Abstract

The background factor for this research is the importance of mathematical communication skills (KKM), but in practice there are still many students who have low abilities in mathematical communication. This study intends to provide an overview of students' mathematical communication skills (KKM) with indicators of drawing, mathematical expression and writing. The method used is descriptive qualitative in which the subject will use class VIII students of SMP N 13 Dumai totaling 30 people. The research instrument is in the form of three essay test questions. To obtain in-depth information, interviews were conducted with three students whose abilities were heterogeneous and selected from all students who took the test. The results of this study indicate that 26.67% of students are classified as high, 53.33% of students are classified as moderate and 20% of students are classified as low. The factor that causes the low ability of students' mathematical communication is the lack of students' ability to express mathematics

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat cepat dengan big data dapat dimanfaatkan dalam bidang pendidikan khususnya pembelajaran. Melalui pemanfaatan teknologi maka Universitas Terbuka mengembangkan Sistem Belajar Jarak Jauh (SBJJ). SBJJ memiliki tingkat fleksibilitas tinggi dan lebih menekankan pada student centered learning. Salah satu media yang dapat dikembangkan dalam tutorial tatap muka dengan tutorial berbasis sistem android. Pemanfaatan android pada pembelajaran dapat berisi rangkuman materi dan peta konsep serta mengadakan pretest, tugas tutorial, mengerjakan latihan soal, serta posttest. Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis android pada matakuliah Pembelajaran Matematika SD. Pengembangan media pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D dari Thiagarajan, Semmel dan Semmel. Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan angket. Hasil penelitian. Dihasil pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis android pada matakuliah Pembelajaran Matematika SD dengan kategori valid. Hasil pengembangan media sebagai berikut a). validasi media oleh pakar dengan rata-rata 4,07 dengan kategori Valid, b). Hasil uji keterbacaan kecil menghasilkan penilaian 3,92 dengan kategori valid dan hasil uji keterbacaan besar menghasikan nilai 4,04 dengan kategori sangat valid. Kata kunci: Android, Media Pembalajaran, Pembelajaran Matematika SD ABSTRACT The rapid technology development and based on big data can be utilized in education especially learning. Through the utilization of technology, open university developed a remote learning system (SBJJ). SBJJ has a high level of flexibility and more emphasis on student centered learning. One of the media that can be developed in tutorial with android system. Android utilization on learning can contain a summary of the material and the concept map as well as conduct pretest, tutorial assignments, work on the problem, and posttest. The purpose of this research is to develop an android-based learning media in elementary school mathematics learning which are described specifically. The development of media learning used 4-D models from Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. Further, the data collection methods were interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Moreover, the research result were the development of android-based learning media on the learning course of Elementary Mathematics Education with valid categories. The results of the media development are as follows a). Media validation by an expert got an average of 4.07 which had a valid category, b). Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of students, where there are many factors that influence this, one of which is the student's learning style. This study aims to determine the effect of learning styles on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is ex-post-facto research and was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Mawasangka using a sample of 52 students. From the results of the analysis carried out, it was found that there was a relationship between student learning styles and students' mathematical communication abilities. This was because rhit > rtab (0.38> 0.27), the relationship formed was a positive one-way relationship because of the positive rhit value. In addition, from the one-way ANOVA, it was found that Fcount> Ftable, it was concluded that there were differences in students' mathematical communication skills when viewed from their learning styles and this difference was significant. So it can be concluded that the learning style has an effect on students' mathematical communication skills, and this influence is a positive influence. Abstract

