Abstract

Although the maritime transport sector plays a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy, empirical research examining the determinants of shipping profitability amid recent regulatory and market shifts remains limited. This study aims to analyze and empirically test the effects of liquidity, proxied by the Current Ratio; leverage, proxied by the Debt-to-Equity Ratio; Good Corporate Governance, proxied by the proportion of independent commissioners; and firm size on the financial performance of maritime transport issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period, measured by Return on Assets. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was employed. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 11 shipping companies and 55 balanced panel observations. Data were obtained from audited annual financial reports and analyzed using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) in EViews. The findings indicate that liquidity has a positive and significant effect on Return on Assets, whereas leverage has a significant negative effect. Conversely, Good Corporate Governance and firm size do not have significant effects on profitability. These findings suggest that financial performance in the capital-intensive maritime transport sector is primarily determined by working capital efficiency and debt control rather than board composition or scale expansion. This study contributes to the development of agency theory and signaling theory by demonstrating context-specific resource constraints in emerging maritime markets. The findings provide practical implications for shipping management, creditors, and regulators by emphasizing the importance of rigorous short-term liquidity management and optimal leverage thresholds to sustain long-term maritime financial performance.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning is an essential competency that supports students’ academic success in the digital era. However, students’ learning independence is influenced by external factors, including the use of digital teaching modules, the availability of school facilities, and parental support. This study aims to examine the influence of digital teaching modules, school facilities, and parental support on the self-regulated learning of Grade X students at MAN 2 Kota Kediri, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed. The population consisted of 504 Grade X students, and 223 respondents were selected using random sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires that met validity and reliability requirements and were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The findings indicate that digital teaching modules have a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning, with a regression coefficient of 0.565 and a significance value of 0.000. School facilities also have a positive and significant effect, with a regression coefficient of 0.563, while parental support has a positive and significant effect, with a regression coefficient of 0.262. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence self-regulated learning, as indicated by an F-value of 157.444 and a significance value of 0.000. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.683 indicates that 68.3% of the variance in students’ self-regulated learning can be explained by digital teaching modules, school facilities, and parental support. This study concludes that strengthening students’ self-regulated learning requires integrated support through the optimization of digital learning technologies, adequate school facilities, and active parental involvement. The findings contribute to the literature on technology-supported learning independence and provide practical implications for schools and families in developing effective strategies to foster students’ self-regulated learning.

Abstract

Employee placement in public institutions has received increasing scholarly attention; however, studies focusing on local personnel agencies remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of employee placement on job satisfaction among State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the Regional Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency of Padang City. A quantitative approach was employed using an associative survey design, involving 30 respondents selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination with SPSS. The findings indicate that employee placement has a positive and significant effect on ASN job satisfaction, as shown by a t-count of 7.849 and a significance value of 0.000. The R Square value of 0.688 indicates that employee placement explains 68.8% of the variance in job satisfaction, while the remaining 31.2% is influenced by other factors. These findings demonstrate that appropriate employee placement is a crucial factor in improving ASN job satisfaction. Theoretically, this study contributes to public human resource management literature, particularly in relation to person–job fit and merit-based placement. Practically, the findings imply the need to strengthen competency-based placement policies to support more effective, fair, and performance-oriented personnel management in local government institutions.

Abstract

Urban nature-based tourism destinations face increasing environmental pressures, particularly Taman Wisata Alam Mangrove PIK in North Jakarta, which serves conservation, educational, and recreational functions. In mangrove ecosystem tourism, green tourism practices, effective environmental communication, and tourists’ green lifestyles are essential for fostering consistent pro-environmental behaviour. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of Green Tourism Practice, Green Communication, and Green Lifestyle on tourists’ Pro-Environmental Behaviour. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. Primary data were collected through a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 100 domestic tourists aged at least 17 years who had visited Taman Wisata Alam Mangrove PIK within the previous 12 months. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, correlation coefficient analysis, and coefficient of determination analysis with SPSS 25. The findings show that Green Tourism Practice has a positive and significant effect on Pro-Environmental Behaviour, with t = 6.068, Sig. = 0.000, and β = 0.400. Green Communication also has a positive and significant effect, with t = 6.909, Sig. = 0.000, and β = 0.454, making it the most dominant variable in the model. Green Lifestyle has a positive and significant effect, with t = 6.403, Sig. = 0.000, and β = 0.422. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence Pro-Environmental Behaviour, with F = 45.341, Sig. = 0.000, and R² = 0.586. These findings demonstrate that strengthening green tourism practices, environmental communication, and tourists’ green lifestyles can enhance pro-environmental behaviour in urban mangrove tourism destinations. This study contributes to sustainable tourism literature by providing empirical evidence on behavioural determinants in an urban conservation-based tourism context and offers practical implications for destination managers in designing more effective environmental education, communication, and visitor-engagement strategies.

