Abstract

The study was conducted to design and develop an interactive alphabet learning application software and to find out its effectiveness in enhancing letter name and sound knowledge of kindergarten learners. To achieve this goal, this study utilized sequential developmental research design, adapting the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) instructional model to design and develop the interactive learning application. The development of the instructional material was anchored on Information Processing Theory, Bottom-up Theory, Constructivist Learning Theory and Cognitive Development Theory. Having five kindergarten learners as participants, this study also utilized quasi-experimental design to find out its effectiveness when used by kindergarten learners as a supplementary tool to develop and improve the alphabet knowledge. Based on the results, the least learned letters were Ii, Ee, Nn, Pp, Bb and Dd. These could be enhanced using technology tools such as the internet and smartphone which are both common among learners. Moreover, the Interactive Application Software was found out to be appropriate to address their needs. This study concluded that has significantly improved the alphabet knowledge of the kindergarten learners. Thus, it is recommended to be used as a supplementary and intervention tool in learning the letter names and sounds. Kindergarten teachers are also recommended to devise similar learning material which addresses least learned competencies brough about by distance learning. Finally, it is suggested that future studies be conducted to investigate the effectiveness of the same materials to another set of learners.

Abstract

This study employed mixed methods approach, specifically convergent design, to determine the influence of leadership effectiveness and knowledge sharing behavior on the job performance. The data were gathered from the teachers in the public elementary schools in Region XI, Philippines. Sets of validated adapted survey tools with a five–point Likert scale and interview guide were used to gather data. The statistical tools used to treat the quantitative data were mean, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis, while in the qualitative phase, thematic analysis was employed. In the quantitative phase, results showed that the status of leadership effectiveness and knowledge sharing behavior of teachers were very high, while their status of quality of work life was rated very high also. Further, leadership effectiveness and knowledge sharing behavior significantly influenced the job performance. In terms of lived experiences of participants, as regards the job performance, five themes had emerged, which included fostering a supportive learning community, empowering educators for continuous growth and excellence, cultivating a collaborative professional community, fostering professional development through reflective practice, and promoting inclusive learning. In terms of beliefs, attitudes, and commitment as shaped by their experiences, four themes emerged: striving for excellence, inspiring purposeful practice, embracing continuous improvement, and commitment to growth. Finally, the nature of data integration revealed a merging – converging nature.

Abstract

Improper shrimp farm waste management has caused river and marine pollution in Pantai Padang Pariaman. This study analyzes the role of the Environmental Agency in sustainable waste management and identifies challenges in the process. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, document studies, and observations. Informants include officials from the Environmental Agency, Fisheries Agency, shrimp farm owners, and the local community. Data analysis is based on Iyas Yusuf’s (2014) government role theory, covering three dimensions: regulator, dynamizer, and facilitator. Findings reveal that waste management remains ineffective due to limited budgets for wastewater treatment plants (IPAL) and low awareness among farm owners regarding pollution risks. Strengthening regulations, increasing owner awareness, and enhancing collaboration between the government and the community are crucial for sustainable waste management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of information technology utilization on employee performance at the Regional Financial Agency (Badan Keuangan Daerah, BKD) of Solok Regency. The method used is quantitative with a survey approach, where data is collected through questionnaires, observations, and literature studies. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression to measure the relationship between technology utilization (X) and employee performance (Y). The results show that technology utilization significantly affects employee performance with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.985, indicating a very strong relationship, and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.971, meaning that 97.1% of employee performance is influenced by technology utilization. The obtained regression equation is Y = 2.343 + 1.247X, indicating that an increase in technology utilization by one unit will increase employee performance by 1.247 units. Based on these results, it is recommended that the local government improve technology training, update infrastructure, and develop more integrated digital systems to enhance work efficiency and accountability in regional financial management.