Pemilihan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan pola pikir mahasiswa di jaman sekarang dimana semua berbasis teknologi merupakan salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Pemanfaatan software camtasia dan microsoft powerpoint dalam pembelajaran memberi kesempatan mahasiswa untuk bisa melihat tahap demi tahap materi yang diajarkan dengan efektif sehingga perhatian mahasiswa menjadi lebih fokus dan termotivasi. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah: apakah ada perbedaan kompetensi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah matematika 1 yang pembelajaranya menggunakan media video berbasis camtasia dengan yang tidak, dan apakah rata-rata kompetensi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah matematika 1 dapat mencapai 70. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian eksperimen yang menggunakan desain posttest-only control design. Analisis statistik data akhir pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen dengan uji t dua pihak memberikan hasil bahwa ada perbedaan kompetensi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah matematika 1 yang pembelajaranya menggunakan media video berbasis camtasia dengan yang tidak. Rata-rata kompetensi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah matematika 1 dapat mencapai 70. Kata kunci: multimedia pembelajaran, camtasia studio, PGSD. ABSTRACT Nowadays the selection of instructional media in accordance with the mindset of students where everything is based on technology becomes one of the important things to achieve learning goals in higher education. The use of Camtasia software and microsoft powerpoint give the students opportunity to be able to see step by step the material being taught effectively to the attention of students to be more focused and motivated. Problems in this study are: whether there are differences in student competence in the subject of mathematics 1 using Camtasia-based video media and does the average score of students’ competence in the subject of mathematics 1 reach 70. This study was an experimental research using posttest-only control design. Data was analysed by t-test (two-tailed). The result shows that the average score of students’ competence in the subject Mathematics 1 passed 70 and it significantly higher than the score of control group. Abstract

The low level of student discipline in learning mathematics can affect student learning outcomes. Students’ discipline in learning during a pandemic that takes place online is difficult to pay attention to. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to determine and observe the level of students’ discipline. This article aims to describe the level of discipline of junior high school students in participating in mathematics lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a qualitative descriptive case study research. The subjects in this study were 25 grade VII students of MTs Al-Amin Cikaso for the academic year 2020/2021. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and documentation. Technical data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: (1) the students had a high level of discipline in obeying school rules, (2) the students had a low level of discipline in participating in ongoing learning, (3) the students had a high level of discipline in carrying out the duties of the teacher, and (4) the students have a moderate level of discipline in carrying out learning at home. Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh beberapa peneliti sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa kemandirian belajar siswa masih rendah. Rendahnya kemandirian belajar disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya kemampuan siswa itu sendiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa SMP di Kabupaten Cianjur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode korelasi. Penelitian diawali dengan memberikan tes berupa instrumen soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan angket yang dapat mengukur kemandirian belajar siswa. Selanjutnya, peneliti melakukan wawancara dengan guru. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang baik. Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil uji korelasi 0,808. Angka tersebut menunjukkan pengaruh yang sangat kuat. Kata Kunci: kemandirian belajar, kemampuan pemecahan masalah. ABSTRACT Most studies examine that the student’s independent learning is still low. This is caused by several factors. One of them is the ability of the students themselves. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of students’ learning independence to mathematical problem solving ability. The population of this research is 27 Junior High School students in Cianjur. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The study begins with having the students to do the problem-solving test and fill in the student learning independence questionnaire. The data and information were also collected by interviewing teachers. The results indicate that the students have good self-regulated learning and problem solving ability. It is reinforced with test results correlation 0.808. It means that there is a very strong influence. Keywords: self-regulated learning, problem solving ability.

Abstract

The research carried out in this article is a descriptive type of research to know the level of reasoning ability and analysis of the initial capacity in solving math problems of students in SDS Prestige Bilingual School on Minimum Competency Assessment and Non-Minimum Competency Assessment PISA like math-based questions. The subjects in this study were third-grade students of SDS Prestige Bilingual School for the 2021/2022 academic year, with a total of 14 students. The data collection method used in this study was to first distribute pretest questions to students with 60 minutes of processing time and continue with interviews. Interviews are intended to dig for more profound information about how students solve the given problems. The results of the pretest and interviews will be used as the primary data in answering the research problems. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it is obtained data that the research findings show students' initial reasoning abilities in general, students can solve the questions in the problem. In solving the questions given, some students tended to do trial and error, while the rest answered with good performance with answers that matched expectations. Abstract

