Background: The hormonal contraceptive DMPA (Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) is an injectable contraceptive method widely used by women of childbearing age because it is practical and effective in preventing pregnancy. However, prolonged use of DMPA can cause side effects, one of which is secondary amenorrhea. Secondary amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation for three consecutive months or more in women who previously had normal menstruation. The occurrence of secondary amenorrhea often causes anxiety in DMPA users, so research is needed regarding the relationship between DMPA use and the occurrence of secondary amenorrhea. Method: This study employed an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 30 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments used were observation sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with the help of SPSS. Results: The majority of respondents (18 respondents (60.0%) used DMPA hormonal contraception for more than 1 year. Nineteen respondents (63.3%) experienced secondary amenorrhea. The Chi-Square test results showed a p-value of 0.002 (<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between DMPA hormonal contraception use and the incidence of secondary amenorrhea in the Popayato Barat Community Health Center UPTD area. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the use of DMPA hormonal contraception and the incidence of secondary amenorrhea in the Popayato Barat Community Health Center UPTD area.

Hypertension during pregnancy remains a global health issue that has a significant impact on both mothers and infants. One of the most common forms is preeclampsia. Hypertension can be managed through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Benson relaxation is a non-pharmacological therapy that leverages the patient’s belief in achieving a higher state of health and well-being. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Benson relaxation on blood pressure control in pregnant women at the Dengilo Pohuwato Community Health Center in Gorontalo. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test approach for both the intervention and control groups. The study population consisted of 30 pregnant women in their second trimester, comprising 15 participants in the intervention group and 15 in the control group. A total sampling technique was used. Data were collected using a questionnaire, blood pressure measurement tools (a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope), and an observation sheet for blood pressure measurements. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk test to assess data normality, followed by a Paired Sample t-test. A p-value of 0.001 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating that Benson relaxation has an effect on blood pressure control in pregnant women.

Labor pain is one of the most severe pains experienced by maternity mothers and can cause anxiety, fear, and stress that has the potential to slow down the labor process. The Lamaze technique is a non-pharmacological method that emphasizes focused breathing regulation and conscious relaxation to control pain. This study aims to determine the effect of the Lamaze technique on pain intensity and duration during the active phase I in maternity mothers at the Pulubala Gorontalo Health Center. The research design used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments were in the form of a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) observation sheet and an old observation sheet at period I. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a decrease in severe pain from 63% to 10% and an increase in mild pain from 13% to 37%. The length of slow labor decreased from 53% to 10% and there was a rapid labor of 20%. The Wilcoxon test resulted in a p = 0.000 value in both variables, which means that there was a significant difference before and after the intervention. The conclusion of this study is that the Lamaze technique is effective in reducing pain intensity and accelerating the active phase I, so it can be recommended as a non-pharmacological intervention in maternity care.

Exclusive breastfeeding failure among working mothers represents a multifactorial public health concern that warrants comprehensive investigation. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge level, family support, and workload with exclusive breastfeeding failure among working mothers in the working area of PKM Lolak, Sorong Regency. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was applied to 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test and Spearman's rho correlation at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results demonstrated that all independent variables were significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding failure, each yielding p = 0.000 with a correlation coefficient of 0.882, indicating a very strong relationship. Mothers with good knowledge, adequate family support, and light workload exclusively breastfed their infants without exception, whereas those with opposing conditions all failed. It is concluded that these three factors are consistently and strongly associated with exclusive breastfeeding practices among working mothers, necessitating integrated interventions that simultaneously address educational aspects, family role reinforcement, and maternal workload reduction.

Immunization is an effective disease prevention effort for infants, including the Pentavalent (Penta Bio) vaccine and Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) 1 which are part of the national immunization program. Despite the increase in national immunization coverage, some children in remote areas such as Haruai District, Tabalong Regency, are still at risk of getting immunizations late due to low parental compliance, which is suspected to be influenced by family support. This study aims to analyze the influence of family support on parental compliance in the timely implementation of Penta Bio and PCV 1 immunizations at Haruai Health Centers. The study design used a cross-sectional quantitative approach with a total sampling technique of 25 respondents of infant parents, through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 80% of respondents had good family support and were classified as compliant with the immunization schedule, while all respondents with less support were recorded as non-compliant. The statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000 for both types of vaccines, which proves the existence of a meaningful relationship between family support and timely adherence. It was concluded that family support is the main determining factor for compliance with Penta Bio and PCV 1 immunizations. It is recommended that health workers strengthen family-based education to reduce the rate of non-compliance in areas with limited access to health services.

