Abstract

This community service highlights the severe issue of stunting in Indonesia, notably after the country ranked second in Southeast Asia for the prevalence of toddlers experiencing poor growth in 2018. Stunting has become a primary focus of the Indonesian government. The University of Education Indonesia (UPI), as one of the leading institutions in the country, took the initiative to prevent the increase in stunting rates through the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN-T) program with the theme "Si Penting" (Mahasiswa Peduli Stunting). This community service explores the active role of UPI Si Penting KKN-T students in maintaining the Zero Stunting condition in Karangwangi Village. By forming various work programs focused on toddlers, adolescents, and pregnant women, students successfully made positive contributions through activities such as integrated health posts, counseling, awareness campaigns, the CEKAS program, POSBINDU-PTM, the realization of TP-PKK innovations, and the Ketapang Kancana program. The innovative steps taken by TP-PKK and the Karangwangi Village officials create a breakthrough in stunting prevention efforts while simultaneously enhancing the village's self-reliance. Thus, the KKN-T "Si Penting" activities provide a concrete solution for the community in Karangwangi Village and inspire improving health services, especially related to stunting, at the local level.

Abstract

Digitalisation is one of the steps in managing Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) that now needs to be taken as technology develops. Business digitalisation by SMEs in Indonesia is still not implemented and paid enough attention, including by Taringgul Tonggoh Village, Wanayasa District, Purwakarta Regency. This results in several problems for SMEs founders, such as obstruction of product promotion and marketing activities, which can affect the development of SMEs themselves. So, digitalisation assistance is needed for SMEs so they can maximize digitalisation. This service was carried out in Taringgul Tonggoh Village to provide SMEs players with an understanding of the use of digital media in running SMEs. The methods used in this program are socialization, mentoring, and surveys. The results obtained from this program are an increased understanding of online product marketing and social media management for SMEs. This program also updates logos and labels and registers production house locations on Google Maps. Business digitalization can provide great opportunities for SMEs to increase buyer interest.

Abstract

The village is a legal community unit with household administration based on the rights of origin and customs recognized by the central government and domiciled in the regional district. The existence of KKN in the village will train students to observe what might be developed or identify a problem that requires a solution. One of the programs that needs a solution to maintain environmental cleanliness is the Jumat Nagrog Bersih (JUNARSIH) Movement. This is done by evaluating the results of the observations made. The results show a need for re-socialization to increase public awareness about maintaining environmental cleanliness. In addition, it is necessary to collaborate with the entire potential of the community, such as informal leaders, religious leaders, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and mass media, so that this program can be more widely mobilized and feel its echo in the community. The strategies that can be carried out to carry out the JUNARSIH Movement are communication strategies, focusing on the intended target, and choosing the right form of communication to make the village community able to increase and improve the quality and quantity of environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

Reading is one of the most important activities in human life. Aside from being a means of entertainment, reading has many benefits that can improve one's quality of life. This is in line with the UN agenda, namely Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which strive to improve the quality of life for everyone throughout the world. The existence of SDGs point 4 related to quality education has encouraged UPI 2023 thematic Community Services students to set up a reading corner in Sukadami Village. This is based on a lack of interest in reading and the provision of existing facilities in Sukadami Village. The location for establishing this reading corner is in the Karang Taruna secretariat room of Sukadami Village. This placement is considered due to its strategic location so that it is easily accessible by anyone. Methods of implementation include (1) collecting various types of reading materials, (2) establishing reading corners, and (3) socializing the urgency of reading. With this work program it is hoped that it can stimulate interest in reading in the community in Sukadami Village. Another goal is to regenerate post-corona social interaction so that a harmonious and caring society can be re-formed. The end result of the implementation of this program is the success of channeling interest in reading by providing a special place for reading.

Abstract

The Wanayasa area is one of the areas in Purwakarta that has abundant natural resources, creative and innovative human resources, and also has the potential for developing villages, one of which is Taringgul Tonggoh Village which has won 3rd place in the Java Province Village and Subdistrict Competition, west in 2023. The Village Government is trying to develop lagging aspects by developing digital media management to maintain what has been achieved. Therefore, the service program in the form of Real Work Lectures (KKN) created in this paper aims to educate the Village Government by conducting Digital Media Management Training for Village Development. This training aims to provide training so that Village Officials are proficient in operating Digital Media in Taringgul Tonggoh Village, including Instagram, Facebook, and the My Village Website. In digital media, village profiles are updated, village news adds village tourism, and completed village products (food and crafts) are in marketing features. After this program is implemented, village officials can create posters for design activities, social media posts in an organized manner, and appropriate captions for the posts. Village Officials gain insight into the village website and can manage it.

Abstract

Indonesia still faces nutritional problems, which seriously impact the quality of human resources (HR). One of the problems of malnutrition that is still relatively high in Indonesia includes the issue of stunting and emaciation in toddlers, as well as the problem of anemia and chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women. The theme "The Important: Caring for Stunting" invites UPI KKN students to play their role as agents of change to overcome the problem of stunting in society. Students are expected to be able to get closer to communities affected by stunting, learn about the root causes, and develop concrete solutions that can be implemented on a local scale. This KKN activity was carried out on 26 July - 26 August 2023. Located in Karangwangi village, Ciranjang District, Cianjur Regency. The work program procedures for this activity were carried out in collaboration with the TP-PKK regarding posyandu services, stunting outreach to PAUD, and PHBS outreach to Karangsari Elementary School. From the results of this work program, it is hoped that we will know more about stunting and can prevent stunting in children in the future. The hope is that the stunting rate in Indonesia can decrease, especially in Karangwangi Village itself; the stunting rate is at 0 (zero), so this hope can be maintained.

Abstract

Commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia is one of the programs held by UPI KKNT students in Sukahurip Village. This service documents and analyzes competition activities commemorating the 78th Indonesian Independence Day in Sukahurip Village. Activities involve competitions such as carnivals, dongdang, and gate decorating, aiming to foster a feeling of love for the country, remembering the nation's struggle's history, and appreciating Indonesian culture's noble values and diversity. The competition activity created a moment of togetherness and patriotism in Sukahurip Village. Through the creativity and innovation displayed in each competition, people are inspired to get involved in the development of their region. Social solidarity is strengthened primarily through active participation in the preparation and implementation of dongdang competitions. Suggestions for further programs could include integration of vertical and horizontal approaches, active community participation in planning, long-term impact evaluation, analysis of community welfare, comparative studies with similar villages, development of local development models, and further studies on the role of KKN students. Hopefully, this service program can contribute to understanding the impact of competition activities in Sukahurip Village.

Abstract

This program examines the potential and challenges of Cibogo Village, Subang Regency's workforce during the Community Services Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN) activities conducted by the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Despite Cibogo Village having a significant workforce, particularly within the productive age range, disparities in the quality of the workforce are the primary focus. Data indicates that most of the workforce has only basic education, such as completing primary school or its equivalent, creating obstacles in meeting the demands of an increasingly developing industrial era. Additionally, there is an imbalance in job participation between men and women, with a significant number of women choosing to be homemakers. A descriptive approach with data collection through observation was used in this program. The results suggest the need for efforts to improve education and skills training to enhance the quality of the workforce in Cibogo Village. Furthermore, a deeper understanding of gender roles in job participation is essential to create equality and empowerment between men and women. Based on this, Cibogo Village can obtain an overview of its potential, mainly related to factors that can be of concern for improvement, especially in terms of gender equality, absorption of science and technology, and development of UMKMs.
