Abstract

Many academicians are regretful about the removal of seven words in the Jakarta Charter and consider this as a political defeat for Muslims. If the words had not been removed, Islamic law would be simple in its implementation in Indonesia. There was a new hope when the Presidential Decree of 5 July 1959 stated to return to the 1945 Constitution. The Presidential Decree emphasized that the Jakarta Charter was a series of units in the Constitution. In other words, Islamic laws in the state administration system in Indonesia could be the authoritative source. This means that Islamic law has a chance to contribute to the Indonesian legal system. This qualitative research used normative approach in which the information was gained from a number of reliable sources such as books and journals to explore and figure out any perspectives about the status of Islamic law as the authoritative source in state administration of Indonesia. This research showed that Islamic law as the authoritative source is possible to contribute to legal order applied in Indonesia. As a political product, law relies on the political situation; nevertheless, the Muslims are not able to maximize their political roles given the hindrances from both external and internal factors. Hence, there is a need to build awareness of Muslims particularly those becoming the law makers to be capable of introducing the Islamic laws to public through the objectification of Islamic laws. Substantially, the Islamic law is more superior in giving justice, benefits and legal certainty.

Abstract

Because the world is mortal, Islam is a complete religion that is the solution to all problems. Islam regulates the way of human life based on needs and does not splurge, making enjoyment the goal of life. The Prophet warns his people not to be extravagant, greedy, or oblivious to the world. However, the emergence of a lifestyle trend makes enjoyment. Enjoyment of life and endless satisfaction is a disease. Hedonistic behavior causes perpetrators to be excessively consumptive without realizing that if their income sources are limited, the impact of hedonistic actors will be wasteful, irresponsible, and in debt to the worst corruption. This paper addressed the Prophet's hadith as a solution to hedonism. Sahih (valid) hadiths are found by using the takhrj hadith method (validation) and examining its content using the taḥlīli (analytic) method by revealing the ontology, epistemology, and axiology sides. From the way of seeking sustenance and always seeking the lawful in order to benefit human life and avoid hedonistic behavior.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the idea that commodification is a process of changing the value of a product which previously only had a use value and then becomes an exchange value where the demand for the product is determined by the price, designed by the manufacturer. The formulation of the research problem is how to commodify the religion of siwak products through halal labels and how to analyze media and advertisements related to the religious commodification of siwak products. The research method is library research. The results showed that currently siwak has turned into toothpaste. Toothpaste has become one of the people's daily needs. The habit of brushing teeth has existed since ancient times and people prefer to use siwak wood. Currently there are several toothpaste products that offer halal products, which contain the siwak content taught by the Prophet Muhammad and have a halal certificate from Indonesian Ulama Council. From the realm of media, technological, media and economic developments play an important role in the religious commodification. Abstract

This article makes an attempt to explain how Pancasila and Islam contribute to each other in the life of the state and strengthen the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Undoubtedly, the vast majority of the country's Muslims played a significant role in freeing the land from the colonial rule of other countries, laying the groundwork for the nation's future autonomy by forming the ideology and foundation of the state on the principles of Pancasila, and achieving these goals. The adoption of a law that governs sharia financial institutions and sharia non-banking institutions is compelling evidence that Islam and its teachings have made significant contributions to the improvement of the state of the Indonesian economy. At the same time, the Pancasila economic system is strengthened by the adoption of this law.

Abstract

The integration of science and religion is a topic of heated debate in the Western world. Ian G Barber describes this relationship between science and religion in terms of conflict, independence, dialogue, and integration. The theme of the relation between science and religion is not only a hot topic in the Western world, it has also attracted the attention of several contemporary Muslim thinkers. Unfortunately, in the discourse of Islamic sciences, the object of debate is more on criticism of secular science so that it needs to be Islamized, whereas at the same time, Islamic sciences also have serious internal problems. Using qualitative research methods by exploring authoritative text sources, this paper aims to offer a balanced perspective in viewing Western science and Islamic science. This research shows that both Western science and Islamic science have weaknesses. Western science is seen as secular science so that it loses its divine vision, while Islamic science is theocentric so that it loses its humanist vision. This finding has implications for different strategies in dealing with the two types of knowledge. Spiritualization is a strategy relevant to Western science, while humanization is a strategy relevant to Islamic sciences.

Abstract

Humans and everything in God’s creation will benefit from Islamic law. Through the establishment of beneficial rules, Islam seeks to advance the world and its inhabitants. Islamic law must contain advantages throughout history. Changes in the law and disagreements in the law that arise among Islamic jurists are all advantageous. Change is an essential component of human existence. This is due to the fact that God has provided humanity with a great deal of capacity to effect significant life changes. God endows people with three potentials: the potential for rationality or intellectual capacity, defensive potential, and offensive potential. These three potentials are the driving force and urge for humans to be able to differentiate between useful and harmful activities. Individually and socially, therefore, human life is highly dynamic, continually evolving, and ever-changing. These transformations and processes are known as social change in society. Islamic law must be revised due to the inevitability of societal development. Islamic law, as God’s rule that benefits humanity, is unquestionably capable of adapting to and responding to this societal transformation. To respond and adapt to these societal changes, Islamic jurists (fuqaha) created a widely accepted norm, namely, that Islamic law can alter and vary based on changes in time, location, circumstances, intents, and traditions. Social changes have ramifications for the evolution of Islamic law, while the evolution of Islamic law has implications for social change. The interaction between the two is mutualistic.

Ethnographic research involves extensive observations of the Bugis community in Tana Luwu, most often through participant observation, where researchers immersed in the daily lives of the community and observed and interviewed participants in the group. Bugis wedding ceremony in the implementation of mappacci or tudampenni means cleanliness of the body and sanctity of the soul. The value of sacredness is clearly seen from the implementation of various special rituals such as bathing refuse bala, reading barzanji things is the value of respect for women. On the other hand, community marriage has character values such as help; It is clearly a social value embodied in this tradition. The concept of help cannot be separated from the principle of gotong royong. Solidarity; The value of solidarity cannot be separated from this tradition. What's more, there has been a value that is maintained in this tradition, namely gotong royong and please help. Communicative; It is one of the most important parts of this tradition, because if there is no communication in any case, then it is very impossible that stage by stage of the implementation of the mappanre temme' tradition will be carried out. Abstract

This paper explains that in the case of the Corona(Covid-19) pandemic in Indonesia, many Muslim scholars and clerics differed in their response to the Corona outbreak, in which they give a different perspective that confuses people who do not really understand the Islamic teachings associated with this Corona outbreak. However, in the context of the responses of Muslimscholars toward Corona pandemic, it is recognized that the effort to overcome the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) through Medicine and Pharmacy is a human endeavor to strive for human safety in the world. This effort continues even though it is not easy. But many Muslim scholars and religious circles react emotionally and the leaders of these religious organizations will cause many followers or worshipers or members who then no longer believe or are pessimistic and lose confidence in certain sects. The government also cannot take advantage of this opportunity to make the direction of change more rational, more humane and civilized. Though this opportunity for change is available quite often in the span of productive power. In this context, many social scientists, especially anthropologists, have researched extraordinary drastic changes due to epidemics, pandemics or natural disasters, both due to human error and due to extreme pandemics and extreme natural changes. Indonesia as a developing country now is undergoing many unplanned drastic changes, and because of this, many social changes occur irregularly and without direction at all.
