Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran powtoon lebih baik daripada kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran power point. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VII SMP IT Wihdatul Ummah Kolaka. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan teknik sampling jenuh, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas VIIIB sebagai kelas eksperimen II. Adapun data kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan instrument tes yang diberikan saat posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran power point yang terdiri dari 13 siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata (mean) 72,308. Sedangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran powtoon yang terdiri dari 16 siswa menunjukkan nilai rata-rata (mean) 76,801. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa dalam pengajaran materi aritmetika sosial untuk kelas ekperimen II sedikit lebih tinggi dibanding rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritismatematika siswa kelas eksperimen I. Selanjutnya hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t telah diperoleh nilai thitung (-0,892) ttabel (1,703), menunjukkan bahwa H0 diterima, secara inferensial ini berarti bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran powtoon tidak lebih baik daripada kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran power point

Abstract

Creative thinking skills were important for students to have to solve math problems appropriately. This article aims to provide an overview of junior high school students ability to think creatively. The images to be studied are related to students' abilities for fluency, flexibility, and originality. The topic in this article is the seventh-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta, with a total of 16 students who will be categorized based on high, medium, and low self-convidence. The data collection technique used a test in the form of five description questions in the material of rectangular flat building problems and interviews. The method used is the descriptive approach. The data analysis techniques in this article are based on Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results show that students' creative thinking skills are divided into 3 categories: 6% in the high category, 75% in the medium category, and 19% in the low category. This result shows that students ability to think creatively in solving rectangular flat problems is relatively easy, which means that their capacity to solve rectangular flat problems based on creative thinking steps hasn't been maximized.

Abstract

Creative thinking and problem solving skills are essential in facing the challenges of the 21st century. This study aims to (1) test the effectiveness of the contextual approach CPS model in improving creative thinking skills in mathematics problem solving and (2) describe creative thinking skills in mathematics problem solving in terms of Self Regulated Learning (SRL). This type of research is a mixed method research that combines quantitative and qualitative research methods sequentially. In this study, 6 research subjects were taken based on the level of SRL in class XI students of SMA N 5 Semarang. The results showed that (1) contextual approach CPS learning is effective in improving creative thinking ability in mathematics problem solving, and (2) research subjects with high SRL category were able to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking ability in mathematics problem solving, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty; research subjects with moderate SRL category only fulfilled two indicators of creative thinking ability in mathematics problem solving, namely fluency, and flexibility; research subjects with low SRL category were only able to fulfill the indicator of creative thinking ability in mathematics problem solving, namely fluency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) assisted with Quizizz in accelerating mathematical problem solving abilities. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 13 Malang consisting of 33 students. This classroom action research was carried out in even semesters with repeated cycles until the indicators of action success were met, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research results in cycle I showed that the results of observation of activity were 79%, the results of observations of student activities were 74.5% and the completeness of learning outcomes reached 63.63% so that they did not meet the indicators of success of the action. In cycle II, the results of observing teacher activity increased by 11.75% to 90.75%, the results of observing student activities increased by 14.25% to 88.75% and the completeness of learning outcomes increased by 18.19% to 81.82% . Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Quizizz-assisted Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model can accelerate the math problem solving abilities of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 13 Malang.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the sevima edlink application through application in lectures using mixed methods. The advantages and disadvantages obtained are expected to be input for the university for the development of a better campus LMS. A good LMS will support the implementation of good MBKM through distance learning programs. In addition to finding out the advantages and disadvantages of Edlink, another important point is to involve students including lecturers involved to actively participate in using learning technology. This is one of the important points of this research. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu kelebihan dan kekurangan aplikasi sevima edlink melalui penerapan dalam perkuliahan yang menggunakan metode campuran. Kelebihan dan kekurangan yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi universitas demi pengembangan LMS kampus yang lebih baik. LMS yang baik akan mendukung terlaksananya MBKM yang baik melalui program belajar jarak jauh. Selain mencari tahu kelebihan dan kekurangan Edlink, poin penting lainnya adalah melibatkan mahasiswa termasuk dosen yang terlibat untuk ikut aktif dalam menggunakan teknologi pembelajaran. Hal ini yang menjadi salah satu poin penting dilakukannya penelitian ini.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the thought process of students in solving problems in terms of personality types guardian and idealist in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Palu. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The main instrument in this research is the researcher himself and the supporting instruments are The Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS), math problems, and interviews. The results of this study show that guardian students and idealist students are able to perform all stages of the thinking process in solving math problems, namely receiving information, processing information, and forming conclusions. Guardian and idealist students at the stage of receiving information read the problem well. Guardian students read enough once to understand the problem, while idealist students read repeatedly to understand the problem. At the information processing stage, guardian students can explain the problem solving plan while idealist students have difficulty explaining the solution plan. At the conclusion formation stage, guardian students consistently solve the problem according to what was previously planned. idealist students at the conclusion formation stage can solve the problem even though at the information processing stage they cannot explain the solution plan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir komputasi matematis siswa. Sampel penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas 8 Madrasah Tsanawiyah Hifzhil Qur’an (MTs) Yayasan Islamic Centre Sumatera Utara tahun ajaran 2023-2024 yang berjumlah 53 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling sehingga peneliti memiliki 2 kelompok kelas, yaitu kelas 8-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas 8-4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif eksperimen dengan desain penelitian berupa True Experimental Design bentuk Posttest-Only Control Design. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan Independent Sample t Test dan memperoleh nilai sig. 0,001. Dengan demikian, H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir komputasi matematis siswa. This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning model on students' mathematical computational thinking ability. The sample of this study involved 8th grade students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Hifzhil Qur'an Yayasan Islamic Centre Sumatera Utara in the 2023-2024 school year totaling 53 people. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling so that researchers had 2 class groups, namely class 8-3 as the experimental class and class 8-4 as the control class. The method used is quantitative experimentation with a research design in the form of True Experimental Design in the form of Post-test-Only Control Design. The analysis of this study used Independent Sample t Test and obtained a sig value. 0,001. Thus, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of using Problem Based Learning model on students' mathematical computational thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe students' mathematical literacy abilities based on the level of mathematical connection ability using a qualitative descriptive approach. The researcher as the main instrument was assisted by test questions to measure the ability to connect mathematics and mathematical literacy, as well as interviews. The research subjects were 3 class IX students of SMP Islam Pakis. Subject selection was made based on high, medium, and low levels of mathematical connection ability. The results showed: The selection of research subjects was carried out by purposive sampling technique based on high, medium, and low levels of mathematical connection ability. The results of the data analysis obtained: (1) students at a high level of mathematical connection succeeded in achieving all indicators of mathematical literacy ability, such as being able to identify the information contained in the problem, make mathematical models, do reasoning, use symbols, design and implement appropriate problem strategies, summarizing the results, as well as conducting evaluations; (2) students who are categorized in the moderate level of mathematical connection ability are able to achieve five of the seven indicator components contained in mathematical literacy ability; (3) students who belong to a low level of mathematical connection ability are only able to achieve three of the seven indicator components needed in literacy skills.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik berpikir kritis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Ciri-ciri berpikir kritis mata pelajaran dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri adalah: (a) pada kategori klarifikasi, mata pelajaran MA dan FN dapat merumuskan masalah dan informasi yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan masalah dengan tepat dan jelas (b) Pada kategori penilaian mata pelajaran MA berusaha mengumpulkan informasi yang relevan meskipun metode awal dalam mengidentifikasi masalah kurang tepat. Sedangkan subjek FN berusaha mengumpulkan informasi dengan menggunakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan penting, informasi yang relevan, dan ide-ide untuk menghubungkan suatu masalah dengan masalah lainnya dengan jelas dan tepat. (c) Pada kategori inferensi, subjek MA dalam menyelesaikan masalah membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan informasi yang telah diperoleh namun mengalami kesalahan dan mengambil kesimpulan yang salah. Sedangkan subjek FN menyelesaikan soal dengan langkah-langkah yang tepat dan jelas, namun karena kesalahan penulisan satuan, FN mengambil kesimpulan yang salah. (d) Pada kategori strategi, subjek MA tidak berpikir terbuka dengan tidak mengajukan alternatif lain yang mungkin dilakukan dalam menyelesaikan masalah. sedangkan subjek FN berpikir terbuka dalam mengajukan strategi atau alternatif lain ketika menyelesaikan masalah.The aim of this research is to describe the critical thinking characteristics of male and female students in solving geometric problems. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research, because this research aims to describe and analyze phenomena or events individually or in groups. The approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach, because the results of this research are in the form of descriptions, namely descriptions in the form of words or sentences regarding the characteristics of students' critical thinking in solving geometry problems based on gender. Improving critical thinking skills in mathematics learning is very necessary because critical thinking and mathematics are an inseparable unit. The results of this research show that the critical thinking characteristics of subjects in solving geometric problems are: (a) in the clarification category, MA and FN subjects can formulate problems and appropriate information to solve problems precisely and clearly (b) in the assessment category (assessment) MA and FN subjects tried to collect relevant information, but MA identified the problem incorrectly (c) In the inference category, MA and FN subjects made wrong conclusions. (d) In the strategies category, MA subjects do not propose other alternatives, while FN subjects propose other strategies or alternatives when solving problems.

