Abstract

The set is one of the important materials for students. However, in reality, many students still experience some difficulties in learning the set material, especially on the concept of set operations. So we need the right media and context in learning mathematics on set material. Therefore, this study aims to develop a learning trajectory using the traditional market of Demak Bintoro as a context in the learning process using the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (IRME) approach. The research method used is design research, which consists of three stages: preliminary design, experimental design, and retrospective analysis. The result of this research is the design of the learning trajectory of the set material using the traditional market of Demak Bintoro. This learning path consists of 4 activities, namely observing the interactive video of the Demak Bintoro traditional market to explain the meaning of sets, explaining subset universes and describing Venn diagrams, explaining set operations on (slice and union), and solving contextual problems related to set operations. The results of this study indicate that the use of the context of the Demak Bintoro traditional market can stimulate students' conceptual understanding of the set material. Furthermore, the results of this study are expected to be used as inspiration for exploring other local wisdom that can be used as a context in learning mathematics. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat self confidence mahasiswa, hubungan pemahaman konsep geometri dan self confidence mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Pembelajaran Mikro. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Pada mata kuliah Pembelajaran Mikro terdapat 8 keterampilan dasar mengajar, salah satunya adalah keterampilan menjelaskan dimana mahasiswa harus dapat mengorganisasikan konsep geometri transformasi dalam tata urutan yang terencana secara sistematis, sehingga mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Perlu adanya self confidence dalam menyampaikan materi khususnya pemahaman konsep geometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh hubungan yang linier antara pemahaman konsep geometri transformasi dan self confidence mahasiswa calon guru matematika pada mata kuliah Pembelajaran Mikro. Tingkat keeratan hubungan kedua variabel berdasarkan koefisien korelasi berada pada kategori kuat yaitu 0,700. Hubungan kedua variabel tersebut menunjukkan arah positif artinya, peningkatan pemahaman konsep geometri transformasi berbanding lurus dengan self confidence mahasiswa calon guru matematika. Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep geometri, self confidence, pembelajaran mikro. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the level of self-confidence of students and relationship between understanding the concept of geometry and self-confidence of students in the Micro Learning subject. This research is quantitative research. In the Micro Learning subject there are 8 basic teaching skills, one of them is the skill to explain where students must be able to organize the geometry concept of transformation in a systematic order planned so that it is easily understood by students. Self confidence is needed in delivering the material, especially understanding the concept of geometry. At a significance level of 5% a linear relationship was found between the understanding of the geometry concept of transformation and the self confidence of mathematics teacher candidates in the Micro Learning subject. The relationship between the two variables based on the correlation coefficient is in the strong category, 0.700. The relationship between these two variables shows a positive relation, it means that as the understanding of geometric concept gets better, the self confidence of mathematics teacher candidates get higher. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts of junior high school students. One effort to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is to use a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning approach that encourages students to be able to open their mindsets in finding new knowledge, developing creativity, and making students active explorers by doing the mathematical activities directly with the facilities prepared by the teacher during the learning process. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 21 Serang in 2021/2022 which aims to determine the effect of learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of junior high school students on line and angle material. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with the nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group type of design. This study involved two classes consisting of experimental and control classes. The sample of this study was class VII D, which consisted of 30 students as the experimental class and VII A, which consisted of 30 students as the control class. The experimental class applies the STEM learning approach and the control class applies conventional learning. The instrument used is in the form of a test description of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The data from this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the final achievement and improvement of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts using the STEM learning approach in learning mathematics is better than students using conventional learning. Thus, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning approach can be applied to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts of junior high school students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem Based Learning dan model Cooperative Learning tipe Think Pair Share berbantuan geogebra. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri dari dokumentasi, tes, dan observasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini digunakan analisis variansi, regresi, dan uji proporsi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mendapat model PBL berbantuan geogebra memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sama dengan siswa yang mendapat model TPS berbantuan geogebra, dan kedua model pembelajaran tersebut menghasilkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa pada model PBL dan TPS berbantuan geogebra, terdapat pengaruh keaktifan belajar siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematisnya. Model PBL dan TPS berbantuan geogebra juga menghasilkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang memenuhi ketuntasan klasikal. Kata kunci: Problem Based Learning, Think Pair Share, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the importance of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model and the Cooperative Learning model Think Pair Share type assisted by geogebra. The type of research used is experimental research. Data collection methods consist of documentation, testing, and observation. Data analysis in this study used analysis of variance, regression, and proportion test. The results of this study indicate that students who get geogebra-assisted PBL models have the same mathematical problem solving abilities as students who get geogebra-assisted TPS models, and both of these learning models produce students' mathematical problem-solving abilities better than conventional learning models. The results also showed that in the PBL and TPS models assisted by geogebra, there was an influence on students' learning activeness with their mathematical problem solving abilities. The geogebra-assisted PBL and TPS models also produce problem-solving abilities that meet classical completeness. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS (Think pair share) berbasis budaya Minangkabau terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, (2) menganalisis interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS (Think pair share) berbasis budaya Minangkabau dan kemampuan awal matematis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varians (ANAVA) dua jalur. Hasil penelitiaan menunjukkan: (1) terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS (Think pair share) berbasis budaya Minangkabau terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, (2) terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS (Think pair share) berbasis budaya Minangkabau dan kemampuan awal matematis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to: (1) analyze the influence of Minangkabau culture based TPS (Think pair share) cooperative learning models on students' problem solving abilities, (2) analyze the interactions between TPS (Think pair share) type cooperative learning modelsMinangkabau culture and the initial mathematical ability of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. the instrument used is a problem solving ability test. Data analysis was performed by two-way analysis of variance (ANAVA). The results of the research show: (1) there is an influence of the Minangkabau culture type TPS (Think pair share) cooperative learning model on students' problem solving abilities, (2) there is an interaction between the TPS (Think pair share) type cooperative learning model based on the Minangkabau culture and the initial mathematical ability of students' problem solving abilities. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil representasi materi PLSV (Persamaan Linear Satu Variabel) siswa SMP bedasarkan gaya belajar Kolb yang terdiri dari assimilator, akomodator, konverger, dan diverger. Peneliti melakukan wawancara kepada empat siswa SMP N 22 Surabaya yang memenuhi karakteristik keempat tipe gaya belajar Kolb. Terdapat tiga tahapan analisis data, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Subjek Assimilator (SA) mengaitkan hubungan antara berbagai representasi yang disajikan dengan melihat kesamaan dari representasi yang diberikan dan membuat representasi simbolis. Subjek akomodator (SM) mengaitkan bentuk representasi simbolis (S) dan kata-kata (K) bedasarkan kesamaan bilangan. Subjek Konverger (SK) mengaitkan berbagai bentuk representasi kata-kata (K), diagram (D) dan simbol (S) dari segi kepraktisan. Subjek Diverger (SD) mengaitkan berbagai bentuk representasi dari segi kesamaan angka dan huruf yang diketahui dan hasil penyelesaian yang diperoleh. Kata kunci: representasi, PLSV, gaya belajar Kolb. ABSTRACT This is a descriptive qualitative research. The aim of this study is to describe the representation profile of Linear Equation of One Variable (LEOV) of Junior High School Students based on Kolb’ Learning styles: assimilator, akomodator, konverger, and diverger. The researcher conduct an interview with four SMP N 22 Surabaya students whom qualify the characteristics of Kolb’s learning styles. There are three analysis data phases: data reduction, data representation, and conclusion. Based on the result, Assimilator Subject (SA) make connection between LEOV’s representation by looking for its similarity and prefer symbol representation. Akomodator Subject (SM) make connection between symbol representation (S) and word representation (K) based on the number similarity. Converger Subject (SK) make connection between representations: word (K), diagram (D) and symbol (S) representation based on its practical uses. Diverger Subject (SD) make connection between representation based on given word and number similarities and the solution which is derived. Keywords: representation, LEOV, Kolb’s learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical information about the effect of implementing the ICARE learning model (Introduction, Connect, Apply, Reflect, Extend) in distance learning on students’ problem-solving abilities at SMK Negeri 2 Karawang. The research method used was a quasi-experimental with posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were all class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Karawang. Sampling using Cluster Random Sampling to determine the affordable population and Simple Random Sampling to determine the sample. Class X TB 1 was chosen to be the experimental class and class X TB 3 was selected as the control class. The results of the statistical hypothesis testing were then carried out using the the-test of two independent samples with a significant level of 5% concluded that the mean test results of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in the experimental class were higher than the control class. The large effect test carried out obtained the result of d = 0.8, this shows that the ICARE learning model in distance learning has a significant effect on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students at SMK Negeri 2 Karawang on the sequence and series material. The influence given is 79% and is included in the large category. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain 2x2 faktorial. Tempat penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri di Kota Rantepao, tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri Rantepao dan sampel diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan jumlah anggota sampel sebanyak 78 siswa. Model pembelajaran sebagai variabel bebas, minat belajar sebagai variabel intervening, dan hasil belajar matematika siswa sebagai variabel respon. Model pembelajaran discovery learning digunakan pada kelompok perlakuan, dan model pembelajaran langsung digunakan pada kelompok pembanding. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes hasil belajar matematika dan skala minat belajar dan digunakan ANAVA dua jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) model pembelajaran dan minat belajar mempunyai pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa, dan (2) model pembelajaran discovery learning lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran langsung. ABSTRACT The major objective of this research was to investigate the effects of applying discovery learning on mathematics achievement in terms of student's learning interest. The research methodology was a quasi-experimental and the design of the research was a 2x2 factorial. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri in Rantepao City in academic year 2014/2015. The population of research was made up of all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Rantepao from where a sample of 78 students was obtained by using cluster random sampling technique. Learning model as the independent variable, student's learning interest as intervening variable, and mathematics achievement of student as response variable. The treatment class group taught by using Discovery learning model. While the comparison group was taught by Direct Instruction. The data were collected using the mathematics learning test instrument and learning interest scale. The data collected were analyzed with two way ANOVA. The findings showed that: (1) learning model and interest in learning have an effect on student learning outcomes, and (2) Discovery learning model is better than Direct Instruction. Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of class VIII B students in learning independence in the Eliciting Activities Model (MEAs). This research method uses the descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were students of class VIII B of MTs Muhammadiyah 7 Purbalingga, which consisted of two students for each category. The data in this study were taken with a problem-solving ability test and a learning independence questionnaire, which was processed through three stages: data reduction, data processing, and concluding. This study concludes that the mathematical problem-solving ability of class VIII B students is included in the medium category. Likewise, students' learning independence is included in the medium category. Therefore, there is a relationship between learning independence and mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII B students in Eliciting Activities Model (MEAs) for flat-sided building materials. Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan budaya yang memiliki unsur matematika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana kontribusi penerapan etnomatematika pada proses pembelajaran matematika, khususnya untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Bagaimana hasil pembelajaran yang menerapkan etnomatematika dalam proses pembelajaran matematika dikelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, peneliti melakukan kegiatan observasi atau pengamatan secara langsung serta wawancara kepada pihak terkait atau narasumber tentang pembelajaran menggunakan etnomatematika. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) penerapan pembelajaran matematika yang diterapkan dengan konsep etnomatematika mempunyai kontribusi yang besar dalam membantu pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran khususnya materi bangun datar dan bangun ruang, kontribusinya jelas terlihat dalam peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa, dan (2) terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa karena adanya penerapan pembelajaran dengan konsep etnomatematika hal ini terlihat dari nilai hasil ulangan harian siswa dan juga terlihat dari antusiasme siswa ketika guru sedang mengajar menggunakan etnomatematika sebagai sumber dan bahan ajar pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci:etnomatematika sunda, sekolah dasar, pembelajaran matematika. ABSTRACT Ethnomathematics is a culture that have an element of mathematics.Objectives of the study are to uncover the contribution of the application of etnomatematika to the process to learning mathematics, especially for primary school student andthe learning outcomes that apply ethnomatematics in the learning process of mathematics in the classroom.The research method used was descriptive qualitative, researchers conducted direct observationsand interview to the teachers and students about learning using ethnomathematics. The result of this research are (1) the application of learning mathematics that is applied by the concept of etnomatematika have a significant contribution in helping students understanding of learning especially two dimensional three dimensional subject matter and (2) students’ learning outcomes has increased because the presence of the application of learning with the concept of the etnomatematika this can be seen from the results of daily remedial students and can also be seen from enthusiasm students as the teacher was teaching use etnomatematika as a source of and teaching materials learning mathematics.
