Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study investigates the role of Instagram as a digital communication tool in promoting the deradicalization programs run by Indonesia’s National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT). With terrorism increasingly adopting online platforms for ideological propagation and recruitment, counter-terrorism efforts must equally adapt to the digital landscape. Instagram, as one of the most popular platforms among young Indonesians, provides BNPT a space to craft counternarratives, foster civic engagement, and disseminate peaceful messages. This study employs qualitative content analysis to examine how BNPT utilizes Instagram strategically in terms of content type, engagement tactics, and messaging. The research seeks to understand the intersection between communication strategy and national security through visual digital media. Findings are expected to contribute to the literature on digital counterterrorism communication and inform policy on media strategies in preventing radicalization. Keywords: BNPT, Instagram, Deradicalization, Social Media, Terrorism ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Instagram sebagai alat komunikasi digital dalam mempromosikan program deradikalisasi yang dijalankan oleh Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Terorisme (BNPT) di Indonesia. Dalam konteks di mana kelompok teroris semakin memanfaatkan platform daring untuk penyebaran ideologi dan rekrutmen, upaya kontra-terorisme juga harus beradaptasi dengan lanskap digital. Instagram, sebagai salah satu platform paling populer di kalangan generasi muda Indonesia, memberikan ruang bagi BNPT untuk membangun kontra-narasi, mendorong partisipasi publik, serta menyebarkan pesan damai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif untuk mengkaji bagaimana BNPT memanfaatkan Instagram secara strategis dari segi jenis konten, taktik keterlibatan audiens, dan pesan yang disampaikan. Penelitian ini berusaha memahami keterkaitan antara strategi komunikasi dan keamanan nasional melalui media digital visual. Hasilnya diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada literatur komunikasi kontra-terorisme digital dan memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan strategis. Abstract

This study examines moral reasoning and discourse fragmentation within the YouTube comment section of a viral video detailing a case of sexual violence involving a religious authority figure in Indonesia. Employing a Mixed Methods Social Network Analysis (MMSNA) approach, we analyzed 6,018 comments from 5,484 users to map the network structure, identify communicative communities, and assess emotional polarization via sentiment analysis. Findings reveal a highly fragmented and sparse network with low user interactivity, dominated by isolated, small-scale communities. Despite this structural fragmentation, sentiment analysis showed a predominance of neutral expressions (76.9%), with limited emotional polarization between the six main thematic communities identified. These communities function as distinct "affective micro-publics," articulating responses through specific discursive roles: moral-religious condemnation, emotional support, social reflection, fear of stigma, digital activism, and social ethics critique. The study concludes that the digital discourse operates not as a unified deliberative space but as a constellation of value-aligned clusters, where morality and empathy, rather than rational debate, mediate public participation. This underscores the role of platform architecture in fostering affective enclaves around sensitive socio-religious issues.

Abstract

The rapid dominance of TikTok among Generation Z students has shifted consumption patterns, positioning it as a primary source of creative reference. This phenomenon poses a dilemma between mere imitation and genuine originality in the academic creative process. This study aims to analyze the correlation between using TikTok as a content reference medium and the creativity of Digital Communication and Media students at IPB Vocational School. A quantitative correlational survey approach was employed with a sample of 77 active students determined by random sampling. Data analysis utilized the Spearman correlation technique due to non-normal distribution, revealing a significant and moderately strong positive correlation between the two variables (r = 0.562, p = 0.001). This positive correlation is primarily driven by the students' high Creative Self-Efficacy (CSE) and the effective use of TikTok to boost Fluency and Flexibility dimensions. Creativity is actualized when students engage in Redefinition by recontextualizing viral trends, confirming that the platform acts as a constructive creative tool when supported by a strong internal drive.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis performa dan pola interaktivitas konten UMKM kuliner pada kanal YouTube Tribun Jabar melalui pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Tiga belas video UMKM dianalisis melalui observasi konten, penelusuran interaksi audiens, dan wawancara dengan empat informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas konten dipengaruhi oleh kekuatan narasi, kualitas visual dan teknis, serta kesesuaiannya dengan algoritma YouTube. Storytelling humanis dan visual proses produksi makanan terbukti meningkatkan engagement, sementara interaktivitas audiens masih didominasi user-to-content dan minim diskusi publik. Faktor algoritma dan frekuensi unggahan yang tidak konsisten membatasi visibilitas konten. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi narasi, peningkatan kualitas produksi, konsistensi publikasi, dan pemahaman algoritma diperlukan agar konten UMKM mampu menjangkau audiens lebih luas.

Abstract

The development of social media has changed communication patterns and social interactions among university students, particularly through interactive visual features such as Instagram Story. This feature allows users to share temporary content and encourages responses and engagement in computer-mediated communication. High intensity of Instagram Story usage is assumed to increase opportunities for social interaction among users. This study aims to examine the relationship between the intensity of Instagram Story usage and social interaction among students of the Digital Communication and Media Program, Vocational School, IPB University. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational survey design. The population consisted of 319 active students from the 60th cohort, with 77 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The intensity of Instagram Story usage was measured through frequency, duration, and attention, while social interaction was assessed using indicators of responsiveness, engagement, and continuity of interaction. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank correlation test due to non-normal data distribution. The results show a positive relationship with a moderate level of strength between Instagram Story usage intensity and students’ social interaction (r = 0.458; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that higher intensity of Instagram Story usage is associated with increased social interaction. This study supports Social Information Processing Theory, which explains that social interaction in digital communication develops through continuous message exchanges over time.

Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial telah mengubah strategi pemasaran dengan memanfaatkan konten digital yang menghibur dan interaktif. Salah satu bentuk strategi tersebut adalah penggunaan konten skit, yaitu video singkat dan menghibur yang bertujuan menarik perhatian dan membangun kedekatan emosional dengan audiens. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan konten skit Instagram TieByMin terhadap minat pembelian produk hijab di kalangan muslimah gen Z di Kota Bogor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik survei melalui kuesioner tertutup menggunakan skala Likert. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan rumus populasi tak terhingga dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan margin of error 10%, sehingga diperoleh 96 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS untuk menguji validitas, reliabilitas, serta hubungan antara variabel konten skit terhadap minat pembelian. Hasil dari uji korelasi Spearman Rank menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.820, artinya konten skit memiliki hubungan positif yang kuat terhadap minat beli produk hijab di kalangan Muslimah gen Z di Kota Bogor.

Abstract

Media sosial telah menjadi komponen penting dalam kehidupan generasi muda, termasuk siswa sekolah menengah. TikTok adalah platform populer di kalangan remaja yang tidak hanya digunakan untuk menghibur tetapi juga memengaruhi cara mereka berpikir dan berperilaku. Fenomena ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa mulai beralih dari pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional ke arah konten yang lebih interaktif dan visual. Dalam pembelajaran Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn), yang berperan penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan nasionalisme siswa, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana guru PPKn menggunakan TikTok sebagai media untuk menanamkan nasionalisme pada siswa di kelas X SMKN 5 Pekanbaru. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai bentuk konten yang digunakan, respon siswa terhadap konten tersebut, serta sejauh mana TikTok berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan sikap nasionalisme. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengadaptasi media sosial sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

In film promotion, actors are required to maintain their public image by paying attention to ethics and the words they use. This study examines netizens’ reception on social media X toward Abidzar’s statement during the promotion of the film adaptation A Business Proposal, using a qualitative method with a netnographic approach. The analysis focuses on netizen comments from four different menfess accounts, applying Stuart Hall’s reception theory consisting of dominant hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional readings. The findings reveal diverse responses, with oppositional positions being the most dominant, reflected in harsh criticism and the emergence of Cancel culture as a form of digital social sanction. This study highlights social media X as an active arena of meaning negotiation, where audience reception is shaped by personal, social, and cultural experiences.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of framing in news reports on the online media Tempo.co and Detik.com, using the framing model theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky. Framing in news reports can be seen in how journalists strategize in compiling, narrating, writing, and emphasizing facts. Through the framing analysis by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky, a fact can be categorized through framing using four main structures: Syntax, Script, Thematic, and Rhetorical. This study was conducted to examine the framing of news coverage regarding the pig head terror case targeting Tempo journalists, as reported by the online media outlets Tempo.co and Detik.com. The purpose of this study is to understand how these media outlets framed the terror case. The research approach used is qualitative, employing the framing analysis method developed by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky. The data used for this study is primary data obtained through non-participant observation techniques from the online news portals Tempo.co and Detik.com. The results of the study show that there are differences in the framing of news by the online media Tempo.co and Detik.com, particularly in the amount of news coverage, differences in perspective, and the use of visual elements or photos in the presentation of news. Abstract

This study examines the role of TikTok social media as a means of preserving the Tari Persembahan, one of the traditional dances of Melayu Riau, in building local cultural identity among students at SMK Hasanah Pekanbaru. The background of this study is based on the increasing use of TikTok among teenagers, which not only functions as a medium of entertainment but also as a space for cultural expression and creative participation among the younger generation. This phenomenon opens up strategic opportunities for the use of digital media in efforts to preserve traditional arts and culture, which are beginning to experience a decline in interest. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The research informants consisted of female students who were active in traditional dance extracurricular activities and arts and culture teachers who acted as mentors. The data was analyzed thematically to identify patterns of perception, motivation, involvement, and challenges in the use of TikTok as a medium for cultural preservation. The results show that TikTok is able to increase students' interest and involvement in the Tari Persembahan through the presentation of visual content that is attractive, easily accessible, and relevant to the daily lives of teenagers. Although student involvement in content production is still limited, high enthusiasm is evident when students are directly involved in making dance videos. The role of teachers has proven to be crucial in guiding the technical aspects of dance while instilling the cultural values contained in each movement. This study concludes that the structured use of TikTok in extracurricular cultural arts activities can be an adaptive cultural preservation strategy in the digital age. These findings emphasize the importance of digital literacy and educator guidance in ensuring that social media not only functions as entertainment but also as a means of strengthening the cultural identity of the younger generation.
