Abstract

Galoba rhizome (Horstedtia alliacea) is a plant that is efficacious because it contains antibacterial compounds. It contains flavanoids and triterpenoids to inhibit bacterial growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of galoba rhizome extract against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria and to determine the concentration of the extract which had the largest inhibition zone in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The extraction method used is repeated maceration. Antibacterial testing using the disc diffusion method, the results of the antibacterial activity test of Staphylococcus aureus with extract concentrations of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% each had mean ± SD values, namely: 5.9 ± 0.76.7 .63 ± 0.96, 10.16 ± 2.63 and the results of the antibacterial activity test against Escherichia coli bacteria obtained inhibition zones at concentrations of 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% each having mean ± SD values, namely: 5, 98 ± 2.10, 6.69 ± 1.22, 8.19 ± 4.48. From this study it can be concluded that Galoba rhizome extract has antibacterial activity in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria at a concentration of 1.5% which is included in the medium category.

The results obtained received a p-value of 0.002 (Pα) that there is an association between side effects of treatment on treatment adherence in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Conclusion: we can draw a value of 0.002 (Pα). This can lead to the conclusion that there is an association between side effects of medication and treatment adherence in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

Abstract

Many elderly people's sleep needs are generally disturbed, both in quality and quantity. The impact of sleep disorders, if not handled properly, will result in physiological and psychological disorders. Benson relaxation therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy for sleep quality disorders in the elderly. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of providing the Benson relaxation technique on sleep quality for the elderly at the Pucang Gading Home for Elderly Social Services. This research uses a Quasy Experiment design. Sampling was taken using total sampling technique. The sample used was 105 elderly people who experienced sleep quality problems. Data collection used the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and statistical analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that before administering Benson relaxation therapy the average sleep quality was poor at 62.9 and after the intervention the average sleep quality was in the good category 86.7. The results of research using the Wilcoxon test obtained a P value = 0.000 < 0.05, because the p value < α means that Benson relaxation therapy is effective on sleep quality in the elderly, so Ha is accepted. From the research that has been carried out, it is hoped that elderly people who experience sleep disorders can carry out Benson Relaxation Therapy well in order to overcome the problem of disrupting sleep quality.

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy and spiritual dhikr therapy in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients, a condition known to cause various serious health issues. The study design adopted a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest method and a control group. A total of 36 participants were selected using purposive sampling techniques and divided into two groups: one group receiving PMR and dhikr therapy as treatment, and a control group receiving standard care. Blood pressure measurements were taken before and after the intervention. The study findings revealed a significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group compared to the control group (p<0.05). These results indicate that PMR and dhikr are effective non-pharmacological approaches for reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
