Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation, influence, and factors affecting the implementation of the program in SMP Negeri 2 Waingapu. This research type is evaluative research by using a qualitative method. The evaluation program model used is a goal-free evaluation model. Interviews, observations, and document studies are techniques used for data collection. Data validity test is done with triangulation, technique and data source triangulation. The results showed that 1) the implementation of character education program in SMP Negeri 2 Waingapu has not been optimal yet, either in terms of planning, implementation or evaluation; 2) the effect of the program on integrating character values in Mathematics is positive on student achievement and behavior but also negative on teacher workload; 3) factors which affect the program are: facilities and infrastructures, information access, teachers, students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of special education management at Special School for Autism. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The speakers in this research are the principal and two teachers at Special School for Autism in Karanganyar. Data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman models. There are three steps in this model, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The implementation of special education management at Special School for Autism in coordination by a principal. In planning educational programs, tailored to the ability of each autistic student using IEP (Individual Educational Program). The school has an organizational structure that works in accordance with its duties. The principal is in charge of coordinating school management, while the teacher is responsible for the management of the class. Special School for Autism is a recently established school. The condition of autistic students who have different characteristics, the location of the foundation's office with the school is very far away, and the entry of students with different disorder conditions with autistic students makes the implementation of education management in Special School for Autism not running optimally. Therefore, schools have made efforts to minimize these barriers.

Abstract

The site of Indonesian Publication Index (IPI) has become a benchmark and reference research in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to map educational leadership articles on IPI sites based on types, indicators, and usefulness of educational leadership. This research method used literatur study, where researchers examined 91 scientific articles sourced from the corpus of the IPI database, researchers do the sorting and analysis and then the data communicated through descriptive statistics. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) types of educational leadership research methods include qualitative and quantitative methods, but the types of mixed methods are rarely found; (2) types of publicized educational leadership research are in accordance with existing educational leadership theories, but Indonesia has several characteristics of educational leaders such as boarding school leadership; (3) researchers in Indonesia have used indicators of effective educational leadership in accordance with what researchers use in other countries; and (4) education leadership researchers in Indonesia have provided recommendations for improving educational leadership. The above findings are expected to be discussed in developing educational leadership research in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research objectives are to describe the training that has been held so far and its weaknesses and to develop PCK training modules in order to improve the pedagogical and professional competence of mathematics teachers. This type of research is research and development. The research subjects were the MGMP Coordinator and junior high school mathematics teacher. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, documentation studies, and tests. Data analysis techniques use mixed methods. The PCK training module was developed using the Sugiyono model, taking 7 stages namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, limited trials and product revisions. Module validation tests are carried out by module experts, PCK experts, and prospective users. Research results: 1) Training for junior high school mathematics teachers have been focused on the dissemination of the 2013 curriculum and PCK training has never been held; 2) The weakness of the training that has been held so far: material from the powerpoint print out presented by the speaker, when the training collided with teaching activities in the school, the training material was only about the 2013 curriculum; and 3) PCK training modules that have been developed are feasible to use.

Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate academic supervision program at PAUD Tunas Kasih, Magelang, using Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) evaluation model. The results of the study were expected to provide inputs to decision-makers for subsequent programs. The respondents of this descriptive-qualitative research included the school principal, six teachers, and a school managerial staff. Data collection was done through interviews, observation and document studies. Triangulation of data sources and methods validated the data, subsequently analysed through data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. Findings indicated the context evaluation revealed a need for academic supervision based on the condition and the need for teacher’s quality improvement. The input evaluation described the well-planned program—using different techniques, involving the teachers in their readiness, supported by available budget and infrastructure. The process evaluation reported the implementation of the planned techniques, with some adjustments based on the on-going condition, supported by the teachers’ readiness as well as participation and how they handle the constraints. The product evaluation found out that the academic supervision program had positive impacts and achieved the planned goals. It also discovered teachers’ positive responses and some follow-up plans. Lastly, this study gave recommendations to improve the local supervision programs, inputs to the school management, and ideas for future researches.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how communication, resources, bureaucratic structure and disposition in Ujian Nasional (National Examination) (UN) program implementation. The research approach is qualitative with triangulation analysis techniques and source triangulation. Data collection is done by interview, document study, and observation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The subjects were principals, vice principals and proctors or technicians at SMA Negeri 1 Pabelan. The results showed that communication, resources, bureaucratic structure and disposition in SMA Negeri 1 Pabelan affected the UN program implementation. The conclusion: there is clear communication between the government and schools through workshops; availability of resources in the form of rules, human resources and adequate infrastructure; bureaucratic structure consists of committees compiled from the central and school levels and there are SOPs in the form of POS UN as guidelines for implementing the National Examination; the attitude of the implementer/disposition has the desire to implement policies with various attitudes in implementing the UN program. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is the influence of professional allowance and work motivation on teacher performance. The population in this study were all high school teachers in the District of Muara Sugihan (55 teachers). The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling. The sample consisted of 2 groups: teachers who had received professional allowances and who had not received professional allowances. The sampling technique uses a sample size determination table developed by Isaac and Michael, for a population of 55 people with an error rate of 5%, a sample of 48 people. The results of data analysis show that (1) there is a significant effect between professional allowances on teacher performance by 25.3%; (2) there is a significant effect between work motivation on teacher performance variables with an influence of 47.0%; (3) there is a significant effect between the professional allowance and work motivation together on the teacher's performance of the Public High School in Muara Sugihan District at 57.0%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality indicators of madrasah academic services to measure the madrasah ability in providing facilities, teachers and education staff, and services that meet the student expectations with the Servqual method. This study uses a quantitative approach with analytical descriptive research. Data collecting technique used a closed questionnaire of rating scale model. Validity test uses product moment correlation and reliability test using Cronbach Alpha. The measurement indicators in this study include five aspects, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and certainty, and empathy. In comprehensive terms the research results show the percentage of academic achievement service quality for teachers is 65.58%, and 58.67% in education staff. Based on five indicators, responsiveness becomes the highest achievement aspect, at 67.02%. While facilities and infrastructure, reliability, certainty and empathy assurance, still need improvement. However, overall, the academic services quality for teachers and education staff is included in the satisfying category, where the majority of teachers and education staff provide a high perception of service quality at the Thullab Foundation.

Abstract

Christian religious teacher leadership contributes to improving the learning process quality in school and national education contexts. Ironically, Christian religious teachers are still lacking knowledge in leadership, and not applying adequate leadership in the learning process. Thus, this paper was aimed to describe some characteristics of Christian religious teacher leadership that should be implemented. Based on the result of reviewing, these were found some of Christian religious teacher leadership characteristics: (1) serving students with the heart; (2) acting fair according to the truth of God's word; (3) having optimistic to educate; (4) able to manage time well; (5) loving students; (6) making decision objectively and firmly. In an effort to develop the Christian religious teacher leadership, further research and studies are needed to conduct in order to build the Christian religious teacher leadership concept.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the reality of cooperation management, the reality of cooperation development and development design of institutional cooperation on the improvement of civitas academic professionalism in IAIN Surakarta. This research is categorized as non-positivistic research in which in its analysis, it emphasizes more on the words of the object under study. This study was located in Faculty of Education and Teacher Training since it has a lot of spaces for profession development, especially a space for Field Experience Practice (Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan / PPL) program that nearly covers madrasah/schools in eks-Karesidenan Surakarta, a space for Fieldwork Study (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan), and madrasah/schools empowerment activity. The subject of this research is 4 heads of department, 3 heads of deanship and 3 rectorate officials. Data collection technique is using interview, observation, and documentation. Data validity technique is using source and method triangulation. Data analysis is using interactive analysis model. The result of this research shows that: The reality of cooperation management is still “top down” when it is related to the draft planning of collaboration paper. The reality of cooperation development which was started from cooperation without legal protection develops into the one with legal protection. Cooperation development design is developed through user mapping, strengthen the cooperation with school partners which focuses not only on PPL implementation but also on “give and take” activity which has yet happened between madrasah/schools and faculties in IAIN Surakarta.