Masa pandemi Covid-19 mengharuskan mahasiswa tetap kuliah dari rumah. Online learning dapat dijadikan alternatif solusi untuk tetap melaksanakan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran matematika di PGSD, Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya melalui online learning. Kriteria efektif dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimum dan respon mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran dalam kategori positif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan tes dan angket. Data kemampuan pemecahan masalah dianalisis menggunakan uji proporsi pihak kanan. Data observasi aktivitas dan respon mahasiswa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika melalui online learning efektif dilaksanakan di tengah pandemi covid-19. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimum dan respon mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran dalam kategori positif. Kendala yang sering terjadi adalah signal internet yang tidak selalu baik, beberapa mahasiswa kesulitan belajar mandiri dan diskusi kelompok. Seharusnya seorang dosen harus mempersiapkan perangkat pembelajaran online learning dengan baik sehingga hasilnyapun akan maksimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan belief matematik siswa kelas VIII, dan mengetahui pengaruh belief matematik siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas VIII. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk uji pengaruh. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, wawancara, dan tes. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII Bahasa SMP Eka Sakti Semarang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) prosentase siswa yang memiliki belief matematik sangat tinggi, tinggi, rendah, dan sangat rendah masing-masing adalah 12,82%, 74,36%, 12,82%, dan 0%; (2) aspek keyakinan tentang pendidikan matematika yaitu 71,79%, 17,95%, 10,26%, dan 0,00%; (3) aspek keyakinan tentang diri sendiri yaitu 41,03%, 46,15%, 12,82%, dan 0,00%; (4) aspek keyakinan tentang konteks sosial yaitu 17,95%, 12,82 %, 69,23%, dan 0,00%; (5) besar koefisien korelasi antara belief matematik dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah 0,531 dengan kontribusi sebesar 28,2%. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa belief matematik memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan setiap siswa memiliki belief matematik yang berbeda. Kata kunci: belief matematik, kemampuan pemecahan masalah. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to describe grade VII students’ mathematics beliefs, and to know its affect towards students’ problem solving skill. This is a descriptive study which carried out students of grade VII. Data was obtained by quisioner, interview, and test. The result shows that (1) percentage ofstudents mathematics beliefs belongs to very high, high, low, and very low level simultaneously is 12,82%, 74,36%, 12,82%, and 0%; (2) beliefs in math education 71,79%, 17,95%, 10,26%, and 0,00%; (3) belief in 41,03%, 46,15%, 12,82%, dan 0,00%; (4) aspek keyakinan tentang konteks sosial yaitu 17,95%, 12,82 %, 69,23%, dan 0,00%; (5) correlation coefficient between mathematics belief and problem solving skill is 0,531 with contribution as much as 28,2%. Abstract

Reading literacy activities are currently being held by all levels of education. Literacy activities have a positive effect on students in understanding information. The ability to understand information can be realized through mathematical representation, which is one of the main elements in mathematical understanding. This research can help educators in mapping the mathematical representation ability based on the reading interest of students. The purpose of this research is to identify which indicators can be mastered by students who have reading interests at high, medium, and low levels. This research is qualitative. The research subjects were students of the Mathematics Education Department of Ivet University. The data collection procedures used were scale, test, and interview. The instruments of this study were the reading interest scale, mathematical representation ability test, and interview sheets. The data analysis technique of this study adopted data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. The conclusions of this study are (1) students with high and medium reading levels have the ability to represent mathematical representations to model and interpret physical, social, and mathematical phenomena; have the ability of mathematical representations to create and use representations to communicate mathematical ideas or concepts; have the ability of mathematical representations in selecting, applying, and translating mathematical representations to solve problems, (2) students with a low reading level have lacked on the ability of mathematical representations to use representations to model and interpret physical, social, and mathematical phenomena, thus it caused them couldn’t mastering the ability of mathematical representations to create and use representations to communicate mathematical ideas or concepts and the ability of mathematical representations to select, apply, and translate mathematical representations to solve problems.