Abstract

Memasukkan unsur budaya kedalam kegiatan belajar mengajar merupakan upaya untuk melesatarikan budaya yang ada di sekitar siswa, dengan mengaitkan materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung dengan arsitektur Mesjid Agung Medan, diharapkan siswa terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran dan mengembangkan pemahaman matematika yang lebih mendalam. Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah untuk menghasilkan LKPD  etnomatematika yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IX-3 SMP Pahlawan Nasional. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Lengkung yang meliputi tabung, kerucut, dan bola. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi analisis, perencanaan, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi, angket respon, dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil uji validitas LKPD masuk dalam kategori sangat valid dengan rata-rata 97%, sedangkan hasil praktikalitas LKPD masuk dalam kategori sangat praktis angket guru dengan persentase 95%, dan angket siswa dengan persentase 87% dengan kategori sangat praktis. hasil post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematis, dengan hasil 0,72 adalah kategori efektif. Sehingga LKPD Materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Lengkung Berbasis Etnomatematika Pada Arsitektur Masjid Agung Medan Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis valid, praktis, dan efektif. Incorporating cultural elements into teaching and learning activities is an effort to localize the culture around students by linking the material of the curved side space building with the architecture of the Medan Great Mosque. It is hoped that students will be involved in the learning process and develop a deeper understanding of mathematics. This development research aims to produce valid, practical, and effective ethnomathematics LKPD to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills in class IX-3 of National Hero Junior High School. The product developed is made of Curved Side Spaces material, which includes tubes, cones, and spheres. This research uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in data collection include validation sheets, response questionnaires, and problem-solving ability tests. The results showed the results of the LKPD validity test were in the very valid category with an average of 97%, while the results of the practicality of LKPD were in the very practical category of teacher questionnaires with a percentage of 95%, and so the student questionnaires with a percentage of 87%. Post-test results show an increased student's ability to solve mathematical problems, with a result of 0.72 being an effective category. So that the LKPD of Curved Side Room Building Material Based on Ethnomathematics in Medan Great Mosque Architecture to Improve Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability is valid, practical, and effective.
