Abstract

The Asian clam (Corbicula javanica) is a benthic filter-feeding bivalve widely found in Indonesian waters, playing an important role both as a food source and as a bioindicator of aquatic environmental quality due to its ability to accumulate minerals and heavy metals. Despite its ecological and socio-economic importance, scientific data on its nutritional composition in Indonesia remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the proximate composition of C. javanica collected from Gege Waters, Waihali Village, East Flores Regency, to provide baseline information on its nutritional value and ecological relevance. Sampling was conducted purposively in July 2025, and proximate analysis was performed in the laboratory following standardized methods: moisture by gravimetry, ash by incineration, protein by Kjeldahl, fat by Soxhlet extraction, and carbohydrate by difference. The results showed that C. javanica contained high moisture (83.13%), protein (51.27%), ash (12.56%), moderate carbohydrate (28.05%), and low fat (8.13%). These findings confirm its potential as a high-quality protein and mineral source while emphasizing its ecological role as a bioindicator species. In conclusion, this research fills the knowledge gap on the nutritional profile of C. javanica in Indonesian waters, supports its safe utilization for food security, and strengthens its application in sustainable fisheries and environmental monitoring.

Abstract

Public sector organizations are currently often considered by the public as less than optimal, less productive, low quality of performance, and a source of waste of funds. The purpose of the research is to find out and measure financial performance using the Value for money method at the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2023. This study uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods (Mixed Research), with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained is systematically analyzed to understand the extent to which the principle of Value for money is applied in the budget management of the electricity management program. The results of the study show that the Economic Ratio of the Electricity Management Program at the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2023 is relatively economical, with a ratio achievement of 124%, which reflects economical budget management and in accordance with the principle of value for money. However, the efficiency ratio shows that most of the activities in the program are still classified as inefficient, with many activities having an efficiency achievement of 0%, indicating that the use of the budget is not optimal in producing the expected output.

Abstract

This research was conducted because there has been no study on the analysis of lexical meaning and the process of foreign word absorption in the book "Obat Dungu Resep Akal Sehat: Filsafat untuk Republik Kuat" by Rocky Gerung. In addition, this study contributes to education by helping society understand the meaning of terms considered complex and assisting readers in comprehending the use of terms in their intended context. This research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques including thoroughly reading the book, inventorying data, and classifying it according to the relevant theory. The analysis is carried out by categorizing loanwords into adoption, adaptation, translation, or creation, and explaining their lexical meanings. The findings indicate that there are three loanwords through adoption (forum, formal, gender), three words through adaptation (konsensus, konstituen, koheren), three terms through translation (Kampanye Hitam, Politik Relawan, Undang-Undang Khusus), and three terms created by Rocky Gerung (konstanta-konstanta sosio-kultural, post-praetorian, surplus arogansi). These findings highlight the combination of foreign language influence and creativity in enriching the Indonesian vocabulary.

Abstract

The increasing global influence of China and its economic rise have made Mandarin Chinese a valuable skill for international communication and job opportunities, especially in countries like Indonesia that maintain close economic ties with China. The research aims to understand the dominant types of motivation and to identify common obstacles students encounter in acquiring the language. A mixed-method approach was used, combining quantitative descriptive methods through questionnaires distributed to 69 first- and second-year students, and qualitative methods through interviews with 10 students. The findings reveal that most students are instrumentally motivated, driven by the desire for better employment prospects and educational advancement, rather than integrative factors such as cultural interest or native-like fluency. Major learning difficulties include pronunciation (particularly tones and retroflex consonants), grammar, and the memorization and writing of Chinese characters (hanzi), largely due to interference from the Indonesian language and limited exposure to Mandarin in their environment. Despite these challenges, students exhibit a generally positive learning attitude, especially in classroom participation. This study concludes that greater support in pronunciation, grammar instruction, and character acquisition is necessary, and suggests that future research explore broader contexts and more advanced student groups.
