<![CDATA[The objective to find out the effect of using context clues in in enhancing students vocabulary building through reading text at SMPN 52 Makassar.The writer used instrument; it is a reading and vocabulary test that given (pre-test and post-test). The pre-test was used to find out data about the recognition and understanding of students’ vocabulary before implementing the context clues strategy and the post-test was carried out to find out data about the introduction and understanding of students' vocabulary after implementing the context clues strategy. The method used in this study is a pre-experiment using one class. The population in this study were all students of class VIII-DSMPN 52 Makassar, totally 28 students, so the writer took a purposive sampling technique. In addition, to analyse the data, writer used SPSS 21. The results showed that the increase in students' vocabulary recognition increased on all indicators of word recognition, such as identifying clues in multiple choice (69.23% progress) and finding word meanings (43.02% progress). The results of this study finally showed that the students' vocabulary understanding was 53.00 for their pre-test and 81.64 for their post-test. This fact shows that the students’ score in the post-test is higher than the pre-test score. It can be concluded that vocabulary learning with the context clues strategy was effective in improving vocabulary VIII-D SMPN 52 Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to know the effect of the flipped classroom model on students' writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 18 Makassar. This study focused on pre-experimental research one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were students of class XI SMAN 18 Makassar. The writer took 270 students as the population. A random sampling technique was used to take one class as the research sample, totaling 30 students. Data obtained from writing test. The results of this study used inferential analysis of the t-test by SPSS v.16, which showed a significant effect on the students’ mean score writing skill between the pretest and post-test. The mean score of the students’ writing enhanced from 52.33 in the pretest to 82.03 in the posttest. The significance value calculated 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the flipped classroom model is effect applied to students’ writing skill in class XI at SMA Negeri 18 Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research was to find out the using of serial image media can improve students’ ability writing in English narrative text. The researcher used the pre-experimental one group pre-test, post-test research. The total population of class VIII was 395 students amounting eleven classes, The research sample was class VIII.5 which consist 35 student participants. The research was conducted by giving treatment and succeeded in improving students’ ability writing narrative text in several element consisting of content, organization, vocabulary, grammar and mechanic. The treatment was carried out using serial image media as a medium in learning writing. After conducted the research, the researcher analyzed the data using IBM SPSS statistics 24. There was a significant increase in the using serial image media in writing narrative text at class VIII.5.The result of the mean writing score on the pre-test was 59.40, after the researcher gave treatment using serial image media, it turned out that the score of students’ writing in the post-test increased to 78.66. Therefore, the using of serial image media can improve students at class VIII.5 of SMPN 8 Makassar in ability writing narrative text. <![CDATA[ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to find out if there is a significant difference before and after being taught GIST strategy in recount text for students in writing skill especially in summarization at SMPN 8 Makassar in the academic year 2021/2022. The data were collected through two tests, pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was students of SMPN 8 Makassar 2020/2022 academic year and the sample of this research was 33 students. Then the data collected by using writing test which was applied in pre-test and post-test, and the treatment was given before the post-test in treatment carried out using GIST Strategy. The process of this research took four meetings. The result of this study was analyzed by using Paired Sample Test on SPSS 26. According to the result of this research using GIST strategy could increase students’ writing summary. It was proven by the result of Paired Sample Test on pre-test and post-test scores, which show the value sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00. <![CDATA[This research was conducted with the aim of determining whether or not there was an improving in students' English vocabulary by using Spelling bee games in grade 7 students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar. This study used a pre-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and data analysis.The population in this study were students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar for the 2021/2022 school year. the sample in this study was 36 students in grade 7.4. The results of this study were analyzed using a paired sample T-test on SPSS. According to the results of using the bee spelling game, it can increase the vocabulary of grade 7.4 students of SMP Negeri 8 Makassar.This can be seen based on the results of the Paired Sample T-test on the pre-test value