Abstract

This study aims to analyze the empowerment of family education grounded in Islamic values to enhance the resilience of parents of children with special needs at the “Purworejo Kita Semua” Foundation (Yayasan Purworejo Kita Semua [YPKS]) in Purworejo Regency. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included the foundation’s teachers and administrators as well as parents of children with special needs. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study focuses on three main aspects: the conditions of parents of children with special needs, the forms of family education empowerment implemented by the foundation, and the impact of these interventions on parental resilience. The findings show that the parents’ initial conditions were marked by emotional stress, social stigma, and difficulties in parenting. The empowerment programs implemented by the foundation included an Islamic parenting program, JURASIK (Jum’at Berbagi itu Asyik / Friday Sharing is Fun) activities, Islamic spiritual activities, and lifelong healthy exercise programs integrating educational, social, and spiritual aspects. The impact of these programs is reflected in increased parental acceptance of their children’s conditions, stronger emotional resilience, greater optimism regarding their children’s future, and improved spiritual well-being. This study concludes that family education empowerment grounded in Islamic values can strengthen parental resilience through a comprehensive and sustainable approach, and it contributes practical insight into the development of supportive interventions for families of children with special needs.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of information technology has transformed students’ learning environments, requiring not only the ability to access digital information but also the capacity to regulate learning independently. However, the relationship between digital literacy and self-regulated learning in higher education remains insufficiently examined, particularly among Library and Information Science students. This study aims to identify the levels of digital literacy and self-regulated learning and to examine the effect of digital literacy on self-regulated learning among students of the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a population of 259 students, from which 72 respondents were selected through stratified proportional sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on validated indicators and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings show that both digital literacy and self-regulated learning are at a high level. The regression results indicate that digital literacy has a positive and statistically significant effect on self-regulated learning (Y = 11.107 + 0.670X; p < .05), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.378, indicating that digital literacy explains 37.8% of the variance in self-regulated learning. These findings demonstrate that digital literacy plays an important role in enhancing students’ ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning processes. This study contributes to the literature on digital learning and information science by providing empirical evidence of the relationship between digital literacy and self-regulated learning. Practically, the findings imply that strengthening digital literacy through curriculum integration and instructional strategies is essential to support autonomous learning and improve the quality of higher education.

Abstract

Although cooperatives as instruments of people-centered economics have received increasing scholarly attention, research specifically examining sub-district government strategies for accelerating the implementation of the Merah Putih Cooperative remains limited. This study aims to analyze the strategies of the sub-district government in accelerating the implementation of the Merah Putih Cooperative in Balai Gadang Sub-district, Padang City, based on Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques, while data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings indicate that the strategies implemented were relatively effective and progressive, as reflected in strategy formulation based on local potential and implementation through the development of business units, including honeybee production (galo-galo), the provision of basic necessities, and the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, implementation still faces challenges related to regulatory dynamics, capital constraints, and the absence of a measurable performance system. This study concludes that sub-district government strategies play a crucial role in accelerating cooperative implementation. The study contributes to policy implementation and local economic development literature by highlighting the importance of locally grounded strategies, strengthened performance systems, and policy support to ensure the sustainability of the Merah Putih Cooperative program.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the gap between the high intensity of social media use and the suboptimal level of students’ digital literacy, particularly in responding to BookTok content on TikTok, which is characterized by brevity, emotional appeal, and algorithm-driven exposure. This study aims to examine and describe the influence of BookTok content access intensity on the digital literacy of students in the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative approach with an associative method was employed. The population consisted of 100 students from the 2022 cohort, from which 55 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through normality and linearity tests, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and coefficient of determination using SPSS. The findings reveal that the intensity of accessing BookTok content has a significant effect on students’ digital literacy (p < .05), with a correlation coefficient of 0.713, indicating a strong relationship. The coefficient of determination of 0.508 shows that 50.8% of the variance in digital literacy is explained by BookTok access intensity, while the remaining 49.2% is influenced by other factors. Overall, both access intensity and digital literacy were categorized as good. These findings indicate that higher intensity of BookTok content access corresponds to higher levels of digital literacy among students. This study contributes to the literature on digital literacy and social media-based learning by demonstrating the role of algorithm-driven book-related content in shaping students’ digital competencies. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of critical and strategic engagement with social media and support the integration of social media-based digital literacy development within higher education contexts.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the gap between the high intensity of digital technology use and the relatively limited critical evaluation skills of information sources among university students. Although students are often considered digital natives, they may still experience difficulties in assessing the credibility, accuracy, and reliability of information, particularly among students in the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study aims to describe students’ levels of digital literacy, their ability to evaluate information sources, and the relationship between these two aspects. A quantitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. The population consisted of 364 active students from the 2022–2025 cohorts, from which 85 respondents were selected using stratified random sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of 40 statements and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that students’ digital literacy was categorized as good, with a mean score of 4.00; information synthesis obtained the highest score, whereas information searching skills obtained the lowest score. Students’ ability to evaluate information sources was also categorized as good, with a mean score of 4.07; relevance was the highest-rated indicator, while authority was the lowest. These findings suggest that students generally demonstrate adequate digital literacy and information evaluation skills, although weaknesses remain in information searching techniques and in assessing the authority and purpose of sources. This study contributes to the literature on digital literacy and information literacy by providing empirical insight into the competencies of prospective information professionals. Practically, the findings imply the need to strengthen critical literacy education, develop curricula focused on information evaluation, and provide continuous training to enhance students’ capacity to assess digital information effectively. Abstract

Digital transformation in guidance and counseling (GC) services has emerged as a strategic response to the demands of 21st-century education, particularly in supporting the development of the Pancasila Student Profile. However, the integration of digital GC services with character development remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze the forms of digital transformation in GC services and examine their implications for the six dimensions of student character. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was employed by systematically identifying, selecting, and analyzing relevant scholarly publications based on predetermined inclusion criteria. The data were synthesized thematically to identify patterns of implementation, contributions, and challenges in digital GC services. The findings reveal that digital GC services, including cyber counseling, Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital assessment tools, and interactive media, support students’ independence, critical thinking, creativity, and global diversity awareness through flexible access, reflective activities, and interactive engagement. However, the integration of spiritual, moral, and social collaborative values, particularly religiosity and gotong royong, remains limited. The main challenges include infrastructure disparities, limited digital competence among counselors, and concerns related to data security and privacy. This study concludes that digital transformation in GC services plays an important role in supporting student character development but requires a more integrative, value-based approach. The study contributes to the literature by proposing an integrative digital GC model that emphasizes value integration, data-driven personalization, and ethical, secure practices, while highlighting the need to strengthen counselor roles and supportive institutional policies.

Abstract

Low levels of work engagement in the government sector may reduce the quality of public services, making it important to identify factors that can strengthen employee engagement. Meaningful work is one factor assumed to influence work engagement. This study aims to determine the effect of meaningful work on work engagement among employees of the Regional Office of Ministry X in West Sumatra Province. A quantitative causal approach was employed using simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 106 employees selected through probability sampling. Data were collected using the Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). The findings indicate that meaningful work has a significant effect on work engagement (p < .05), with a regression coefficient of 0.817. The R value of 0.455 indicates a moderate relationship, while the R² value of 0.207 shows that meaningful work contributes 20.7% to work engagement. These findings suggest that higher levels of meaningful work are associated with higher levels of employee work engagement. This study contributes to the literature on organizational behavior in the public sector by providing empirical evidence of the role of meaningful work in strengthening work engagement. Practically, the findings imply that bureaucratic institutions should strengthen employees’ sense of meaning in their work to enhance engagement and support the improvement of public service quality.
