Abstract

Polymer insulators have become an alternative to change the ceramic insulator because it has a better dielectric properties, mass density is lighter and can be made at room temperature vulcanized so it is economically more advantageous. But, the disadvantage is prone to degradation due to environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation, temperature, humidity or rain, and pollution, especially if located in the tropical areas. To overcome these disadvantages, silane materials was added to epoxy resin. This study uses an epoxy resin polymer material made of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) and metaphenylene diamine (MPDA) and silane. Ratio of epoxy resin and silane were 60% and 40% respectively. Dimensions of the test material were 120 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm. The Inclined-Plane Tracking (IPT) method according to standard IEC 587:1984 was used. The NH4Cl and Gresik Industrial and Parangtritis beach contaminants were used in this research to compare it others. The results showed that the test sample with a contact angle 86.18Omore resistant to leakage current and insulation failure, it was indicated by the timing of the discharge in 17.001 s and insulation failure in 17.812 s. When a sample tests more hydrophobic then the leakage current and insulation failure longer to occurs. The degradation phenomenon is most severe damage from a beach Parangtritis contaminant than industrial and NH4Cl contaminants.

Abstract

Gas hydrate is a type of hydrocarbon formed like crystals and is formed in the seabed sediment layer. Water temperature and pressure affected the area where gas hydrates are formed; gas hydrates are composed of gas and water elements. Gas hydrates have the potential as an alternative to current uses of oils and gasses. The identification of gas hydrates on the seabed can be detected using low-frequency acoustic, seismic technology. This research aims to identify the presence of gas hydrate in Aru Sea waters based on changes in the seismic character of the gas hydrate. The method used is seismic data processing with ProMAX software. This research uses seismic data for the 3.01 trajectory acquired by the Marine Geology Research and Development Center in 2016 in the Aru Sea. Based on the data processed, gas hydrate was detected on the 3.01 line with a depth of 5,925 meters. Gas hydrate indicator on the seabed is characterized by cutting stratigraphy, reversing its polarity, high amplitude, and shape following the seabed.

Abstract

This paper presents an online monitoring system and PV system performance analysis under various weather conditions. The PV monitoring system consists of an Arduino sensors circuit, and a design monitor display built using Visual Basic.Net programming. The monitoring system was applied to the 1.25 kW PV system mounted on the roof of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Andalas University. The rooftop PV system is connected to the PLN grid using five units of 250 Wp polycrystalline solar panels and mounted flat in series connected to the load through a 2 kW grid tie inverter. The process of data retrieval of the results of the monitoring took place in real time and displayed in the form of data tables and graphs. The data information of the PV system comes from the sensors connected to the Arduino device which then connected to a PC. Furthermore, data recorded using Visual Basic.Net software converted into Microsoft Excel so it can be analysed further. The PV system performance analysis consists of the synchronisation process, power curve and electrical energy that can be generated by a rooftop PV system. The average solar panels start generating electricity from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm for sunny weather, but for rainy weather, the power of the PV goes down and disconnects early before sunset. The results presented show that the performance of PV systems connected to the PLN network is highly dependent on weather conditions. The monitoring result of power and energy potency can be used as a consideration parameter for a feasibility study of rooftop PV system installed in the tropical area.

Abstract

Fingerprint image matching is an important procedure in fingerprint recognition. Robust fingerprint image matching under a variety of different image capture conditions is difficult to achieve, because of changes in finger pressure, variation of the angle, etc. Fingerprint matching is very important for the development of fingerprint system recognition that is sensitive to finger pressure. This paper proposes a fingerprint matching algorithm that enables the so-called fingerprint template (extracted specific part (region of interest (ROI)) of a person’s fingerprints to be matched to the different fingerprint of the same person or different people taken on different time, angle and a different finger pressure using normalized cross-correlation (NCC). This algorithm was implemented in MATLAB. The results showed that the maximum NCC value for ROI of the source fingerprints and targets that was greater than 0.62 indicates a strong correlation or similarity.

Abstract

Design layout 1-stage pipeline is part of the 8-stage pipeline 80 Msps ADC. Layout 1-stage pipeline consists of 3 units : op-amp, switch capacitor, precision comparator with latch. Pipeline ADC works gradually and requires synchronization of digital output 8 stage by using a unit delay circuit (D-FF). Pipeline ADC requires pulse rate (clock) generator to support its work. Units OP-AMP transconductance CMOS components designed with the correct specification ADC applications with capacitive loads, with a large input impedance and minimize noise. The precision comparator has Vos (offset voltage) approximately equal to 0V. The capacitor switch designs use NMOS switch as a switch for the sampling and multiplying. In the sampling phase and multiplying processes, the ADC requires a clock pulse with a non-intersect mode (lapping). The width of non-overlapping period was adjusted to the time of constance in the sampling process and multiplying. The total number of each pulse period equal to 12.5 ns or equal to the frequency of 80MHz. In the 1-stage layout an additional correction capacitor was required to correct residual voltage. The total area of the layout 1-stage pipeline ADC is 1-bit 200 μm x 98μm.