the column is 0.00. <![CDATA[The aim of this study was to find out there was a factor that made students’ anxiety in speaking English after doing the research in VIII-8 class at SMPN 24Makassar in the 2022/2023 academic year. The approach of this study was qualitative descriptive research with using questionnaire public speaking class anxiety scale. Students’ speaking anxiety was filled by used questionnaire to electing the data. The writer took the eighth grade with 27 students from the population. The method of this study used purposive sampling technique to select a sample from the population. The results of data analysis showed that there was a factor that made students’ anxiety in speaking. The score obtained from factor of embarrassment was 225. In all factors it showed that the number of embarrassment was the highest. Factor of lack of preparation score was 55. It showed that in all factors the number of lack of preparation was lowest from the all factors. It means that factor embarrassment was the most factors that made students’ anxiety in speaking English at eighth grade students at SMPN 24 Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is aim to find out whether there is a significant influence of using Technology, Entertainment, and Design) TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. This research uses the pre-experimental research method. The population of this research is students of the second-grade of IPA 3 of SMAN 1 Mamuju in academic year 2021/2022. The number of the sample are 20 students. The researcher collected the data by giving pre-test, treatment, post-test, and questionnaire. The data of this research is analyzed by SPSS 24 version. The researcher conludes that there was significant influence of using TED-Talk media on students’ speaking skill. It supported by the results of mean score in pre-test and post-test. The mean score in pre-test was 42.60, while in post-test was 79.00. The results of this study shows that the significance value is 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. It shows that the the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. This means that there are significant influence of using TED-Talk on students’ speaking skill.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of the research was to know the students' vocabulary mastery through Mobile Legends game online application and to find out the affect of Mobile Legends Game online application on students' vocabulary mastery. This research uses the pre-experimental research method. The population of this research were the students of the second-grade of SMA Negeri 4 Makassar in 2022/2023 academic year, with sample were 30 students. The researcher collected the data by giving pre-test and post-test. The data of this research was analyzed by SPSS 24 Version. Based on the results of data analysis, the researcher concluded that the use of Mobile Legends Game online application can increase students' vocabulary mastery, it's proved by the mean score of the students in pretest and post-test. The result of the research shows that Mobile Legends Game online application was significantly increased students' vocabulary mastery. <![CDATA[The objective of the research was to find out whether or not the use of E-Learning through Cisco Webex Meeting application enhance students’ writing skill at grade XII SMAN 18 Makassar. This research used an pre-experimental method. This research conducted in three steps such as pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The sample of this research is class IPA XII IPA 2 membered 27 students. Data colleting by using pre-test and post-test. After analyzing the data, the writer concluded that the use of the cisco webex meeting application in teaching English could enhance students’ writing of grade XII IPA 2 SMAN 18 Makassar it was proved with the mean score of the students in the pre-test was 52,96 and the post-test was 76,67. The calculated significance value is 0.000 less than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). If the significance is less then 0,05 so, this research hypothesis is accepted. Thus the use of Cisco Webex application as a learning media can enhance students' writing skill at SMAN 18 Makassar.]]>

<![CDATA[The background of this study based on the fact that speaking skill is the one of the most difficult skill to learn in English. The objective of the study was to know whether there was a improvement on using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application on students’ speaking skill at the eleventh grade of SMAN 18 Makassar. This study used a pre-experimental research method in one class pre-test and post-test. This study conducted at SMAN 18 Makassar. The population in this study was the eleventh grade in the academic year 2022/2023. The number of samples were 20 students from eleventh grade Social Science 4. The writer used the application of SPPS v.25 in conducted the data analysis. The result of this study was using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application can improve students’ speaking skill. It can be proven by the average score obtained by students in the pre-test and post-test. The mean score increased from 48,60 on the pre-test to 82,00 on the post-test. It showed that the hypothesis H1 was accepted and hypothesis H0 was rejected. Based on the analysis above, it could conclude that using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application could improve students’ speaking skill at SMAN 18 Makassar.]]>
