Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) conducted by Universitas Sebelas Maret Group 173 in Garunglor Village, Sukoharjo District, Wonosobo Regency, was implemented in response to issues related to salak (snake fruit) waste management and the dominant use of chemical fertilizers in local agricultural practices. Salak fruits that do not meet market standards are generally discarded without processing, leading to production inefficiency and potential agroecosystem disturbances. This topic was selected due to the importance of optimizing local resources and promoting environmentally sustainable farming practices. The program applied a participatory approach based on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), involving observation, interviews, socialization sessions, and hands-on training in the production of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) derived from salak waste. The results indicate increased community understanding and a shift in perception of waste as a productive agricultural input. Ecologically, the initiative supports nutrient cycling and soil quality improvement, while economically contributing to production cost efficiency. Therefore, the utilization of salak waste into liquid organic fertilizer represents a strategic step toward a more circular, adaptive, and sustainable local agricultural system.

Abstract

Parenting knowledge is a fundamental foundation that parents must master as the main provision for shaping children's character. Currently, cultural shifts, civilizational transformations, and technological disruptions have significantly impacted interaction and parenting patterns. However, not all parents comprehend the detrimental effects of technological exposure on child development. The emergence of various issues related to child and adolescent delinquency has become an alarming threat to parents. Consequently, this community service program aims to provide parenting education to address contemporary challenges and alleviate parental anxiety. This activity specifically targets a group of 30 mothers residing in Krajan Hamlet, Ngadirojo Village, Sooko District. The program was implemented using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, encompassing four primary stages: discovery, design, define, and reflection. Through this educational initiative, it is anticipated that parents' understanding of parenting styles relevant to the digital era will improve. Furthermore, the program endeavors to cultivate a parental mindset emphasizing the importance of active involvement in monitoring, guiding, and listening to their children's aspirations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Tatanen di Balé Atikan (TdBA) program through the action “Planting One Tree, One Thousand Hopes” carried out by students of the Teacher Professional Program (P3K) at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Purwakarta Campus, at SDN 2 Nagrikaler as an effort to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity focuses on fostering ecological awareness and developing students’ environmental care character through tree-planting activities within the school environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews and documentation. The results show that the implementation of the TdBA program through the “Planting One Tree, One Thousand Hopes” action contributes to the achievement of SDGs, particularly in supporting the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems. In addition, the activity successfully increased environmental awareness among students and school communities and encouraged the use of the school environment as a learning resource. This program also highlights the important role of university students as agents of change in promoting environmental awareness within educational settings.
