Abstract

Academic stress is a condition that can arise when students are faced with various academic demands, such as preparing final projects, implementing practical exams, high grade standards, and preparing for the world of work. These various pressures have the potential to affect the mental health condition of students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between academic stress levels and mental health in final year health students at University X Pekanbaru in 2025. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research location is at University X Pekanbaru with a population of 49 students. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The instruments used for data collection were the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20). The results of the analysis showed that most of the respondents experienced a moderate level of academic stress (75.5%). Meanwhile, the mental health condition of the majority of respondents was in the normal category (55.1%). A statistical test using Chi-Square yielded a value of p = 0.004 (p < 0.05), which showed that there was a significant relationship between academic stress levels and students' mental health, especially in final year students. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions provide counseling services, stress management education programs, and adequate psychological support to help students deal with academic pressure more adaptively.

Abstract

Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health shows that the number of maternal deaths in 2022 caused by eclampsia is 23% and bleeding is 20%. In 2023, the cause of death due to eclampsia is 24% and postpartum bleeding is 23%. The postpartum period is the period after a mother gives birth to a baby which is used to restore her health which generally takes 6-12 weeks. Postpartum gymnastics helps heal the uterus, abdomen, and hip muscles that have been traumatized and accelerates the return of these parts to their normal shape, helps normalize joints that have become loose due to pregnancy and childbirth and prevents further weakening and stretching, produces psychological benefits, increases the ability to deal with stress and relax so as to reduce postpartum depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge about postpartum excercises and the implementation of postpartum excercises in the Payung Sekaki Health Center Work Area. The research design used in this study was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were postpartum mothers with an accidental sampling technique with a sample size of 45 people. Data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results of the univariate analysis obtained that the knowledge of respondents who had sufficient knowledge was 44.4% and had good knowledge 55.6%. Implementation of postpartum gymnastics 46.7% of respondents who did not do postpartum excercises and 53.3% of respondents did postpartum excercises. Statistical tests using Chi-Square produced a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05), which showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge about postpartum excercises and the implementation of postpartum excercises. The better the mother's knowledge, the better the reception of information received, so that the mother can receive information. With good knowledge, it is expected that postpartum mothers will do postpartum excercises.

Abstract

The limitations of conventional urea fertilizers are the high their solubility, inefficient use, and environmental impact. The objective of the study was to formulate the long-lasting urea slow-release fertilizer (SRF) in briquette form following the molding method. The briquettes were prepared using polystyrene (PS) and starch (ST) bioblend in three formulas. The ratios of urea to bioblend in Formulas 1, 2, and 3 were 1.5:1, 1:1, and 1:1.5, respectively. However, the ratios between PS and ST in Formulas 1, 2, and 3 were 3:1, 4:1, and 5:1, respectively. Urea levels in the briquette and in the dissolution medium were analyzed using a visible spectrophotometer. Urea was reacted by the addition of Ehrlich reagents. The absorbance of the solution was measured at a maximum absorption wavelength of 420 nm. The dissolution efficiency of urea from Formula 1, 2, and 3 was 34.84±0.52, 32.55±0.91, and 30.76±0.39%, respectively (p˂0.05). The release kinetics of urea from the briquette followed the Korsmeyer-Peppas model. The T90 from all of the formulas obtained in the range of 8.3 to 12.9 years. It is an extraordinary long lasting fertilizer release.

Abstract

Pediculosis is a head lice infection caused by Pediculus humanus capitis, which commonly occurs, especially among school-aged children. The typical approach to treating pediculosis involves the use of chemical insecticides; however, these are not environmentally friendly. Therefore, alternative treatments using natural ingredients, such as duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) peel extract, are needed. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the N-hexane extract of Lansium domesticum peel against the mortality of nymphs, adult lice, and the microscopic condition of lice eggs (Pediculus humanus capitis). This research used an experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The results showed that the percentage of inactive egg stages was 100% at a 20% concentration, 90% at 15%, and 70% at 10%. Nymph mortality was 80% at 20% concentration, and 60% at both 15% and 10%. Adult lice mortality was 80% at 20%, 20% at 15%, and 0% at 10%. The conclusion of this study is that the N-hexane extract of Lansium domesticum peel can act as a natural insecticide against lice eggs, nymphs, and adults.

Abstract

Sweetened condensed milk packaged in cans aims to extend the shelf life of the milk. Usually, the can components use tin as a steel coating, chromium as a tin coating, and lead to connect the lid and body so that it can be contaminated with heavy metals originating from the can components, therefore it is necessary to pay attention to the safety and its effects on packaged food. This study was conducted to determine the levels of tin (Sn), chromium (Cr), and lead (Pb) contained in canned sweetened condensed milk based on its production period and to determine the appropriateness of the levels of heavy metals contained in canned sweetened condensed milk. Samples of canned sweetened condensed milk were taken randomly in Pekanbaru city with 3 brands and different expiration dates. The samples were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. The concentration of tin metal in SKI samples ranged from 124.00 - 155.05 mg/kg, SKE samples ranged from 122.40 - 151.71 mg/kg and SKF samples ranged from 147.00 - 162.12 mg/kg. The concentration of chromium metal in SKI samples ranged from 0.33 - 0.55 mg/kg, SKE samples ranged from 0.32 - 0.44 mg/kg, and SKF samples ranged from 0.24 mg/kg. The concentration of lead metal in SKI milk ranged from 0.076-0.14 mg/kg, SKE samples ranged from 0.032-0.048 mg/kg and SKF samples ranged from 0.045-0.061 mg/kg. Based on the regulation of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency number 9 of 2022 concerning the maximum limit of metal contamination in canned SKI milk products, canned SKI milk, and canned SKF milk are not suitable for consumption because all samples contain heavy metal contamination of chromium and lead that exceeds the threshold.
