Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that develops gradually and requires long-term management. The Prolanis program is implemented as a promotive and preventive effort to control this condition. This study aims to evaluate the improvement in knowledge of hypertensive patients after being given education on a healthy lifestyle. The activity was conducted at the Multipurpose Hall of RW 20, within the working area of Ngoresan Public Health Center, Surakarta City, using a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design. The intervention involved counseling sessions, educational leaflets, and interactive discussions provided to 30 Prolanis participants. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant increase in knowledge after the intervention (p < 0.05). A total of 26 respondents showed an increase in post-test scores, while 4 remained the same. These findings indicate that counseling-based education is effective in enhancing the knowledge and attitudes of hypertensive patients, and supports disease control through lifestyle changes.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) through the Student Community Service (KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung (UML) was carried out to strengthen the promotion and branding capacity of the cassava chips micro-enterprise “Manggleng Bu RT” in Wates Village, Pringsewu, Lampung. The activities were designed using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which emphasizes the direct involvement of business actors in each stage. The intervention focused on three simple yet effective strategies: (1) creating a banner as a visual promotional medium in the surrounding environment, (2) optimizing packaging with branded stickers to strengthen product identity, and (3) registering the business location on Google Maps to expand consumer reach and enhance digital visibility. The activities were implemented in five stages: initial coordination, needs assessment, design co-creation, production and procurement, as well as handover and training on managing the digital profile. The results demonstrated an improvement in the promotional readiness of the MSME through the availability of banners and stickers, along with the establishment of a digital identity that makes it easier for consumers to find the business location. Conceptually, this synergy of visual and digital promotion is relevant to recent literature emphasizing the importance of simple branding, minimum digital presence, and local promotion strategies for the sustainability of MSMEs. This program recommends replicating the minimum promotion for other food-based MSMEs in rural–urban areas as an initial step towards sustainable digital transformation.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools remains a critical issue that negatively affects students’ psychological well-being, academic achievement, and the overall learning climate. The Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbudristek) Regulation No. 46 of 2023 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Institutions (PPKSP) mandates a systematic response to prevent and address school violence, including bullying. This article describes a community service program in the form of an anti-bullying socialization activity conducted by students of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung (UML) at SDN 1 Wates, Pringsewu, on July 31, 2025. The activity was part of the broader KKN program held from July 28 to August 20, 2025, targeting students from grades 1 to 6. The program’s method combined outdoor sessions for all classes, interactive question-and-answer activities, and in-class reinforcement for grades 5 and 6 through case discussions and collective commitments. The materials emphasized the definition of bullying, its forms, impacts, and safe prevention and reporting strategies. The results revealed high enthusiasm among students, improved understanding of bullying, and an initial commitment from the school to follow up with simple reporting mechanisms and improved school rules. This program is aligned with the UNESCO-recommended whole-school approach and strengthens child-friendly school ecosystems in rural communities. With digital literacy integration, teacher–parent involvement, and institutional follow-up, such initiatives have the potential to serve as a model for developing safe schools through community-based engagement.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on efforts to empower the residents of Tengger Wetan Village, Tuban, through assistance in digital promotion based on local wisdom, especially related to the preservation of the Tomb of Waliullah Simbah Buyut Ndukoh. The mentoring process is carried out using the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method which emphasizes exploring the potential, assets, and strengths of the community to then be developed independently. This approach is realized through a series of participatory activities, ranging from visual and narrative content production training, social media management, to the formation of community-based digital promotion teams. The results of the activity show that the community, especially the younger generation, not only acquires technical skills, but also a deep understanding of religious and cultural values that must be maintained in the delivery of digital messages. Digital promotion was then mutually agreed upon as a means of cultural da'wah, not just a tourism promotion medium. Thus, the application of the ABCD method has been proven to be able to integrate spiritual values, local identity, and modern technology, while strengthening community independence in managing the sustainability of digital promotion in a creative, polite, and educational manner.

Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable age group when it comes to reproductive health issues due to rapid physical, emotional, and social changes, as well as a lack of accurate information. This community service activity aims to improve adolescents' knowledge and attitudes toward reproductive health through interactive education at SMP Negeri 5 Sukoharjo, Central Java. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 60 eighth-grade students selected purposively. The intervention was carried out through material delivery, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and interactive quizzes for 120 minutes. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 5.45 to 7.90 and the attitude score from 14.88 to 17.43 (p < 0.001). This indicates that interactive education is effective in increasing knowledge and shaping positive attitudes among adolescents towards reproductive health. This activity emphasizes the importance of applying interactive learning methods in schools as a promotional-preventive effort in addressing adolescent reproductive health issues.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life is a crucial intervention to support optimal infant growth and development, as well as to reduce infant morbidity and mortality. However, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia has not yet reached the national target. One of the contributing factors is the lack of maternal knowledge regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. With the advancement of technology, health education can now be delivered digitally, enabling wider and more effective outreach. This community service activity aimed to analyze the effect of digital counseling on improving pregnant women’s knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Puskesmas Ngrampal, Sragen Regency. The program involved 35 pregnant women from Bener, Kebonromo, and Gabus villages. The intervention was conducted through educational video sessions, with knowledge measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed an increase in the mean knowledge score from 7.89 (pre-test) to 8.54 (post-test). The Wilcoxon test revealed a significance value of p = 0.003 (< 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference before and after the intervention. These findings suggest that digital counseling is effective in enhancing pregnant women’s knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. This activity recommends that health workers intensify the use of digital media in health promotion and develop sustainable educational content to support exclusive breastfeeding programs.

Abstract

Primary Health Care Transformation positions health cadres as key actors in implementing Integrated Primary Care (IPC). Although flipcharts are widely used in health education, evidence on their effectiveness in improving cadre readiness for IPC remains limited. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of flipcharts in increasing Posyandu cadres’ IPC knowledge. A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design without a control group was conducted among 30 purposively selected cadres in Sragen Regency in September 2025. IPC knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The mean knowledge score increased from 9.17 to 9.97, with a Wilcoxon test result of p = 0.002 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement. These findings support previous evidence on the usefulness of simple visual media in strengthening cadre comprehension. Flipcharts are a practical educational tool to enhance cadre capacity and support IPC implementation at the community level.
