Abstract

The purification carbon from coconut shell through carbonization with pyrolysis method at temperature 600 °C for 1 hour has been done. Carbon is refined in various temperature such as 150 oC, 200 °C, 250 °C, 300 oC, and 350 °C. The flow rate of carbon refining is 200 mL/minute for 1 hour using a reduction reaction method with hydrogen as the reducer to reduce oxygen content in the carbon. The result show indicates that the maximum carbon content 96,53 %  at 350 °C. The increasing carbon content during the reduction process because hydrogen attaches oxygen to establish H2O bond and it is proved by the result of FTIR test.

Abstract

Penelitian Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (classroom action research). Bertujuan meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa SMP Negeri Kabupaten Kupang.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama proses pembelajaran fisika dengan materi Karakteristik zat. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang. Data prestasi belajar siswa diambil dari nilai tes belajar siswa setiap akhir siklus yang diambil selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Dari hasil penelitian prestasi belajar siswa pada siklus I diperoleh persentase ketuntasan belajar untuk indikator I sebesar 96,67% sudah mencapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal, untuk indikator II sebesar 90% sudah mencapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal, untuk indikator III sebesar 86,67% sudah mencapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal, dan untuk indikator IV sebesar 60% belum mencapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal. Pada siklus II untuk indikator IV sebesar 93,33% sudah mencapai ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal. This research use a Classroom Action Research (CAR). Where in each cycle have a five phases: planning stage, action stage, observation stage evaluation stage and reflection phase. This research was conducted in two cycles. Where the first cycle there have three meetings and in the second cycle there have one meetings. The research was conducted during the process of learning in physics at the matterial on essence characteristic. Subject of this research are the student of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah totally amount 30 persons. Learning achievement of the students get drawn from the cognitive test studying at the finally cycle, student assessment have taken during the learning process. From the results of student learning achievement in the first cycle obtained the percentage passing grade for the first indicator is 96,67% has reached complete learn classical, for the indicator II is 90% has reached complete learn classical, for the indicator III amount 86,67% reached complete learn classical, and the indicator IV amount 60% has not reached complete learn classicall. The second cycle of the IV indicator amount 93,33% has reached complete learn classical.
