Abstract

The increasing complexity of global halal supply chains has created significant challenges in maintaining integrity, transparency, and resilience across interconnected stakeholders. Disruptions caused by technological limitations, information asymmetry, regulatory differences, and trust issues can threaten halal compliance and consumer confidence. This study aims to examine how digital traceability mechanisms contribute to enhancing halal supply chain resilience from a multi-stakeholder perspective. Using a qualitative conceptual approach based on an integrative literature review, this study synthesizes insights from halal supply chain management, digital transformation, organizational resilience, and industrial psychology. The findings indicate that digital traceability improves supply chain resilience through three key mechanisms: strengthening information transparency, increasing stakeholder trust, and facilitating collaborative decision-making. However, technological adoption alone is insufficient; successful implementation requires psychological readiness, organizational commitment, digital competency, and trust-based relationships among stakeholders. From an industrial psychology perspective, employee acceptance, perceived usefulness, organizational support, and cross-functional collaboration represent critical determinants influencing digital traceability effectiveness. This study contributes to the halal supply chain literature by integrating technological and behavioral perspectives, emphasizing that resilient halal ecosystems require alignment between digital infrastructure and human-centered organizational practices. The findings provide practical implications for halal industry managers, policymakers, and certification authorities in designing sustainable and adaptive halal supply chain systems.

Abstract

This systematic literature study conducts a comparative analysis of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in manufacturing, and proposes an integrated hybrid model. The research concludes that RCM and TPM are fundamentally distinct methodologies: RCM excels in risk-based, analytical management of complex, high-criticality assets, while TPM is superior for achieving broad-based productivity gains and cultural empowerment through total employee involvement. The effectiveness of each approach is contingent upon factors such as asset characteristics, organizational culture, data availability, and level of automation. To leverage their complementary strengths, the study proposes the Synergistic RCM-TPM Hybrid Model (SRTHM). This framework advocates for a sequential implementation where TPM establishes the foundational operational stability, discipline, and data culture, upon which selective RCM analysis is applied to critical assets for precision risk management. The model incorporates explicit feedback mechanisms to create a continuous organizational learning cycle. The study provides a contingency framework for methodology selection and a practical roadmap for integration, offering theoretical and practical guidance for building more resilient and context-appropriate maintenance systems in modern manufacturing.

Abstract

Quality consistency is a critical requirement in automotive component manufacturing, particularly in precision stamping processes where visual conformity, product identification, and physical integrity directly influence customer acceptance. This study investigates quality defects in R8 Cover production at PT Amtek Engineering using the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define–Measure–Analyze–Improve–Control) framework. A descriptive quantitative and observational approach was employed using production and reject records collected from 5–17 May 2024. The Define phase utilized SIPOC and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) mapping to identify key quality characteristics. Process capability was evaluated through Defect per Unit (DPU), Defect per Opportunity (DPO), Defect per Million Opportunities (DPMO), process yield, and sigma level measurements. Pareto analysis and fishbone diagrams were applied to determine dominant defect categories and their potential root causes. The results indicate that 82,843 units were produced with 4,533 rejected units, resulting in a DPU of 0.0547, a DPO of 0.0109, a DPMO of approximately 10,900, a process yield of 98.91%, and a sigma level of 3.8. Missing and damaged identification was identified as the most significant defect, contributing 33% of total defects, followed by missing lettering at 23%. Root-cause analysis revealed that defect occurrence was associated with operator practices, machine and tooling conditions, inspection procedures, material conformity, and workplace environment. The study proposes improvement actions focused on setup verification, preventive maintenance, tooling management, inspection standardization, operator competency development, and incoming material control. These findings provide an empirical basis for enhancing process capability and strengthening quality assurance in precision stamping operations.

Abstract

As technology develops, decision support systems are also widely used in various fields, for example banking, education, agriculture and other fields. Dompet Dhufa provides assistance to students who are outstanding but economically weak. Currently, the poor people's wallet is alert to still using manual selection. Selectors are only given a few days to decide who is entitled to receive the proposed scholarship, so the selection process cannot be carried out properly and correctly because the time given is not efficient with selection carried out manually. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out new innovations that develop appropriate technological tools, namely designing decision support to determine student scholarship recipients, applying Electre and the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method in shortening the selection of solutions to problems for scholarship recipients. Research on the Application of the Electre and Simple Additive Weighting Methods (SAW) to design the working capacity of a tool is defined as the ability of the selecting party. An example of unit time (hours) yield is a representation of an application obtained by comparing the initial system with the final system. The advantage of this application is that it makes it easier for the selection team to input data on students who take part in high-achieving scholarships and can then be selected fairly and speed up predictions of scholarship recipients.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the underlying factors associated with package delivery in Purwakarta City, particularly those related to infrastructure, courier workload, and road traffic congestion. Package delivery is an important aspect in supporting distribution activities and logistics services; therefore, the smoothness of the delivery process is a crucial factor in determining customer satisfaction. However, in practice, various obstacles still frequently occur and have the potential to hinder timeliness and the quality of delivery services. This study uses an exploratory approach with factor analysis methods to identify the dominant variables affecting the package delivery process. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and/or interviews with parties involved in package delivery activities in Purwakarta City. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the most influential factors affecting the effectiveness of package delivery, as well as serve as a basis for delivery service companies in developing service improvement strategies. Thus, this study is expected to make a practical contribution to improving the efficiency of package distribution in the Purwakarta City area.

