Abstract

Nowadays, various studies on ethnopedadogies or education in local wisdom are often carried out, the results of which are used to improve the character possessed by students. The cultivation of this character value is relatively more felt because it is based on an existing local wisdom, and occurs in the community. One form of tradition that contains the value of character education is the ngaasin tradition carried out by Pakraman Bukih Village, Belancan Village, Kintamani, Bangli. As one of the traditions that is still carried out and carried out by the community, precisely every last night before the panyineban event, of course it contains character education values that can be utilized in improving the quality of education today. To solve problems and examine the value of character education contained in this tradition, two theories are used, namely semiotic theory and ethnopedagogy. Meanwhile, the method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis (qualitative descriptive). Character education contained in the ngaasin tradition carried out by Pakraman Bukih Village, namely: a) awareness of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa/God Almighty (Spritual), b) fostering social attitudes, c) fostering a sense of togetherness and unity, d) create a sense of independence, e) improve discipline, and f) teach a sense of justice from an early age. Keywords: ngaasin, character education, ethnopedagogy

Abstract

Among the Balinese, Old Javanese literary works, especially kakawin which is very well known, are still alive and growing. The literary works of kakawin by the Balinese are read, studied and lived out in traditional gatherings which are commonly called mabebasan. Moving on from that reason, it would be very interesting to research Old Javanese literature, one of which is Kakawin Niti Sastra. Research on this kakawin needs to be done because this Kakawin Niti Sastra contains ethical and leadership values which are very important as guidelines in social life. However, on this occasion, it will be focused on the literary work through a study of text structure, as an initial effort in documenting the study of Old Javanese Literature, especially Kakawin Niti Sastra. The results showed that the Kakawin Niti Sastra text structure consisted of a formal structure and a narrative structure. The formal structure consists of: 1) guru-laghu, namely the lightness or length of the syllable sung on a kakawin, 2) the 120 stanza/pada, which is a collection of lines (carik) bound by a single unit of meaning and tone, 3) Language manuscripts, namely Old Javanese and Indonesian, 4) Colophon, namely the writer's notes, generally in manuscripts or publications, containing information about the place, time and the copy of the manuscript. The Niti Sastra manuscript in Indonesian is published by Balai Prestaka. Only then was written by the PGAHN Team 6 Years Singaraja on December 12th, 1971 and officially published in 1983-1984, 5) Alamkara, namely ornaments, decorations, stylistic ornaments, artistic language, convoluted language or too contrived, something stunning or enchanting, fantastic form. The narrative structure in Kakawin Niti Sastra consists of: 1) Manggala, which is the initial or opening part of the writing of Kakawin Niti Sastra's literary works, whose contents are in the form of tribute to Bhatara Hari and Bhatara Surya. 2) The corpus is the content of the entire Kakawin Niti Sastra script, namely the teachings of ethics and leadership, 3) The epilogue is the closing verses in Kakawin Niti Sastra which ends with "Iti Niti Sastra" and "Niti Sara Samapta" which means "thus Niti Sastra is finished ".Keywords: Structure, Kakawin Niti Sastra

Abstract

The selection of literary works as teaching materials is difficult for an educator/teacher. Teachers have to consider the criteria of 'validity' and 'suitability' in sorting and selecting literary works. This study aims to find forms of character education values in eight Indonesian legends from the BRITISH COURSE website. In addition, the eight stories are sought for relevance to narrative text material in SMA N 1 Nusa Penida. The research subjects were eight short stories in English and Indonesian. They were collected using documentation and observation methods. All stories were read and filtered using note-taking and elicitation techniques. Stories that meet the criteria of validity and suitability are recorded in the checklist while the rest will be elicited. The data were analyzed descriptively with three working steps: coding, categorizing, describing and interpreting. Coding is given to the title to be analyzed with abbreviations. Next, the data is grouped by character value. Finally, the data is described and interpreted. The results of this study indicate that eight folk tales from the archipelago are determined, namely: ((1) The Legend of Catu Island, (2) The Little Sawah, (3) The Legend of Pesut Mahakam, (3) The Legend of Belumbak Island, (4) The Legend of Singaraja, (5) The Legend of Telaga Warna, dan (6) The Legend of Situ Bagendit. The eight legends contain validity criteria, such as: (a) six values of character education: the value of hard work, the value of social care, the value of honesty, the value of religious, the value of love of peace, and the value of independence; (b) interesting and useful, and (d) easy to reach because it is presented online. Suitability criteria, the legends (a) use English and Indonesian which is not too difficult, (b) is in line with the socio-cultural environment because it is in the form of Indonesian folklore, (c) according to age, interests, psychological development, and (d) fostering curiosity. Keywords: character values, legend, narrative prose

Abstract

This paper is intended to provide an overview about the participation of stakeholders in improving the quality of education, especially providing input in the curriculum evaluation for Religious Literature and Balinese Language Education Program. The demands on higher education (college) are now wider, not only in terms of quantity and academic standards, but also the entire higher education program must prove their quality or quality of its education. To meet the demands of improving the quality of education, there are three factors that must be given attention, namely hardware which consists of facilities and infrastructure, human ware which consists of educators and education staff, and software consisting of curriculum and teaching methods. The curriculum is a very important starting point in realizing the quality of education. Through the curriculum evaluation which involves the participation of stakeholders, they are expected to provide input on improving the quality of education. But in reality the involvement of stakeholders in curriculum evaluation is still lacking, therefore it is necessary to study the active role of stakeholders in their participation in the curriculum evaluation process. The three stakeholders, namely the government, society and educational institutions, have a very big role in developing the curriculum for the Religious Literature and Balinese Language Education Program, STAHN Mpu Kuturan Singaraja through curriculum evaluation. Keywords: stakeholders, education quality, curriculum evaluation.
