Abstract

This study investigates the role of teacher feedback in improving students’ pronunciation during English reading activities and explores students' responses to the feedback provided. Conducted as a qualitative case study, the research involved classroom observation and student interviews in an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) context at the Islamic Economic Law Department. The findings revealed that students frequently mispronounced common English words due to a reliance on spelling rather than pronunciation rules. Corrective feedback from the teacher, delivered immediately after each student’s reading, helped students identify and correct their errors. The majority of students responded positively, showing increased motivation, attentiveness, and willingness to prepare for future reading sessions. These findings support the idea that timely, specific, and supportive feedback plays a significant role in enhancing students’ reading accuracy and engagement. The study contributes to the ongoing discussion about effective feedback strategies in EFL classrooms and suggests that oral corrective feedback is a valuable tool in teaching English pronunciation.

Abstract

This study examines the children’s literacy textbook Nona Bupu: Pemandu Cilik dari Lereng Gunung Inerie through the lens of postcolonial ecocriticism and cultural hybridity. Traditional children’s literature from postcolonial regions frequently succumbs to a dual trap: either romanticizing the Indigenous subject as a static, pre-modern artifact or framing the regional landscape purely through the tourist gaze. This article investigates how the narrative subverts these paradigms by positioning its young protagonist, Nona Bupu, not merely as a passive cultural guide but as an active agent of eco-cosmopolitanism. By analyzing the intersection of sacred local geography (Gunung Inerie), traditional socio-religious practices (ka sa’o and meghe), and intercultural encounters with domestic tourists, the study demonstrates how the text fosters a nuanced space of cultural hybridity. The methodology employs a qualitative textual and ideological analysis rooted in postcolonial and ecocritical frameworks. The findings reveal that the text actively deconstructs the colonial binary of the civilized metropolitan observer versus the regional subject. Instead, it offers a contemporary model of indigenous agency where local ecological wisdom and global modernity coexist dialogically, establishing a vital precedent for progressive, decolonial pedagogical materials in primary education

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence is increasingly used in Arabic language education, yet its performance in understanding and processing Arabic grammar remains markedly inconsistent. This narrative review examines why AI systems struggle with Arabic grammar and explores the pedagogical implications of these computational limitations. Drawing on 26 primary studies published between 2020 and 2026, the review identifies five interconnected linguistic challenges: the non-linear root-and-pattern morphology of Arabic, the routine omission of diacritics that obscures grammatical case, extensive dialectal diversity, persistent data scarcity, and the syntactic complexity of the i'rab case system. Empirical evidence shows that even advanced models perform substantially worse on morphological and syntactic tasks than on surface-level tasks, with GPT-4o achieving only 67 percent accuracy on Arabic grammar benchmarks and Arabic-specific models scoring considerably lower. The review demonstrates that the structural features of Arabic that make natural language processing difficult are precisely the features that pose risks for learners who depend on AI without critical oversight. These risks include the formation of misconceptions, overreliance on AI-generated outputs, and the erosion of critical thinking and teacher expertise. The findings suggest that effective AI integration in Arabic grammar instruction requires a Human-in-the-Loop approach, targeted teacher training, and the development of critical AI literacy among learners

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Graphology System Based on Students' Basic Literacy (SINGO MBOIS) in supporting the School Literacy Program at SMP Negeri 27 Malang. Basic literacy, including reading, writing, and listening skills, plays an essential role in students’ learning success. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 288 students from grades VII, VIII, and IX. The instrument used a Likert scale to measure students’ responses across several literacy indicators. Data analysis was conducted using percentage calculations to determine the level of effectiveness. The results show that the average effectiveness of the SINGO MBOIS program reached 76%, categorized as high. Most indicators, such as reading comprehension, writing ability, and learning motivation, demonstrated positive outcomes. However, aspects such as handwriting neatness and audio-based listening still require improvement. Overall, the SINGO MBOIS system is effective in enhancing students’ literacy skills and can be considered an innovative approach to strengthening literacy programs in schools.

Abstract

The scattered of English throughout the world signaled the language significance. Thus, the current study aims to improve junior high school vocabulary mastery in TEFL. A random sampling technique under pre-experimental design was employed to select one class out of the eight classes. The study then recruited 21 students. Vocabulary test in the form of multiple choices was implemented as the instrument of the study, consisted of 50 items. The test was administrated twice. The first test was pre-test and the second test was post-test to see the method significance difference. Moreover, the results of the pre-test and post-test were analyzed by using t-test. Based on the study, the data analysis on the students’ score in pre-test unpacked that the mean score of the pre-test was 45.61, the mean score of post-tests was 67.52, the t-value was 79.56, and the t-value in the table was 17.25. Therefore, the finding of the research showed that the use of PPP method may increase EFL vocabulary mastery, indicating accepted hypothesis.

Abstract

This research focuses on the political education about presidential threshold or the threshold of votes that a political party must obtain in an election to be able to nominate a presidential candidate. The presidential threshold regulates the minimum requirements for submitting presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely that 20% of the votes of a political party or combination of political parties must be obtained. To explore this study, the researchers formulated the problem as follows: What are the basic considerations in determining the 20% presidential threshold? With the aim of knowing and analyzing the basis for considering the 20% presidential threshold in selecting presidential and vice presidential candidates in Indonesia..The results of the research show that a. in consideration of determining the presidential threshold, it does not match the essence of its initial objectives, because it only benefits the majority party and in its preparation it is not in accordance with the aspirations of strengthening the presidential system and simplifying the party.