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension ≥140/90 mmHg and proteinuria occurring after 20 weeks of gestation, which remains a leading cause of maternal mortality in Indonesia and globally. This study aimed to analyze the influence of maternal age on the incidence of mild preeclampsia at UPT RSUD Kuala Kurun. A quantitative observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was employed, involving 30 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results demonstrated that maternal age had a statistically significant influence on mild preeclampsia incidence (Pearson Chi-Square = 16.708; p = 0.000), with a strong correlation coefficient (Pearson's R = 0.664). Parity was also found to significantly influence preeclampsia incidence (p = 0.011), whereas gestational age showed no significant effect (p = 0.549). Mothers aged >35 years represented the highest-risk group, with all three respondents in that category having a history of preeclampsia. These findings imply that age-based antenatal risk screening should be prioritized to enable early detection and prevention of preeclampsia progression in district-level healthcare facilities.

The national Family Planning Program positions implant contraception as a priority method within the Long-Term Contraceptive Method category; however, its utilization at the primary health care level remains substantially below the established national target. This study aimed to identify factors influencing the use of implant contraception among couples of reproductive age in the working area of Tinumbal Community Health Center. A quantitative descriptive-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was applied to 30 respondents selected through total sampling. The variables examined included education, knowledge, and husband's support as independent variables, and implant contraceptive use as the dependent variable. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with SPSS version 26. The results revealed that a single principal component was formed with an eigenvalue of 3.549, explaining 88.722% of the total data variance. Knowledge emerged as the most dominant factor with an extraction value of 0.946, followed by husband's support at 0.945, and education at 0.714. It is concluded that these three factors synergistically influence the decision to use implant contraception; Therefore, family planning promotion programs should be designed holistically, targeting both the enhancement of acceptor knowledge and the strengthening of spousal involvement.

The preschool period represents a critical golden age for the development of children’s language abilities, during which parenting style serves as the closest environmental factor influencing the quality of children’s communication. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the parenting styles of students’ parents and language development among preschool children at TK Negeri Dharma Santi. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a cross-sectional framework, involving 45 children aged 4.5–5.6 years selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a parenting style questionnaire and a language development assessment sheet, then analyzed using the chi-square test and Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients. The results showed that the democratic parenting style was the most commonly applied (48.9%) and was associated with language achievement ranging from appropriate to highly appropriate, whereas all children exposed to authoritarian parenting were categorized as having inadequate language development. Statistical analysis demonstrated a significant relationship (Sig. = 0.000) with moderate to strong correlation strength (Pearson = 0.422; Spearman = 0.505). These findings confirm that more democratic parenting is associated with more optimal language development. It is concluded that parenting style is significantly related to preschool children’s language achievement; therefore, responsive and communicative parenting practices should continue to be encouraged to optimize children’s language abilities from an early age.

Uncontrolled population growth underscores the importance of family planning programs, one of which involves the use of monthly injectable contraceptives containing a combination of estrogen and progesterone hormones. Despite their effectiveness, this method may produce side effects that vary depending on the duration of use. This study aimed to identify side effects in new acceptors, identify side effects in long-term acceptors, and analyze differences in the incidence of side effects between new and long-term acceptors of monthly injectable contraceptives at Puskesdes Lamunti A1. A quantitative approach with a comparative study design was employed. The sample consisted of 30 respondents divided equally into 15 new and 15 long-term acceptors, selected using total sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level. Results showed that 80.0% of new acceptors experienced side effects, with weight change as the predominant complaint (80.0%). In contrast, 66.7% of long-term acceptors reported no side effects, though those who did tended to experience menstrual disturbances and pain. Statistical tests yielded p = 0.010 for the incidence of side effects and p = 0.045 for the type of side effects, both statistically significant. It is concluded that acceptor status significantly influences the incidence and type of side effects of monthly injectable contraceptives. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for healthcare providers in delivering more personalized contraceptive counseling based on usage status.