Abstract

The post-revitalization transformation of the National Museum of Indonesia has been marked by the adoption of Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, virtual tours, the Immersive Room, digital collections, and various digital platforms; however, the extent to which these technologies influence tourists’ revisit intention requires further empirical examination. This study aims to analyze the influence of interactive technology and digital innovation on tourists’ revisit intention at the National Museum of Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 100 respondents who had visited the National Museum of Indonesia during the 2024–2025 period and were interested in revisiting or had already made a return visit in 2026. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 through validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis. The findings indicate that interactive technology has a positive regression coefficient of 0.142 but does not exert a significant partial effect on revisit intention (t = 1.207; p = 0.231). In contrast, digital innovation has a positive and significant partial effect (β = 0.487; t = 3.298; p = 0.001), indicating that it is a stronger predictor of tourists’ revisit intention. Simultaneously, interactive technology and digital innovation have a significant effect on revisit intention (F = 29.573; p < 0.001), with an R² value of 0.379, explaining 37.9% of the variance in revisit intention. This study concludes that digital innovation is a more dominant factor in encouraging tourists to revisit the National Museum of Indonesia. The findings contribute to cultural tourism and museum management studies by highlighting the strategic role of digital innovation in strengthening tourist experience and post-visit behavioral intention.

Abstract

Cafe Cali Jakarta is a luxury rooftop bar operating under The Orient Jakarta in the premium Sudirman district of Central Jakarta; therefore, strategic menu portfolio management is essential for sustaining profitability amid high operational overhead and increasingly competitive rooftop venue dynamics. This study aims to analyze the popularity performance and contribution margin of each menu item, classify the items within the Menu Engineering matrix, and formulate data-driven menu optimization strategies. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative analysis. Sales data from January to October 2025, covering 36 active menu items across eight categories, were analyzed using the Menu Engineering method developed by Kasavana and Smith (1982). Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews with Dian Nugraha Firdaus as the key informant, Rangga Oktafidiawan as the main informant, and Evelina Kusumawardhani as an additional informant, supported by field observation for data triangulation. The findings indicate that, of the 36 menu items analyzed, 12 items (33.3%) were classified as Stars, 13 items (36.1%) as Plow Horses, seven items (19.4%) as Puzzles, and four items (11.1%) as Dogs. The Stars quadrant contributed 43.5% of the total portfolio contribution margin, indicating its central role in supporting menu profitability. Based on this classification, the recommended strategies include maintaining the quality of Stars while applying incremental price increases, improving Plow Horses margins through bundling and gradual repricing, increasing Puzzles visibility through structured suggestive selling and social media campaigns, and conducting contextual per-item evaluations for Dogs using a substitution-first approach. This study concludes that Menu Engineering provides a practical analytical basis for optimizing menu profitability and strategic decision-making in premium food and beverage venues. Its contribution lies in integrating quantitative menu performance analysis with qualitative managerial insights to support evidence-based menu optimization in a competitive rooftop bar context.

Abstract

Pulau Peucang, located within Ujung Kulon National Park, is a nature-based tourism destination with tourism attraction potential based on the 4A concept, namely attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services. This study aims to analyze the effect of 4A-based tourism attraction dimensions on tourists’ intention to visit Pulau Peucang, Ujung Kulon. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 106 respondents consisting of tourists who had visited or were currently visiting Pulau Peucang and were selected using accidental sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 27. Before hypothesis testing, classical assumption tests were conducted, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests. The findings indicate that, simultaneously, attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services do not have a significant effect on tourists’ visit intention (p = 0.165). Partially, attraction, accessibility, and amenities do not significantly influence visit intention, whereas ancillary services have a significant effect (p = 0.043). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.062) shows that the model explains only 6.2% of the variance in visit intention, while 93.8% is influenced by factors outside the model. This study concludes that, among the four dimensions of the 4A concept, only ancillary services significantly influence tourists’ intention to visit Pulau Peucang. The findings contribute to nature-based tourism management by highlighting the strategic importance of supporting services and institutional facilities in strengthening tourists’ visit intention.

Abstract

Although the distribution of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in English language textbooks has received increasing scholarly attention, research specifically examining the cognitive profile of evaluation instruments across six language skills and Genre-Based Approach (GBA) stages in Merdeka Curriculum senior high school textbooks remains limited. This study aims to analyze the distribution of HOTS and Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) in the Grade XI English textbook English for Change and identify gaps in its alignment with 21st-century assessment needs. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed, involving 211 evaluation instruments selected through total sampling across five units and six language skills. Data were collected using a structured coding sheet and analyzed through descriptive quantitative frequency analysis, followed by descriptive interpretive content analysis. The findings indicate that HOTS accounts for 58.8% of the total evaluation instruments, with Creating (C6) as the most dominant cognitive level (25.6%) and Understanding (C2) as the least represented (6.6%). Writing (77.1%) and Presenting (76.7%) show the highest HOTS proportions, whereas Listening remains LOTS-dominant (52.8%), and all End-of-Unit Reflection instruments are entirely LOTS-based (100%). These findings suggest a productively asymmetric distribution of HOTS that supports learning quality while revealing the need for stronger cognitive scaffolding in critical listening, analytical viewing, and evaluative reflection. Theoretically, this study contributes to the application of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy in cross-skill textbook analysis and expands understanding of cognitive scaffolding within GBA-based instructional design. Practically, it provides a replicable needs-analysis framework and recommends that textbook developers, teachers, and policymakers strengthen evaluation instruments to better support 21st-century assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum. This study also opens opportunities for comparative research across Merdeka Curriculum English textbooks in Indonesia.