Abstract

In the modern era, AC voltage variations are still often a problem. This variation causes power quality decrease even damage the equipment. Voltage variations that often occur are short and long duration. The variation consist of 6 types namely Interruption, Sag, Swell, Sustained-Interruption, Undervoltage, Overvoltage. To facilitate repairs when there is a voltage variation in the electric power system, it is necessary to have an identification that can detect and distinguish any interference that occurs. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzzy logic method for identifying types of voltage variations. This type of voltage variation identifier requires a disturbance simulator as a voltage source with varying values. To distinguish between short duration and long duration disturbances, is the time duration of the disturbance appears. The design of the voltage variation identification algorithm uses the sugeno fuzzy inference system with 2 inputs namely magnitude vrms and timer, and 1 output is the type of voltage interference. Moreover, prototype design using AMC1200 voltage sensor, microcontroller, and display. To validate the proposed algorithm, compared with standard measuring tools and simulations. Results show that the proposed algorithm has a very good performance with an accuration compared to the standard measuring instrument of 99.8%.

Abstract

The quality of lake or pond water is usually determined through testing of several water samples in the laboratory. This certainly takes time especially when the place of measurement is wide enough. This research designed a water quality gauge control based on the Modified Fuzzy method and equipped with pH sensors and turbidity sensors to measure the potential of Hydrogen (pH) and turbidity of water. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) on a laptop was used to control the ship manually and display the measurement results. Wireless control through Bluetooth communication was used to set up the two DC motor as the driving force of the ship. The modified Fuzzy method was used to divide water quality into 3 categories that are good, not good, and poor. The test results proved that every command on the GUI can be run by the ship and the measurement results can be displayed directly to the user. The maximum distance measurement using Bluetooth was 28 meters. The pH sensors and turbidity sensors were able to measure at any specified location point. The pH value of lake water was measured at each point varies from 6.5 to 8, while the measured turbidity values ranged from 5 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit) to 49 NTU.

Abstract

This paper presents a selective image encryption in frequency domain. At first, the image is transformed into frequency domain with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), and then DCT coefficients are scanned in zigzag, and elements of the low-frequency sub-band are extracted. Encryption is performed only on selected elements by scrambling them using 2D chaos map, namely Arnold Cat Map. Next, IDCT is applied to obtain the encrypted image. The encryption algorithm is included in lossy encryption. Experiments on both grayscale images and color images show that the images can be encrypted succesfully. Histograms of the encrypted images differ significantly from histogram of the original images, and the pixels in the encrypted images are not longer correlated.

Abstract

Acoustic transducer is a source level component in the sonar equation that is indispensable as an underwater acoustic energy source, with a certain emission pattern called beamforming. In this research, we designed the construction of a driver circuit to trigger a piezoelectric (PZT) transducer to produce an acoustic energy beam for the purpose of detecting underwater targets. The manufacture of an acoustic driver with a simple working principle has been carried out to provide transmit (TX) and receive (RX) commands. The RX module will receive the acoustic signal from the TX and the results are recorded for analysis. The mixing of the information signal with noise makes the information obtained cannot be directly verified so that a signal processing process is needed to be able to separate the information signal and noise. Calibration using a spherical target was carried out to determine the detection results and the acoustic intensity level. Signal analysis and visualization methods use Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and wavelets.

Abstract

Based on the results of the survey and drive test on Jalan Karawitan Bandung - Indonesia, the value of radio parameters is considered poorly accepted by the Standard Operator Performance Indicator (KPI) standards. The parameters observed were Reference Received Power (RSRP) -90 dBm, Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) 5 dB, and throughput 800 Mbps. This region is a potential market region including tourist attractions, businesses, offices, and housing. In addition, based on data from the Operating Support System (OSS), there is an imbalance between traffic users and cell capacity that supports network quality. In addition, there are customer complaints about the quality of the Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the office area. In this article cellseparation planning is carried out to increase the capacity and quality of LTE networks using Atoll 3.3 software. The results of planning show that an increase in network performance is the value of RSRP increased by 13.32%, SINR increased by 52.75%, and throughput increased by 236%.