Abstract

Flooding is one of the most frequent natural disasters occurring in the Kesambi River area, causing both material and non-material losses. The delay in obtaining information related to rising water levels is a major factor contributing to low community preparedness. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Flood Early Warning System (EWS) capable of real-time monitoring in flood-prone areas of the Kesambi River. The method used includes hardware design utilizing an ultrasonic-based water level sensor, microcontroller, and communication module for data transmission, as well as software design in the form of a mobile-based monitoring application. The system operates by detecting changes in water level and transmitting data to an IoT platform for real-time visualization and early warning notifications to users. The testing results indicate that the system can measure water levels with good accuracy and transmit data reliably. Furthermore, the system is capable of providing rapid early warnings when the water level reaches a predefined threshold. Therefore, the developed system can improve community preparedness in facing potential floods and reduce the resulting impacts.

Abstract

The imbalance in operator allocation and the potential for production delays in the PM11 Emboss Machine manufacturing process at PT XYZ indicate the need for a systematic and efficient scheduling approach. Ineffective scheduling may result in workload fluctuations, uneven resource utilization, and reduced operational performance. This study aims to identify the critical production path using the Critical Path Method (CPM) and balance operator allocation through Resource Leveling. The research used production planning data consisting of 126 operations grouped into six activities. CPM analysis was conducted using POM-QM for Windows to determine the critical path and project duration, while Resource Leveling was performed using Microsoft Project to optimize operator allocation. The results showed that the optimal project duration was 139.66 hours, with the critical path consisting of Frame 1+2+Support Frame and Assy MS Emboss activities. After implementing Resource Leveling, the maximum operator requirement decreased from 17 to 10 operators, the Coefficient of Variation (CV) decreased from 58.35% to 39.10%, and the Standard Deviation decreased from 4.96 to 2.67 without extending project duration. These findings demonstrate that the integration of CPM and Resource Leveling improves scheduling efficiency and supports balanced workload distribution in the PM11 Emboss Machine production process at PT XYZ.

Abstract

The manual loading of finished goods in the cooking oil industry has the potential to cause unergonomic work postures and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This study aims to analyze the work posture of loading workers at CV. OASE using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method, identify body complaints through the Nordic Body Map (NBM), and provide suggestions for ergonomic work improvements. Data were collected through observation, interviews, posture documentation, NBM questionnaires for 12 workers, and posture angle measurements using the Angle Meter 360 application for 4 workers. The results showed that all workers obtained a final RULA score of 7, including high risk and requiring immediate improvement. The NBM results showed dominant complaints in the waist with a score of 44 and the lower neck with a score of 42, including very high risk. The contributing factors were a bent posture of more than 60°, a carton load of more than 10 kg, and repeated lifting. Suggested improvements include the use of an adjustable conveyor belt so that the carton position is parallel to the worker's waist. The RULA simulation showed a score decrease from 7 to 6, so the risk changed from high to medium. These improvements are expected to reduce MSD complaints and increase the comfort and productivity of loading workers.

Abstract

Usaha mikro ritel, khususnya Toko Madura, memainkan peran penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Namun, aktivitas kerja yang didominasi oleh durasi kerja yang panjang, beban kerja fisik, dan postur kerja yang tidak ergonomis berpotensi menyebabkan keluhan kesehatan pada pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara durasi kerja, beban kerja fisik, dan postur tubuh dengan keluhan kesehatan serta mendeskripsikan implementasi Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) berbasis ergonomi di usaha mikro ritel. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan kuesioner dari 60 responden yang bekerja di usaha mikro ritel di Surabaya, Mojokerto, dan Gresik. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi-Square untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel kategorikal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua variabel memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan keluhan kesehatan, yaitu durasi kerja (p = 0,020), beban kerja fisik (p < 0,001), dan postur tubuh (p < 0,001), sehingga hipotesis alternatif diterima. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin lama durasi kerja, semakin tinggi beban kerja fisik, dan semakin tidak ergonomis postur kerja, semakin besar risiko keluhan kesehatan pada pekerja. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya menerapkan manajemen K3 berbasis ergonomi melalui pengaturan jam kerja, penyediaan waktu istirahat yang memadai, pengendalian beban kerja, perbaikan postur kerja, penyusunan SOP, dan pelaksanaan pelatihan K3 secara berkala untuk meningkatkan kesehatan, keselamatan, dan produktivitas pekerja usaha mikro ritel.

Abstract

The development of the manufacturing industry at the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) scale in Indonesia demands increased efficiency in the production process to be competitive, but various wastes are still found, especially in non-value-added activities. This study aims to identify, analyze, and minimize waste in the production process of motorcycle Arm spare parts at PT. XYZ. The method used is a Lean Manufacturing approach through the application of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke). Data collection was carried out through direct observation, interviews, and questionnaires to identify the dominant types of waste using VALSAT (Value Stream Analysis Tools) weighting. The results showed that the main waste that occurred was movement and transportation caused by manual cleaning processes, suboptimal layouts, and inefficient material flow. Current State Mapping analysis showed a total waiting time of 4322 seconds, with activities that still contain waste. After the proposed improvements through Future State Mapping and the implementation of 5S, there was an increase in efficiency with a waiting time of 4260 seconds and an improvement in the condition of the work area to be neater, more organized, and safer. The conclusion of this study shows that the integration of VSM and 5S methods is effective in reducing waste, improving process flow, and increasing productivity and work efficiency in the metal SME industry.
