Implications: These findings provide practical contributions for educators in designing instructional approaches that integrate modern technology with local wisdom to strengthen student autonomy and engagement. However, this study is limited by students' adaptation difficulties, self-monitoring gaps among low and moderate ability students, and the Nias cultural context restricting generalizability. Originality: The novelty of this research lies in the unique integration of Nias-specific ethno-mathematics artifacts into a flipped classroom model, validated using the psychometric Rasch Model approach to ensure the objectivity of student ability growth measurements.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to develop and evaluate a problem-solving-based e-module on Sequences and Series to address the low critical thinking skills of senior high school students caused by the lack of interactive learning materials. Methods: Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design with the ADDIE model, the study involved 25 students from SMAN 13 Takalar. Data collected through validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test instruments were analyzed using Aiken’s V formula and Normalized Gain (N-Gain).Findings: The results demonstrated that the developed e-module is highly valid (average 1.00) and categorized as very practical by both practitioners and classroom observations. Furthermore, the e-module proved effective, as evidenced by an average N-Gain of 0.76, placing students' critical thinking improvement in the "high" category. Limitations: However, this study is limited by a small sample size at a single institution, a reliance on purely written cognitive assessments that overlook digital literacy and intrinsic motivation, and the use of a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group. Research Implications: These findings suggest that integrating structured problem-solving steps into digital modules provides a significant pedagogical tool for teachers to foster higher-order thinking skills. Originality: This research contributes by specifically integrating Polya’s framework with Facione’s cognitive indicators within a culturally contextualized digital e-module.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze students' difficulties in writing short stories and formulate strategic solutions to bridge the gap between language skill demands and students' low literacy levels. Methods: This descriptive research with a qualitative approach involved 35 eleventh-grade students at SMAN 16 Bandung. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires, followed by systematic analysis including data organization, specific data grouping, narrative description of student constraints, and drawing conclusions. Findings: The findings reveal that the primary root of students' difficulties in writing fiction lies in their low reading motivation. Specifically, empirical data shows that nearly 90% of the respondents experienced a deadlock in determining ideas and developing concepts. This lack of reading motivation directly results in limited vocabulary mastery, static plot development, and instances of plagiarism due to low independent imagination. Research Implications: These results provide crucial implications for pedagogical practices, urging educators to integrate innovative approaches. Solutions include utilizing social media inspirational stories as idea triggers, developing digital teaching materials, and implementing interactive learning methods combined with reward systems to establish a conducive learning environment. Originality: The originality of this study lies in conceptualizing the transition of social media typically viewed as a cause of low literacy into a strategic production modality for literary works. Rooted in the empirical finding of an 88% conceptual deadlock rate among students, this research offers a novel, evidence-based framework that redirects casual digital consumption toward bridging academic writing demands.
