In the current era of education, the utilization of computer-based materials is widespread and has become more common as years pass by. The researcher aims to determine the effectiveness of teaching literature using computer-based materials as a strategy in teaching Philippine literature to Grade 7 students. This study seeks to compare the level of learning in terms of knowledge and practical skills acquisition and craftsmanship between learners using computer-based instructional materials and those using print- based instructional materials in teaching Philippine Literature. A quasi-experimental design is highly appropriate and considered to be effective for this research because it uses the pre-testing and post-testing of the respondents about the investigation at hand. Findings showed that the students always use visual (spatial) learning styles as they prefer to learn using pictures, images, and spatial understanding. In addition, the results revealed that the pupils’ performance was improved with Computer-Aided Instruction (CAI). In line with this. the participants also showed preference to different methods such as the usage of DVD Video and social networking sites like Facebook for educational purposes. However, the research also uncovered setbacks to the ease of using computer-aided instructions. According to the participants, these difficulties include the availability of hardware and software, lack of funds, computer illiteracy, and attitudes of teachers.

One of the modalities used to continue education here in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic is the online learning modality. Online learning will be considered successful if the teachers handling this modality are equipped with appropriate knowledge and the right attitudes and online practices for this kind of teaching. To be regarded as an influential online teacher, their readiness for the modality should be high. This research study describes the of preparedness of high school teacher-respondents of Locloc National High School regarding the use of online learning modality by assessing the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the thirty-six teacher-respondents focusing on the use of online learning. An online questionnaire was developed and given to each respondent, following strict health guidelines and protocols. Constructed on the research outcomes, Locloc National High School teachers have high knowledge, proper attitudes, and sound practices when it comes to implementing and utilizing the online class modality in their school. Therefore, respondents have a high level of readiness about using online learning modalities for their students. For further improvement of teachers regarding the use of online learning modality, an Online Learning Modality Enhancement Program (Table 20) should be taken into consideration. Other divisions should adapt it for teacher readiness enhancement for online learning modality.

Before the implementation of online learning, students graphed functions on paper using either a ballpen or pencil. However, online learning materials including online graphing calculators were being encouraged to be used since the modality had shifted into online learning. DESMOS is one of the online learning materials that can be used in graphing functions. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of DESMOS as a graphing tool for teachers and students together with the benefits of this software together with the perceptions towards it. The study was conducted with 23 Grade 11 students taking up Accountancy and Business Management during the classes of Statistics and Probability. The research design used was mixed consisting of comparative statistical techniques and narrative analysis. The interventions involving DESMOS were done virtually through Google Meet. Their skills before and after the interventions involving DESMOS were compared and based on the statistical aspect, there was a significant difference between the skills before and after the interventions with a t-statistical value of -3.78, which was lower than the critical value of -2.074. Besides, the students were able to collaborate in terms of tasks and reflect on what they had learned in DESMOS, and they were able to see DESMOS as an accessible, convenient, and effective graphing tool. DESMOS should be widely used as a teaching tool in graphing functions so students will be able to appreciate technology with mathematics since people are now living in the era of technology.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of home visitation on learner’s behavior in Abaca Elementary School in Mabini, Bohol. The subjects of the study were the kindergarten pupils of the said schools and evaluations focusing on the learner’s manifested behaviors were collected based on their respective parent’s perception and observations throughout the whole three quarters of the school year. The samples were clustered in to two groups: first group with no home visitation applied and the second group where home visitation was employed. Applying appropriate statistical treatments on the data collected, home visitation was found to have a significantly positive effect on the development and progress of the behavior of the learners as compared to the learner’s where home visitation was not employed. It was recommended that a fairly adequate and regular home visitation must be executed by teachers in every alternate quarter within the school year. A firming parent behavior also is contributor to the success of the whole visit conduct and facilitates the easier flow of the planned activities. Collaborative procedures are executed to ensure that all measures taken in this research yields benefits for the improvement of the learner’s behavior and greater chances of decreasing the misbehavior being exhibit by this learner. At the last part of this paper, a proposed home visitation module was also developed and formulated.

Many difficulties are experienced by students when understanding English text reading by Vocational High School (SMK) students. There are many factors that influence reading text. This study aims to help students in understanding English text so that the difficulties experienced by students in understanding descriptive text and the factors of difficulty that influence it can be known. This study was conducted on class I Culinary Arts students at State Vocational High School (SMKN) 9 Padang. The type of research conducted was descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews, observations and document analysis. The number of student subjects studied was 35 students. The results of this study were 69.5% of students experienced difficulties with very strong answers to the difficulties they found. As many as 23.1% of students experienced difficulties with the normal category. As many as 6.3% of students who did not experience difficulties were very difficult and as many as 1.1% of students did not experience difficulties at all. These results indicate that students with a strong category still find many difficulties in reading comprehension in the descriptive texts they have read. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the difficulty in understanding descriptive text reading are lack of vocabulary mastery, lack of motivation to learn English, learning without a tutor or learning online, and less supportive environmental or social factors. So, this study can help schools in taking action to further improve students' abilities that can help students in vocational schools.

Short Stories (Cerpen) are literary works containing fictional stories packaged in a concise and clear form. The story presented is in the form of the author's imagination. Short stories have hidden images that can be used as learning media. Each noun in the story is replaced with a note that hides the picture of that noun. This research used subjects in seventh grade (VII) junior high school (SMP) level. The research stages were carried out in cycles of planning, action, observation and reflection. In the cycle stage there were four meetings with 13 class VII students at State Junior High School (SMPN) 5 Padang. This research was conducted on students who have limited vocabulary. Researchers recommend that an English teacher use short stories with hidden pictures as an alternative medium for learning vocabulary. The results of the paired sample test analysis show a p-value of 0.003 < 0.05 and a t-value of 3.792 with df -9. Thus, the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and there is a significant increase in the use of short stories with hidden pictures to increase students' vocabulary achievement. So, this research can be a recommendation in using learning media to increase students' ability to master the components or other English skills in different classes, subjects and activities.
