Abstract

An ACL injury has been the most common injury for several years. Athletes and players who play the game have the same risk factor to have it. Injury prevention programs must be conducted among teams and could remove team injury costs in medical staff and rehabilitation. This review aims to conduct one prevention program for ACL injury in Indonesian soccer athletes. In Indonesia, this program needs support from all stakeholders, including the coach, chief executor manager, and the medical team. The risk factor of ACL injury is divided into external and internal factors, which have to be the main focus of the medical team to process a program. Prevention program for an ACL injury includes strengthening, agility, plyometrics, balance, and proper warm-up. Those types of exercise should be implemented in intervention among athletes, but they still need their perspectives and health condition.

Abstract

Introduction: College students use smartphones with a high level of use, high levels of smartphone use due to various purposes such as academic and non-academic needs, and prolonged use of smartphones with poor posture can cause permanent changes in posture to their users. One of the posture changes that can occur is the forward head posture (FHP). Methods: The research design was a cross-sectional study conducted from August to December 2021 with a population of Udayana University Physiotherapy students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, and obtained 62 samples. This study used the YourHour application and Web Plot Digitizer to measure the duration of smartphone use and the craniovertebral angle, respectively. Data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 to determine the relationship between smartphone use with forward head posture occurrence in physiotherapy students. Results: The majority of students who were in the research sample used smartphones with a high level of duration, as many as 46 samples; in 46 samples with a high level of duration found, 28 samples experienced forward head posture, in students with moderate and low duration levels, forward head posture is rare. The results of the chi-square obtained are p-value = 0.009. it indicates that there is a relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the duration of smartphone conditions and forward head posture in students of the Physiotherapy Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. In this study, it can be seen that the forward head posture is the majority of smartphones with high intensity.

Abstract

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders are defined as complaints or disorders that cause discomfort to the musculoskeletal system. During lecture activities, students are mostly in a static posture. Static and repetitive muscle loading when sitting for a long period can cause muscle fatigue due to the accumulation of lactic acid. Besides, it produces discomfort or pain in the musculoskeletal system. The purpose of the research is to describe an overview of musculoskeletal disorders in undergraduate students of the Bachelor and Professional Program of Physical Therapy Faculty of Medicine Udayana University during the lecture. Methods: The method of this research is descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional, which has been carried out from October to November 2021. This research used a total sampling technique. The participants were undergraduate students of the Bachelor and Professional of Physical Therapy Program, College of Medicine, Universitas Udayana, with a total of 196 participants who met the established criteria. Researchers measured musculoskeletal disorders using a Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. Analysis of research data using univariate analysis, namely age, gender, body mass index, study period, duration of the study, and musculoskeletal disorders. Results: The results showed that musculoskeletal disorders were mostly complained of by students, namely the waist 61.7%, then the back 59%, followed by complaints in the lower neck 53.6% and upper neck 47.4% while the lowest complaints occurred in the left leg with a percentage of 5.6%. Conclusion: A total of 177 (90.3%) students had musculoskeletal disorders during lectures and 19 (9.7%) did not experience musculoskeletal disorders during lectures, and 94.4% had a low risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The risk of low musculoskeletal disorders can be interpreted as not requiring improvement.

Abstract

Background: Development is developing human maturity and psychological processes that cannot be measured, such as increasing skills. The development speed in children is influenced by various factors such as the environment, health, nutrition, stimulation, and the role of parents. Fine motor development can be improved by applying the learning process and playing with interesting media, so children do not get bored easily. The media should be educative, like a puzzle game. Physiotherapy plays a role in preventing and reducing further complications that do not occur in children who experience fine motor delays. This research aims to determine the effect of giving puzzle games on fine motor development in preschool children. Methods: The method applied is a literature study by looking for theoretical references related to the research carried out. This literature review uses secondary data and information from journals collected from the Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases over the last ten years as data sources. Results: Four studies discuss the impact of puzzle games on the fine motor development of preschool children. According to all journals, puzzle games impact the fine motor development of preschool-aged children. On average, about 25 children participate in each study. Conclusion: The findings obtained based on the literature that has been reviewed and the discussion state that giving puzzle games affects fine motor development in preschool children. The findings of this research can be used as a basis for puzzle therapy in children and are expected to be used to improve children's fine motor development through other games. There isn’t any clinical implication from this literature review.

Abstract

Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is brought on by the neurobiology process. This disorder ultimately results in the inability to communicate with others, a lack of interest, and repetitive behavior. One of the things that are most often encountered in children with ASD is reduced eye contact. Which, of course, will impact the severity of social deficits in the future. Patients with this behavior condition also experience motor impairments, particularly in fine motor abilities and eye contact difficulties. Naturally, there is a relationship between eye contact and fine motor abilities, where the intensity of the person's attention will undoubtedly predict fine motor abilities. Both abilities can be improved by solving puzzles. Playing this game might enhance focus, attentiveness, and fine motor abilities. This study aims to understand how puzzle games affect the attention and fine motor abilities of children with ASD. Case Description: The patient was five years and six months old with a genetic background and was diagnosed with ASD. This study was conducted at the Intan Child Physiotherapy Clinic (IFA), Boyolali. The length of time the child can maintain eye contact with objects during an attention evaluation will be used by the therapist to gauge the fine motor skills and assess how well the youngster grasps and pinches objects. Observational data-gathering approaches are employed throughout therapy. Results: The patient's capacity for eye contact attention was worth 1 second, whereas the capacity for attention to objects was 30 seconds. The number for grabbing was three (plenty), whereas the value for pinching was one and a half (very little). Conclusion: There was no significant improvement in both attentional and fine motor skills.
