Abstract

Environmental issues, driven by the growing number of industries, including food production, are a pressing concern. This research focuses on introducing green product principles to producers of Talas Beneng chips, a traditional Banten snack, to address the environmental impact of their production processes. Despite the popularity of Talas Beneng-based products, improper waste management during production poses ecological risks. This study emphasizes the urgency of educating small-scale producers on sustainable practices to minimize environmental harm. The initiative involved structured stages: initial surveys, field visits, literature reviews, socialization, education, and evaluation. The program successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of green products, highlighting the importance of sustainable production to mitigate environmental damage. By aligning local food practices with sustainable development goals, this effort contributes to fostering environmentally conscious industries and promotes the adoption of green product principles at the grassroots level, bridging tradition and innovation for a sustainable future.

Abstract

Elections are a cornerstone of democracy, reflecting popular sovereignty and the political rights of citizens. Beginner voters, however, often face challenges due to limited knowledge and understanding of electoral processes, especially in the context of simultaneous general elections. This study addresses the urgency of legal political education as a solution to these challenges, focusing on novice voters in Banten Province. Using qualitative methods and analysis of relevant literature and documents, this research highlights the experiences from the 2019 simultaneous elections, offering insights into voter behavior and participation. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) conducted at SMKN 1 Kalanganyar and SMAN 1 Ciomas provided targeted political education, significantly enhancing the knowledge, understanding, and enthusiasm of beginner voters. This initiative underscores the vital role of legal political education in empowering first-time voters and emphasizes the shared responsibility of educational institutions and stakeholders in fostering informed electoral participation.

Abstract

The 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections mark a critical moment in Indonesia’s democracy, especially for first-time voters who play a key role in shaping local political dynamics. This research explores the role of first-time voters in Serang Regency, Banten, focusing on their political rights and responsibilities, and the implementation of legal norms around political participation. Employing a normative research method, the study analyzes regulations and official data to assess how well first-time voters understand and exercise their political rights. The findings indicate that their participation not only enriches local political dynamics but also provides valuable insights for developing political education strategies, particularly in schools like SMAN 1 Pabuaran. Policy implications include strengthening collaboration between local governments, election organizers, and educational institutions to enhance first-time voter participation, fostering a more inclusive and transparent democratic process.
